Alan Schwartz was recommended to us by Kent Construction, with whom he has worked on many projects. He came to our home to discuss our ideas for our new kitchen, made helpful suggestions, and took rough measurements to assist in the new design. After a few days, he provided us with several options that we discussed after a tour of his shop. We were able to see a number of sample cabinets, which assisted in our selecting the finish details. After seeing Alan's enthusiasm for his craft, and the quality of his work, we were completely sold. Because our project was on a tight schedule, Alan agreed to work with our contractor (David Kent) to deliver the unfinished carcasses early so that the countertop installation could proceed. That happened right on schedule with no surprises. But it wasn't until the rest of the cabinetry arrived (on time, of course, and coordinated so as not to interfere with other craftsmen on the job) that we realized what a great choice we had made. The workmanship was superb and completely justified the cost. These cabinets, and the associated hardware, will outlive this home (or at least this homeowner). Alan and his staff then made sure that every component was working properly, and installed our selected drawer and cabinet pulls on site exactly where we wanted them. He even provided additional last-minute customization (addition of shelves to convert a broom closet to a pantry) at no additional cost. It is such a pleasure to work with professionals who knows their business and take pride in their work. We recommend Alan Schwartz and Eclectic Cottage without hesitation, and will definitely contract with him again when it comes time to remodel out bathroom. Five stars!

Alan is a local contractor who has done major residential bath/ kitchen construction remodel work for several of our neighbors. I was concerned using him because he is not a commercial level general contractor. Because of my career (Registered Engineer) I am used to seeing large commercial construction. That is the only reason I gave him a B on professionalism. He knows a great many talented subs but is really a one man shop. For the neighbors he acts as the general contractor. The two neighbors I questioned extensively as well as looking at his work told me that he gave them a price and stuck to it, he gave them a finish date and he made it happen. There was a problem under the house in the plumbing after the second floor bath remodel for my neighbor and as a true general contractor Alan took full responsibility for fixing it even though he doesn't do any of the plumbing himself (he subs it out). I decided to be my own general contractor on a full bathroom remodel and I had Alan do the millwork described above and shown in the photos. Alan was not offended at all to not be given the entire project. In fact, he was a great resource for me even when I called him to ask questions about other trades. Alan's work is very good, he is fast although he is juggling a lot of work but the greatest thing about him is I can trust him. He has a great attitude and really loves the work and is NOT at all about the Benjamins. I did give him a perfect score on punctuality even though the drawers and doors were delayed. The door finisher did an excellent job but was late. I should have realized that the July 4th week would probably have an affect on my construction schedule. Alan worked with me. He would arrange times to stop by if I needed to talk to him. I had a little difficulty coordinating the manufactured stone top installer with Alan's millwork. Alan did what I needed him to do to accommodate the stone installer. Alan has a lot of experience, he really hustles, he has some very nice portable German wood-working equipment as a secret weapon that he can pull out in case things aren't delivered perfectly or even when he is building framing. He does very nice work.

Eclectic Cottage Construction company was awesome. The person who came out to do the job was personable and attentive to details. He first ordered the wrong size and ended up doing it all over again without charging me anything extra. He cleaned up after the job. He did a great job.

The project cost us $15000. They were good. They were very prompt and careful about their service. They responded immediately to any questions that we might have had. We had no trouble with our order. We will use this company again in the future.

Alan Schwartz is highly competent, honest, dedicated to his work, and more concerned about customer satisfaction than any contractor I have ever met. He did not try to rush us into hiring him, he told us that he was more concerned that we be certain we wanted to work with him that having us rush into signing a contract. I was actually stunned by his approach because it was something I had never encountered before. He gave us multiple hours talking with us, answering questions, clarifying prices, etc. s before we hired him. This patience continued throughout the job. If we got hung up along the way on a particular issue, he didn't rush us into a decision because it was more convenient for him to keep the job moving. Moreover, he is cost conscious and has a great aesthetic eye. He gave us excellent suggestions that saved money and enhanced the overall visual attractiveness of the job.
