After my first two estimates (where both guys showed up between 1 to 2 hours late), I was shocked at the price of a one time yard clean up, and I was surprised at the cost of monthly service because the estimates I received were significantly higher than friends of mine pay for their monthly gardening service. My third and final estimate was from Edwin Deras Lawn and Garden, and I was impressed with how Edwin looked at my yard and told me in detail what he thought needed to be done. Following that, Edwin patiently listened to me as I shared with him what I thought needed to be done (something the first two people that gave me estimates didn't really care to hear about, which they made pretty obvious. It's MY yard, right?). After taking a look at both my front and rear yards, Edwin gave me two options on what he could do to clean them up, and he explained in detail what the differences would be and how that would effect the cost (something I never heard from the first two people who gave me estimates). After I selected the more thorough way to clean up my yard, Edwin gave me an estimate that was significantly less expensive than the other two bids I got, and I told him if he could do all that he said he would, he was hired. Edwin said he could do it and he asked if he could start the next day which surprised me, because that was a lot quicker than the other two guys told me due their supposedly busy work schedules. We agreed for Edwin to start the next day, and about an hour later, Edwin called me and said he and his crew looked they like were going to finish a job they were currently working on early, and he wanted to know if it would be okay to start the job today. I said okay, and about 45 minutes later, Edwin and his crew showed up at my house and immediately started working on my front and back yards. Having never used Edwin Deras Lawn and Garden before, I quietly walked around and watched Edwin and his crew work on my front and back yards from a distance, and I was really impressed with how thorough they were, and how they didn't cut corners. In fact, Edwin and his guys worked so d*** hard, it was making me tired just to watch them. Edwin and his guys finished about 60% of my front and back yards in what was left of the day, and he told me he would be back at 8 am the next morning (a Saturday) to finish up the rest. I expected him to be late the next morning because the two other guys I got estimates from never showed up on time, but h*** if Edwin didn't show up with his guys promptly at 8 am and immediately start working on my front and back yards again. Edwin and his crew worked very fast, and after a few hours, they were done, and my yard looked absolutely amazing. After seeing first hand the quality of Edwin's work, how he and his guys didn't cut any corners, and how hard they all worked, I was simply blown away and also hired him for monthly service. I haven't written very many reviews on Angie's List, but I would recommend Edwin Deras Lawn and Garden to anyone. Edwin is the real deal.
