He found that the vents were torn and in general disrepair. Gave me an estimate on what it would cost to fix and then fixed the problems before doing the work that he was originally hired to do.

He said we needed additional work and he performed that for an additional fee.

Spent the whole time trying to sell me more. Don't they know that we can see through their antics. Do the job you were booked for, shut up, and you might get an A.

The company did not have the equipment to clean the older vents from the furnace, so cleaned the dryer vent instead.

Excellent. The person was very early for the appointment but checked that that was ok. Identified an issue with the AC unit outside - sent pictures as I was at work told me the issues and the solution and was able to fix it that day.

All that being said up above, Roberto was actually a seemingly nice guy. I get it, everyone's trying to make money, but come on...talk about false advertising.

When their guy Roberto arrived, he did his normal thing and went up to the attic to do inspections. He came back down and told me that he could not do cleaning because we had fiberglass in our air system. He then proceeded to "educate" me and told me that I would need to replace my air handling system and plenum box. He told me we had R2 grade air ducts and that if they did the cleaning it would tear up the ducting. He told me that this would cost $4000. I was shocked because our house is not that old and I asked to see the system myself. He opened it up and yes our air system box had a fiberglass lining but everything was clean. I even put my hand in there and could not even get dust on my finger. I told Roberto I am not going to make a decision today. The way I do things is do my homework, get more companies to come out and give me a second opinion. I was adamant and then Roberto said to me how about if I drop the price to $3500. I told him again I don't work that way, I do my homework first. Then the shocker was when he said to me "how much do you want to pay?" I'm thinking what the "f". I'm not paying you anything. So he's packing up all his stuff to leave and I remember he told me earlier that the company is licensed, bonded and insured. I asked him can you give me a copy of your license and insurance. He said that he only has one copy and that he cannot give it to me. So I asked him can I take a picture of it on my cell phone. He resisted and said no at first. So in the next few days, I got more companies to come in and take a look at the air system (companies with actual HVAC people). As my intuition confirmed, there was nothing wrong with my air system. They told me that SL Home Designs was trying to scam and upsell me. Some homebuilders in the past put in air systems with fiberglass linings and also our air ducts was R4 grade NOT R2 like what Roberto was trying to scare me about. But the other HVAC companies said my home would still be up to code even with my current air system. So watch out for SL Home Designs. They hook you with an Air Cleaning promo but then when they come in, they won't do the work or try to upsell you. As in my case, they tried to make me replace everything for $4000 when I only wanted the $279 air duct cleaning. Needless to say, I had another company clean my air ducts and it did not tear up the ducts and my house is still standing fine.

I felt "not well". Technician was supposed to take "before and after photo's" but he "forgot". He did however, suggest removing the entire heating unit (which is enclosed indoors) out for a cleaning for $400! When i said I did not think that was necessary, he showed me "pictures he took" that showed it was dirty. Then he offered to do it for $300. I still declined. Then he offered to spray it with a cleaning solution for $200. I still declined. I paid $79 for a "special deal" to have the vent cleaned. It took about 15 to 20 minutes. It seemed he was just there to see what additional money he could collect. Would not use again.

I contacted them looking for a HVAC company on yelp. The gentlemen came out to give me an estimate for cleaning my air conditioning ducts and heating unit. They did a full inspection, drew out a detailed diagram of how the unit and ducts work, and wrote out a detailed proposal breaking down the price. I decided to schedule for them to come back to do the job next week.

Came to do the work and tried to upsell me to redo my insulation in a 10 yr old house. Maybe it needed it maybe not but I turned it down. They completed work I requested in a professional way

The guy came into my house and was suppose to do the air vent cleaning, but the first thing he was looking for is to find something wrong with my air condition. Therefore, he said that my air duct is bad and that they need to change it and it would cost me $4000! So I said just leave it alone and do the air vent cleaning, and he said would not. He told me to change my air vent first and then do the cleaning. I cancelled the deal instead.

Hired this company to clean out existing ducting with the $79.00 deal. When Roberto inspected the ducting, he suggested replacing it with new material. I knew that we needed to have this done so decided to go ahead and replace it

Great, they found the problem that wasn't really a problem and didn't charge for the visit and fix because they didn't really have to do anything. Needless to say I was very happy.

It went horrible. I purchased this service on 1/6/17. I went out of town on 1/8/17 and didn't return until 1/29/17. I contacted SL Home Designs on 2/6/17 to schedule them to come to my home. Shawn gave me an appointment for one week later on 2/13/17 at 3pm. On 2/13/17, the day of my appointment, I receive a text from Shawn apologizing for any inconvenience, but wanting to schedule my 1 pm appointment until the following week. I texted him back informing him that are appointment was for 3 pm today, not 1 pm and next week would not work for me. He texted back saying how about tomorrow, 2/14 at 3 pm and I said fine. On Tuesday, 2/14/17 I receive a text at 4:09 pm stating they are running late for my 3pm appointment, but someone (Robert) is on the way right now. At 5:32 pm, I receive a phone call from Shawn stating Robert is in route and should be there within the hour. I told him thanks for ruining my Valentines Day. Robert finally arrived at 6:10 pm, over 3 hours late. He asked did I have an attic. I said no, this is a condo. He said my "air duct was old" and if he put the vacuum up in my air duct it might shake something loose. I never heard of people replacing air ducts because they are old, but in any event he said he would need to bust out a wall in order to clean my air duct. I told him that I was not going to allow him to bust out my wall and why didn't their ad specify you needed an attic or crawlspace to perform this service?? He offered to "sanitize" my vents instead, free of charge and sprayed a toxic smelling solution into my heater vent. I am totally disgusted with this whole experience. On top of them not performing the service I paid for, Angie's List is now refusing to refund my $79 because I am outside of my 30 day window period. Please give me a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was here for the holidays visiting my parents. they made an appointment with this company to come inspect the duct system in their house because the air wasn't flowing good in the master bedroom and living room. Shawn showed up and inspected the duct work to find out the ducts had been disconnected and torn apart from rats! He took some pictures and showed us exactly what was going on. My parents and I sat with him and he explained how much air they were losing in the house, which is what was causing their utility bills to be so expensive. Shawn, my parent's and I agreed on a fairly competitive price and decided to go with him to perform the air duct replacement work. The next day he showed up with his crew and they got right to work by covering the work area plastic to not get anything dirty. They worked all day nonstop and replaced all our ducting. After they finished, we turned on the system and the amount of air flowing was so much stronger. It's been six weeks now and my parent's are saying that everything is working perfectly. This company is very good at what they do and they provide you with information during the whole process. I would recommend their services to anybody looking to upgrade HVAC situation.

Things were absolutely fine and I was totally satisfied with them. They knew what they were doing . They came and did a air duct cleaning. I also had them take out all the old and add new installation. They were professional and clean. They all wore protective covering to keep the home clean. They all spoke English which is nice, very polite and accommodating. I think their attitude was the most important thing, "We can do it". I was really satisfied. There was about five of them and they were here and in and out within one day. There were bags and bags of old taken out and they came back and took it all the next day. They had a big battle with the job getting all the batting out, there were also dead rats cleared out. They were very hard working. I am very demanding and a stickler customer and I give them all A's!

Roberto came with another gentleman and did a fine job. I was only going to have my duct cleaned but they opened the system up and found it to be very dirty. In addition, they identified an old fiberglass duct and recommended that it be replaced with a new non-toxic material. Icing on the cake is that they found one duct line that was open underneath the house so the system wasn't running as efficiently as it should've been. All these issues were addressed and we negotiated a price that was satisfactory for both parties. Roberto was very polite and took the time to explain everything to me. I highly recommend these guys.

I took advantage of the special deal this company has running for the air duct cleaning. Robert showed up about 4 days after i made the purchase to come to the cleaning. He was very professional and worked very hard. Everything that was promised on the coupon was performed. They showed me pictures of the work before and after. I will use them again on a yearly basis instead of waiting 5 years like I did this time.

Vendor came to perform cleanup of vents. Instead he recommended change of the full system and refused to do any cleanup.

The service person arrived in an unmarked truck with no ID and a shop vac. He had no intention of doing the work at hand - his goal was to upsell, and it was clear he was trained not to take no for an answer. I almost threw him out twice. He spilled water on my floor without cleaning it up, blatantly lied about conditions in my attic (yes, I've been up there myself and have since gotten a second opinion) and tried to use scare tactics to sell unnecessary services. He sat at my dining room table like he owned the place while his shop vac ran unattended in my attic. I am not convinced any work was done. It was a total waste of time and money. This company will never set foot on my property again.

Company could not complete the job because my plenum is insulated with fiberglass. Company does not offer this service. Working on a refund. Ended up having the furnace serviced instead for $400. Not sure how compatible the price is to other companies. Seemed to do a good job.
