Description of Work: I called T.J. and asked for help. She said that she happened to be free. She immediately came to our home in the S.F Valley, and she fixed the problem, had a few recommendations and she was gone within an hour. I had waited two weeks for my former computer repairperson. She was wonderful. I would rate her all A's & Outstandings! The problem was a failure of hyperlinks in my email. She knew what to do and repaired it immediately.

My job includes convincing people to do what I think is best, but every time I've called Dell in the past, they've ended up annoying me to the extent that I would not call them back for the same problem again even if they told me there would be no charge. I couldn't bear the thought of spending another 2 - 3 hours on the phone with someone who did not listen to what I said and tried to talk me into buying something new, while somehow managing to exact a fee out of me by claiming the problem was software (which I did not have a warranty for) and not hardware (which I did have a warranty for). But I know so little about computers, that for all I knew they were right. I was working in the other room when Theresa called Dell, but kept an ear on what she was saying because I was interested in hearing how she handled Dell. By only the second person she was able to convince them it was a hardware problem and only because she knew what she was talking about, she was able to convince them to honor their warranty and give me a FREE new mother board and RAM (11 days before the expiration of my hardware warranty). Two days later I got a call from the Dell tech and just two days after that I had my new motherboard and RAM installed. Everything works great and I'm using that computer to write this report. Theresa did not fare as well when she tried to convince Dell to refund the $129 they'd charged me for my "software" problem. But I'm sure I couldn't have done any better. She had to talk to another 5 different people and be on the phone another two hours for that and only lost her temper twice. Even then she was a lot nicer than I would have been. I expect my letter to Michael Dell (the CEO of the company) to go out this week. Hopefully he's interested in keeping a good relationship with someone who has four computers (two of which are Dell), and who recently needed to buy a computer as a gift - and bought a Dell.
Description of Work: My desk top computer at home was shutting down suddenly and for no reason when I was using it. I first called Dell (since it's a Dell computer). They told me it was a software problem and charged me $129 to screw around with the computer and then tell me it was fixed. By the next day it started the whole thing over again. The thought of calling them again made me sick, so I looked on Angie's List and found this company. Within 5 minutes Theresa realized it was a hardware problem, checked online and learned that my hardware warranty was expiring in 11 days, and called Dell, convincing them to honor their warranty by putting in a new mother board and RAM. She also hooked up a booster so I get a better connection with my WiFi throughout the house and got rid of an annoying request to register that popped up every time I turned on my computer (although I'd registered twice already). I know that seems petty, but that one little annoyance every time I booted up my computer, really drove me nuts.

Teresa did a great job getting everything done in a very efficient manner. She saw what was wrong right away and was able to fix things up without a problem. She was also patient with any questions I had and explained everything in a way I could understand. I really appreciated that.
Description of Work: A variety of issues -- one computer had viruses, one printer wouldn't print and my laptop wasn't connecting to the Internet.

My son's computer needed to have its memory wiped and viruses eliminated. Since there was extra time after the job was done, Teresa also fixed a harmless but annoying error message on my husband's computer.

Teresa is amazing! She worked her magic, was professional and personal. Estimating the length of time it will take to fix a problem isn't a science, so be flexible when scheduling. She's the best in the business!

Teresa came to my office, I explained a difficult problem I was having which Dell support could not fix and asked her to proceed with Dell's recommendations. Instead she located the problem quickly without having to do a major files backup and Windows reinstall as Dell had recommended. She was able to do a Windows repair, which got to the heart of the real problems, and charged me for 3 hours work. I am fairly sure that her hourly price is within the average range, not high. Of course, I wish it was lower, because I will definitely use her again. Extremely, nice, helpful person who obviously excels in this area. She and her company live up to their superb ratings.

The technicians were very helpful in selecting a new DVD burner and explaining the conditions of erasing my hard drive. They were very knowledgeable, courteous and man did they work quickly. I will take my computer back to this shop if it ever needs more work.
Description of Work: I had the shop replace my old DVD burner with a new one and I had my hard drive erased. I dropped my computer off in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon.

I called busylife in the morning and Teresa was able to come out to my house that afternoon (not always the case). She was really great. She blazed through making my wireless router work with the cable module recently installed by the cable company. She then proceeded to fix up a bunch of miscellaneous items on my computer itself making full use of my $85 an hour minimum. She also showed me a few tips to make my computer use a bit easier in the future. It turned out to be a very productive, and enjoyable hour for me. Teresa is living proof that "geeks" can also have a fun personality. The overall experience should have a write in rating level of AA++ for busylife computer services!
