Delancey Street Movers

After years of highly recommending them to lots of friends and after many excellent moves with them, they cancelled our booking 6 days before our interstate move, because they had double booked themselves. We had received confirmation of the agreed date and arranged around that. Not once did they attempt problem solving or any approach other than defensiveness. There was no empathy that we cannot move on the previous days because of building repairs blocking the foyer (exit) and we absolutely have to be interstate for meetings straight after, plus having new tenants moving in. We don't even need a truck, as the furniture and boxes are going to our storage next door - just guys. Anyone who has been through a move knows the enormous amount of organization that goes into a move interstate and what absolute chaos this causes, not to mention the financial cost we will incur to fix all this and maybe miss major meetings. We can no longer trust them. The sign of a good supplier is that when problems do occur (and they do), that they work with you to fix them, not just say they won't fix their own admin fault.

Delancey St. did the impossible - made moving day an uplifting, pleasant experience. Incredibly good work -- they literally ran between carrying loads, made sure to not damage anything, were incredibly nice and even grateful for the opportunity. They were a credit to the foundation and themselves.

This was the second time we've used Delancy Street Movers here in L.A. (DH used them in San Francisco) and we could not be more pleased... Like last time, we really just wanted to them to move our big items. A giant Cal King Bed, our washer and dryer, etc... Four guys showed up eager to work and in the time we had schedule they actually were able to take so much more! When we arrived to our new home, they gently moved everything in and carefully assembled everything making sure that things worked and items were exactly where we wanted them. The only warning about their service is that they only accept cash and cashiers check... and during a move, it's kinda nerve wracking to carry around so much cash... Still, I would use them in a heartbeat.

Delancey Street movers was recommended to me by a friend who had used them several times in the past, and they were excellent! They made a wonderful first impression on me when they didn't flinch at the fact that they had to move all my furniture and scores of boxes from a 3rd level condo. This team of 4 guys were friendly, professional, and were very hard workers. They didn't slow down until all of my belongings were installed in the new house. The price came in at under the initial estimate, which was pleasant news. I would definitely use them again.

The move went smoothly and on schedule. The movers took excellent care of my items and left them exactly in the room where they belonged. I will hire them again when I move and I have had my son use them when he moved.

They were recommended to me and they did a great job.

They seem to think they can do it in 2 hours. It is $165 an hour plus a tacking fee and a gas fee. They were referred by people who have used them in the past.

They are amazing! They are a non-profit rehabilitation company and the work ethic is high and seems to have the highest integrity. Every single one of them are trying to better their lives. The workers are fast and efficient. All, but one time they came in under their estimate. They are very honest, professional, and fair priced. They wrap everything well before they move things. I have recommended them to friends and they have also given them glowing reviews, as well!

This is the third time that I have used Delancey Street Movers -- once within San Francisco, the second from San Francisco to Pasadena, and this time from Pasadena to San Clemente. They are truly excellent -- professional, courteous, helpful and expert at what they do. They have a process and they stick to it. Unlike the two other companies I contacted for this move, Delancy came out in-person to review the job and prepare the estimate. I had a huge amount of stuff -- two trucks worth. They packed it all, as well as loading and unloading. They even spent time helping me arrange my furniture at this end so it was "just right". I had no broken items, no scratches, no damage at all. I hope I never have to move again. But if I do, I will use Delancey.

Highly recommended! These guys are great - amazingly fast, extremely polite, detail oriented, and the prices are reasonable too! I was able to move from my one-bedroom apartment (on the third floor with NO elevator access!!!!) to another apartment on a second floor (also no elevator) in under 3 hours and for under $500. I was absolutely amazed. And I really can't say enough about what a great attitude these guys had. One actually told me that he had fun moving my stuff! :)

I really liked the idea behind this service and the guys were nothing short of spectacular, courteous, diligent and hard-working. The part I had trouble with was when I got to my new home and unpacked the tv to discover that it wasn't working and had somehow been damaged in transit. When I called corporate in San Francisco to report the damage and collect the amount due for the replacement tv, they said they wouldn't honor the claim. Due to their response, I will not use their service again...sad because the overall service was truly spectacular.

The move went really well. I liked them a lot and would recommend them. They were really nice and professional. I would use them myself again if needed.

From scheduling to final payment Delancey Street Movers were incredibly accommodating and absolutely professional. I had to change the move date twice due to issues with the closing of the new property. On super-short notice, they scheduled me on a Thursday afternoon for the following Tuesday, the day after Memorial Day...amazing! They were "on the second-hand" on time, for both the estimate and the day of the move. The movers were friendly, hard-working, and very attentive to details. They worked fast and efficiently and loaded the truck in just under 2 hours. The unload was even faster, bringing us in under the estimate-and this is after moving my behemoth armoire, giant TV, and old fridge down a flight of steps and then up two flights at the new place. They even fixed the loose leg on my end table that has ALWAYS been loose, they offered to tighten it and now it doesn't wobble anymore-outstanding service! I could not have had a smoother and more enjoyable move day. Despite the expected stress of a move day, Gary and his team had a zen-like effect on the event and I would highly recommend them to anyone I know.

The one thing that I think people need to know about Delancey Street Movers is that it is a rehabilitation program to get former prisoners job skills. I have moved with them often. I have never had a scratch on a piece of furniture. I have never had a wall bumped. I have never had anything missing. They have always done a fabulous job. The entire process is carefully overseen. Their future lives depend on them doing a good job for you and they do a splendid job. They have very reasonable prices and they don't take tips. They are the best movers I have ever used and I have many.

I liked that they sent a three man crew to get the job done in two hours time. They arrived on time and did the work without any breakage or damage to our things.

This was my second time using Delancey Street, and I had a very positive experience both times. The initial visit with the estimators was professional and thorough, and they arrived on time. The price was quite reasonable. On the day of the move, the team arrived on time, and, like in the first move, they emptied the house, packed the truck, and unpacked the truck like a machine. All of the guys I interacted with during both moves, both on the phone and in person, were terrific. I highly, highly recommend them, and it's a great way to both get a move accomplished while also supporting a great charitable cause.
