The worst experience of my entire life. I am still traumatized by this event. This is the first time I have ever hired a moving company, and believe me, I learned my lesson. These clowns are worse than the 3 Stooges. If only I could tell you all the story. You probably wouldn't believe me. It's just too insane.
Description of Work: I contracted with Budget Van Lines to move from Dallas to Springville, AL. To my surprise, they subcontracted another carrier out of Atlanta, Mack Relocation Services, Inc. What a horrible experience! Mack Relocationtook over 18 hours to load my possessions. Then, the day of the delivery to my new home, Mack tells me they cannot deliver to my new home because his 18 wheeler cannot make it up the mountain and into my driveway. They had to put all my possessions onto a smaller truck to deliver to my new home, and they charged me an additional $1162, which Jim Mack demanded I pay in cash! To add insult to injury, I had to drive him to Trussville, 30 miles away, to rent a smaller U-Haul truck. It took him and his crew all night and until the next morning to finish unloading. I hadn't slept in two days, and when it came time to do the final check of damages, he rushed me through and dismissed everything I pointed out. For example, they had a terrible time trying to get my desk into the upstairs office. They stood it on end, twisted it, gouged holes in the hardwood flooring and rubbed the finish off the door frame. Then, when I showed him the damage, he said it could be buffed out!!! They destroyed my Henredon dining room table. The gouges on the top and sides are irreparable. I have statements from furniture experts attesting to this. They destroyed our wine cabinet, which was brand new at the time of the move. Mr. Mack said it could be fixed with a little glue! And after they left, we found they had taken our Magliner hand truck (dolly), and our flatbed furniture mover. I called him immediately and he denied taking the items. After I called the U-Haul dealer and found that the items were NOT on the returned vehicles, Mr. Mack admittted to taking them, and promised to return them the following week. It is now December, and I still do not have my Magliner or flatbed mover. I have called him a dozen times, each time to be told my items would be returned within a couple days. All lies. Multiple calls to Budget Van Lines have been unreturned. I am to the point where I feel I need to seek legal counsel. We had purchased an insurance policy for this move, but many of the items they damaged, he did not put down on the final report. And I have not been able to get an appraisal of my Henredon table, which is probably unreplaceable, and worth between $8 to $10 thousand. If you are going to move, do NOT use Budget. And avoid Mack Relocation at all costs. These people lie, cheat, steal, and I am convinced they are experts at doing this.
