I would highly recommend Cipriano Perez.

I am still using their service for about a year. They always show up on time and do exactly what I ask them to do.

Their service is excellent. He is very reliable. His prices are right and he knows what he is doing. He is also very dependable and comes weekly to do my lawn.

I spoke with C. Perez on a Mon. he came out on Wed and was able to start the work on Fri. Excellent work and service. I will use them again.

We met with Cipriano and felt his price to clean up our yard and do the monthly maintenance was high, but we decided to trust he would do a good job, so we hired him to clean up our yard and replant, after many years of a blow and go service had ruined it. We agreed to a price that was almost twice what we had been paying, but felt it would be worth it if the job was done properly. At the beginning, Cipriano was great - he had his crew come and clean up the yard and they did a very good job. Although he never came to do that portion of the work, which concerned us because we had hired him and expected him to at least be present when the work was done. Cipriano did come after the clean-up and fixed various problems we had with our sprinkler system and did a very good job with that. Cipriano quoted us a price of $ 175.00 per month for maintenance, based on him replanting the backyard, which would require more maintenance, once it was replanted. We were really looking forward to a beautifully landscaped yard, but it never happened. . . . Unfortunately, the Summer was very hot and Cipriano told us the planting could not take place until the heat let up, which was late September. October went by - nothing planted. November went by - nothing planted. My husband spoke to Cipriano about the fact that nothing had been planted yet and why he hadn't adjusted the sprinklers to the new season so we aren't over-watering. Cipriano said now he can't plant because it's too cold and even the grass seed he needs won't be available until the Spring. My husband said fine, but we would at least like him to cover some holes we have on the back lawn and fill in a large area of the lawn that has no grass and is spreading larger by the day. We were very concerned about this area because we live on a slope and when it rains the water heads toward the house and with nothing to slow it down, the problem is compounded. Cipriano said he would come 2 days later and fix that part at least. He never showed up or called. We did receive a call that night from his wife, Rosario, who manages the business, and she left a message that he couldn't come because the dirt store was closed due to the rain and he would be by the next week to do it. The next week he came for his regular service, didn't do the additional requested work and left mushrooms growing on the lawn and quite a bit of dirt and mud on the hardscape. He didn't show up on any other day to do it either. The following week he again came for the regular service and my husband spoke to him about why this work hadn't been done and he replied " I have other customers and there has been rain ". There were at least 4 days that it wasn't raining, and for that matter, why couldn't he have done the work with his regular visit? When my husband asked him why he left mushrooms growing in our lawn his reply was " Mushrooms just grow back when you remove them ". So with that kind of thinking, according to Cipriano, we should start a mushroom farm on our back lawn since they just grow back. Perhaps they are growing because he never adjusted the water when the seasons changed! My husband told him this was unacceptable and explained to him we would no longer pay him the high monthly rate he was charging until the planting was completed, since there isn't very much to maintain at this time. He said he would have to speak to his wife and my husband said fine and walked away. Today his wife called and spoke to my husband and after explaining our side (which was punctuated with spells of her laughing at my husband while he explained how disappointed we were), she said they would not lower the rate; she did not apologize for the dissatisfaction we have and said that my husband had spoken "disrespectfully" to Cipriano (which is not true - we were always very professional and polite until the other day when my husband was finally exasperated with the situation). Apparently, according to this company, we have to be polite, accept bad work quality, never complain and gladly hand over our hard-earned money every month for sub-par work. We are very disappointed with how things worked out with Cipriano and I have to say, beware when you hire him and if you do hire him, keep on him to do the work - don't trust he will get it done on his own, or you will be looking at the same yard you started with months later.

I?ve gotten through a year of various contractors coming by to see our yard and to hear our ideas. Some never called back, some had incredibly expansive and expensive plans and some were confused, inexperienced and just didn?t get it? Boy, were we glad to have found Cipriano a couple of months ago? Cipriano is HONEST, knowledgeable, friendly, responsible and a no nonsense contractor. He truly was a pleasure to deal with. He got what we were looking for, provided detailed quotes and started a couple of weeks post plan approval. We expanded and changed the project along the way and Cipriano got it all done without a moment of hesitation. I would highly recommend Cipriano?s services to anyone considering landscaping or irrigation work.

All the work is done very well. No issues at all. The really nice thing is that they're not just a mow-and-blow operation. They carefully pruned my hibiscus instead of just taking a hedge trimmer and whacking off branches. This is their approach to everything.

They are very customer oriented. They are very knowledgable about sprinklers and landscaping. His workers are very courteous, polite and punctual.

We called to get an estimate on repairing our sprinkler system and replacing the lawn which had become overgrown with weeds and evasive grass. Mr Perez came out the first time and was very helpful with suggestions. He sent someone over to do a more thorough inspection (even calling me on Sunday to make the appointment) and I was give more suggestions which I was agreeable. I was told Mr Perez would get back to me with a price. After 3 days of not hearing from anyone I called and left a message on a Friday. When I still had not heard back by Monday I left another message asking for him to please extend the courtesy of letting me know if he was not interested in the job. As of the following Tuesday morning I still have not heard from anyone. We have 2900 sq ft of lawn so it's not a small job. This is very disappointing, plus both his time and mine have been wasted. If he should contact me after posting this I will let Angie's List know, as I wish to be fair.

Cipriano was on time for our initial appointment, was professional and extremely knowledgeable. We didn't think we needed to redo the sprinklers , but as soon as he pointed out areas of concern and how we were wasting water, it became apparent the our existing system was woefully inadequate. He didn't pressure us to install a new irrigation system, but what he did say was that he would not do the job if the system wasn't fixed, since we would be very unhappy down the line. We quickly realized that our 30 year old system needed to be updated and we should do the job right. I'm certain we could have found someone else to install sod but in retrospect the last time we did that it was a disaster, so we recognized that he was right. His estimated was clear and detailed and we felt the price was fair. The thing i really appreciated was how quickly Rosario (his wife) responded to our emails and was always available to answer any questions and keep us informed during the week of work, not to mention that she is a delight to deal with...as is Cipriano. His workers all speak English and are as nice as he is and the work proceeded according to plan. They cleaned up after themselves and were always willing to answer a question or make a small change if I felt it was needed. Our yard has been transformed from a very ugly ducking to a beautiful oasis, but the big thing is how committed Cipriano & Rosario are to satisfying their customers and how extremely honest they are. The quality of the sod was exceptional and Cipriano told us he travels 60 miles away just to buy it at a particular farm and it shows. He planted 20 ficus trees and not only were they taller than any 15 gallon plants I have seen, they were also exceptionally healthy and it's apparent that he takes the time to pick the plants personally rather than just placing an order. But here is where he excels...when his workers didn't exactly follow the sprinkler plan and placed the individual bubblers a few inches to the side of the plants, he came back (after I paid for the job) and moved each of the 20 bubblers himself to make sure they were exactly where they needed to be. We would not have known that they weren't right, but he did and cared enough to fix it. He also went above and beyond, in some cases doing extra work, to make sure that HE was happy that the job was done to his exceptional standards. I cannot recommend him enough, we are grateful to Angies List for finding him and very happy with our new yard!

Cipriano is simply the best. He was prompt for both estimate and date of work. His crew was polite and conscientious and very talented. They all went above and beyond our expectations. Upon their arrival they noticed a minor leak at my water main. The leak was caused by roots from a large tree a few feet away. They worked to fix the leak while clearing and pruning and stayed late to finalize the repair even after I had to leave for an engagement. I'm a construction superintendent and know a quality contractor when I work with one. Cipriano Perez and his crew are true professionals and I highly recommend him.

Cipriano came to see us within a few days of me calling for an appointment. He came on time and made a very thorough assessment of our needs. We are first time homeowners and have never maintained a back yard before. He provided valuable advise, including ways for use to save money on the project. He submitted his estimate within two days of seeing us. Ultimately we decided to go with another contractor simply because the bid was lower.

We've had Cipriano and his crew doing our yard maintenance for a few months now and we're extremely happy with their work. Our experience with several previous gardeners was that they tended to do a decent job right at first, but the quality of the work was always a notch below what we had hoped, and it invariably dropped off to the point where it simply became "mow and blow," with less and less time spent each week on actually "improving" anything. This hasn't been the case with Cipriano, who has surpassed the level of quality we've seen with other gardeners, and continues to impress us with his care and thoroughness. The yard looks better each week as he and his crew continue to clear out dead/overgrown areas, prune existing plants, and do mowing and leaf pickup (which has been no easy task with all the recent winds this winter.) Each week they focus some "pruning/improvement time" on a different area of the yard, and Cipriano makes sure to prune the plants in the style that we prefer (which is what we would call a "natural but neat" look.) He is very responsive to our directions, but he also offers his own suggestions, and lets us know what our options are given his experience with specific types of plants. Cipriano genuinely cares about his work, and always makes an effort to understand what we're looking for. Communication is EXTREMELY important to us, so it's nice to finally find a gardener that takes the time to talk with us so that he knows how we prefer to have things done, and in what order we'd like to have various areas of our yard addressed. Unexpected issues sometimes pop up (i.e. sprinkler issues, etc.), and Cipriano adjusts to the situation and focuses his attention on whatever needs to be done on any given week. At the same time, we do not feel like we have to micro-manage him since he has a feel for what our main concerns are. We therefore don't worry if we're not available on any given week to go over things with him. Overall, Cirpriano is a very professional gardener who is also simply a really nice guy. We look forward to seeing our yard improve as we move forward, and we're confident that Cirpriano and his crew were a great choice.

When I called his business to make an appointment and had left him a message, he called me back very quickly. What I appreciated a lot. Our first meeting was very pleasant, he speaks excellent english, which helps a lot to communicate. He is very personable and I actually enjoyed talking with him. He showed interest in what I had to say, what I expect from a gardener and my personal needs regarding our garden.The first time he and his crew came over, they did a nice job indeed. The problem with our property is that we have 5 huge city trees right in front of our house which lose tons of leaves in fall and it can be quite a task to remove the fallen leaves. There was no complain about this issue compared to other gardeners I had in the past. But what I mostly appreciated was, that he actually had listened to me in our first conversation, to be careful with the leave blower around our pond and aviary. When he was done. I was so happy to see that my wishes were respected and that he definitely did his very best. I am looking forward for his next visit tomorrow. And so far, yes I can very much recommend him and his professional work!

From Day One, I had no doubt that Cipriano was a catch. (Big thanks to his other clients who have generously provided thorough reports.) The day that I sent an inquiry to the company, I was contacted by Rosario to set up an appointment with Cipriano. He met me promptly at the designated time to discuss my objectives and to take measurements. I told Cipriano that I wanted to address the irrigation, then at the end of October, lay the sod. Within a day, I was provided with a proposal for the irrigation and another for the laying of the sod, and off we went. His team started the demo-ing of the backyard within about two business days and a day or so in, I threw Cipriano a curveball. I told him that I no longer wanted to wait until the end of October to lay the sod and that I wanted it put down ASAP. I don't think Cipriano blinked an eye with that plan change, but simply said that he could lay the sod on the upcoming Saturday, which was just 3-4 days off. On a hot Saturday, his team arrived at 7am and worked until 5pm to get the sod down as promised. Not only did they get the sod down, but Cipriano directed his team to patch spots in my front yard with the extra sod. We had not previously discussed patching; Ciprano took the initiative to do this. Cipriano and team did not just throw down the squares, but they cleared the debris from the soil under the area to be patched, and prepared the soil. There was a hiccup with the under-the-house wiring on Saturday evenings and because I failed to provide Cipriano safe access to my yard later that Saturday night (after he went to Home Depot for supplies and to honor another client's appointment), he returned the next day (a Sunday!) to get the sprinklers and timer running perfectly. The sod looks beautiful and is flourishing. The irrigation is perfectly efficient. The trees he chose and planted are beautiful. My yard was left clean and my existing plants were left undisturbed, despite the extensive work. If the above ratings offered pluses (+), I would give them. They were certainly earned. A few notables: HONESTY. Examples: (1) After Cipriano did precise measuring for the sod purchase, he told me that his measurements were off from those done for the work proposal. It turned out that LESS sod was needed (hence, less expense) then first thought. (2) I could choose 15 gallon Birch trees or 24" boxed Birch trees. Cipriano advised that he could find 15-gal trees that were close in size to the more expensive 24" boxed trees. He did! DEDICATION. After Cipriano was paid in full, he returned to adjust the sprinklers and the timers. He told me he would come back yet again to readjust the watering schedule! PROFESSIONAL. From the first contact with Cipriano's company, during the course of the projects, and AFTER payment-in-full, I have had every call to the office or Cipriano's direct line either answered directly or received a quick call-back to my message. Cipriano is one of a kind. I will recommend him (and already have) to family and friends.

We called Cipriano to come give an estimate for weekly garden and lawncare because our previous gardener disappeared. He showed up exactly when he said he would, gave us a very detailed explanation of what his services will entail as well as other special projects his company is capable of doing should we need it in the future. Integrity, reliability, exceptional workmanship, and very competitive pricing is what you get with C. Perez Landscaping. As a newbie to the world of house flipping I had used a non-licensed landscape contractor for my first few projects, whom I had known and used for my personal residence over the past 10 years. In the world of flipping though, my insurance company required use of licensed and insured contractors, and so the search began. Of the three I contacted from Angie's List for quoting of a residential project in Encino, Cipriano Perez came in with the best price, and was the only contractor who continued to follow up with me after delivery of the quote to see if I had any questions or concerns. It was an easy choice to go with Cipriano and his team. The first project in Encino involved resodding of nearly 2000 square feet of front yard, planting of about 30 ficus along a fence line, and planting of other flowers and plants to accent a barren spot near the driveway and entry sidewalk. I told him what I envisioned for the barren spot, but ultimately I fully entrusted the plant selection and placement to him. His work was completed within the time schedule that I asked of him, and the overall enhancement to the property was spectacular. Even better, his price was 20% lower than what was quoted by my original non-licensed and non-insured landscape contractor. For me the end result was a successful sale of the property within 5 days of being listed on the market, and much of that was due to the result of C. Perez Landscaping and their exceptional work enhancing the grounds. The second project involved another investment property in Tarzana that required rebuilding of about 20' of cinder-block/stucco wall, sodding of about 150 sf of yard, planting of several bushes and ficus around the property perimeter, and planting of several bougainvillea. He also addressed many existing barren spots in the grass with seed and fertilizer and re-worked the irrigation system. Again the work was completed within my timeline, and at a very reasonable price. Amazingly, there was still interior work being performed on the house after the landscaping was completed, but the outside looked so good that we had a tremendous amount of people stopping by wanting to look at the property even before it was formally listed. End result, the property sold within 4 days of being listed on the market. At the same time these first two projects were going on, C. Perez Landscaping also completed work on another project involving debris and landscaping removal. I cannot begin to describe how daunting this project was; the condition of the property was utterly discusting, overgrown, and involved about 18,000 square feet of land, much of it hillside below the residence. You literally needed one of those yellow environmental suits to visit this property. Cipriano and his team filled three 40 yd trash bins with dead plants, trees, and an array of debris, including broken furniture, wooden pallets, tires, dog houses, bathtubs, and all sorts of other materials scattered all over the grounds. They also pruned those plants and trees designated to remain. This seriously was a major undertaking! Now here's the best part: C. Perez Landcaping saved me nearly 40% from what my original non-licensed, non-insured landscape contractor had quoted, and completed it within three days. I personally felt that Cipriano had under-bid the job, and felt guilty about it. Consequently, I offered Cipriano a $500 bonus after the job was completed AND HE WOULDN'T ACCEPT IT! His position was that he did not want to be paid more than what he bid for the job. Obviously, he was considering the benefit of our long-term partnership rather than just a single job, but the integrity I experienced from him on this particular day was impeccable. At that moment, he instantly earned my business for life. C. Perez Landscaping continues to work on other investment projects of mine, and I have since released the services of the landscape maintenance service for my own residence and started using Cipriano's team. In fact they were here yesterday resodding badly needed areas and reworking and fixing irrigation problems, and it was triple-digit heat with very abnormal high humidity; a horrendous day to be working outside. But they worked through it, and needless to say the price for the work was very reasonable. From my experience of work with these guys over the past 6 weeks, you simply cannot go wrong with C.Perez Landscaping!

They were great. Cipriano came out and gave me a quote the same day I contacted him. His quote was half the price of the other quote I received, so I decided to go with him. They did such a good job!! It looks so great! I will definitely call him again if I need anymore landscaping.

Our house was professionally landscaped 5 years ago (by another company) and the previous gardening service had really let it get out of control. They spent an average of 20 minutes here and just did the basics. Mr. Perez has been very communicative, in person, on the phone and by email. He has done everything that we discussed (and more) and his crew spends a lot more time doing the detail work that had been missed in the past (weeding, checking sprinklers, trimming ivy, etc.). Prior to finding Mr. Perez, I had asked many people about their gardening service. None of them were satisfied and had the same complaints that I had. This was the first time I had used Angie's List. I highly recommend his service. It is clearly evident that he cares about his customers and his reputation. As I am writing this, his crew is working here and have been for an hour. In my experience, this is not the norm.

Cipriano is the best. He has real gardening expertise, is completely reliable, and genuinely commited to his work and his clients. I suffered for so long with a horrible gardener before finding Cipriano- what a difference. Great guy, and my garden has never looked better.
