Bobcat Carpet & Fabric Care

My husband found the company on Angie's List, hired them and when they arrived to clean the carpet they contacted me to suggest that I use an additional cleaning method to remove the pet stains. I took their advice. It was an additional cost, but well worth it. We were renting this apartment and the landlord, who we had a long and very good relationship with, had just installed the carpet less than 1 year ago. Unfortunately, the carpet underwent a few very bad stains from the pets. We wanted to leave the carpet looking as new as possible for our former landlord. The carpet looked brand new after they serviced it! My husband and I were both very pleased!

When i called to make my appointment one of the owners had taken my call and that put me instantly at ease with them. Made the apt for friday at 9 am. At 9 am on friday the were here. Came in and got right to work. Moved the furniture to get underneath every thing. Took all about 2 hours to do the entire house as they got right down to it. Cleaned and got all the stains and spots out the carpet and did it in a flash. I was very happy with the work and promptness and would use them again int he future.

Easy to communicate with office staff. People arrived on time and did a great job.

It went well. James was courteous, punctual and positive when he arrived for the estimate. He emailed me the estimate and responded to my questions by email. The cleaners waited for me after I called the company because I was running late. The carpeting looks better than I had hoped it would. I am pleased that I did not need to install new carpeting. The overall experience was convenient with minimal effort for me as I was also dealing with 3 other professionals or contractors at the site.

They did a very nice job. Everything came out clean and smelling nice dispite the two couch sleeping dogs! I could still smell dog if I really tried but the additional cost was not worth the possible gain for pet odor treatment to me. Two items customers should know: they set up in my driveway which kept the whole process outside and my house free of all the gear. I moved cars to accomadate. This may not be possible for some and you should discuss with vendor. The second thing is that I was shocked by the price. Btw 27 & 30 dollars a foot for furniture was quoted and ours was of course at the high end. It adds up to a pretty big bill! We had gone many years allowing the dogs on the furniture so we bit the bullet. The dogs won't be on the furniture from here on out. That bill has cured us!

I called Bobcat and they quickly returned the call and set up an estimate visit for a convenient time. The person who showed up [James Casas] was prompt and efficient. He emailed me an estimate and I called to set up a pickup. The crew showed up exactly on time and picked up the drapes. I was called and emailed about a time for the drapes to be returned and rehung [they called the day before to re-confirm the appointment] and once again they showed up on time and efficiently re-hung the drapes and repaired the loose bracket. Everything was smooth, efficient and satisfactory.

This was a RIP-OFF and a TERRIBLE experience. First, for some background, when my wife had them come out to give us an estimate, they explained to her the process by which they clean the chairs, etc. The process entails using a very large and very powerful vacuum that connects to their truck. The vacuum sprays water on the fabric, and then they thoroughly vacuum the fabric several times until it is clean. In the initial meeting, my wife showed them other pleated valences in our house that we periodically clean ourselves with a regular vacuum - a process which takes us 5 minutes. Bobcat told her that the valences that we vacuumed looked fine and that there was no need to have them cleaned by Bobcat. But they said that 3 other pleated valences, which we had not vacuumed ourselves, should be professionally cleaned by them. By this, we were led to believe, based on how they explained their cleaning process, that the valences would be cleaned more thorougly than if we had vacuumed them ourselves, that they would be cleaned in the same manner by which the chairs/ottoman were to be cleaned, and that in order to do so, they would obviously need to take down the valences. My wife was never told otherwise. The estimate that we received further led us to believe this as well, as the cleaning quote for the valences was $240 of the total $685 fee (over 1/3rd of the total cost just for the valences.) Based on their representations, we agreed to the total cost and signed a contract. When they came to clean, two guys were here for perhaps two hours, and they worked very hard indeed while cleaning the chairs/ottoman (which took probably 90% of their time.) In fact, as evidence of how thoroughly and deeply they cleaned the chairs/ottoman, their strong vacuum actually grabbed the fabric on one chair, and tore the fabric when he pushed the vacuum forward. (They immediately agreed to fix the torn chair, and they did an absolutely beautiful job on the repair. I definitely commend them for that.) HOWEVER, the THE CLEANING OF THE VALENCES TOOK NO MORE THAN 15 MINUTES. When we asked how they could have possibly cleaned the valences so fast, they said that they never take down or unfold valences; rather, they just vacuum them while they are still up on the wall. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE DO WHEN WE VACUUM OUR OTHER VALENCES OURSELVES (and that they told us we had perfectly cleaned with our own vacuum!), and this is why IT TOOK THEM 15 MINUTES! There is absolutely no way that the pleated valences can be cleaned as thoroughly as the chairs when the valences were still hanging, especially after seeing how much effort went into cleaning the fabric on the chairs. We feel completely misled. This is obviously easy money for Bobcat and how they make up for the amount of effort that goes into cleaning chairs. When I asked the owner how they can possibly justify charging $240 for 15 minutes of work to essentially vacuum the pleated fabric that was still hanging, he responded that this is how they do it and that NOBODY HAD EVER COMPLAINED BEFORE! I told him that I while I very rarely complain about anything, I AM COMPLAINING NOW, I feel RIPPED-OFF by them and that they MISLED my wife - but he didn't seem to care. The cost difference isn't going to make or break me, but its a matter of principal. My recommendation is that you use a company that doesn't ever try to mislead or rip-off its customers.

When I called, I spoke directly to the owner who was answering phones because it was days before Thanksgiving and he was super busy. A very pleasant man, he was honest that it wasn't possible to get to my house before the holidays, but he gave me a good estimate over the phone, offered to view a picture if I emailed one (my dog vomited on the sofa and several of its cushions). He gave me some tips and caution to spot clean it until they could arrive. It did cost a lot of money, but I had that price in my head from the phone conversation. The workers were very cautious with my wood floor and furniture, and the sofa and chair look like new again. So I'm very pleased and feel that other positive reviews were right on for this company. I would say that thorough, quality work is worth paying for.

Update to company response: I am amazed that this company has such high ratings - their response to my complaint is a complete lie, and they are taking advantage of Angie's List members by responding in such a way. I would first like to address the fact that I never received a call the day before they thought they were scheduled - if I had received a call I would have known they were showing up on the day that I was not expecting them! And why did I not receive a call? Because we had booked the appointment on Wednesday which is the day before they thought they were supposed to be there. It is important to note that every Thursday morning I have a housekeeper at the house and I would never schedule a carpet cleaner to come on Thursday mornings. The housekeeper was there when they showed up and she was talking to the crew so they can confirm that. What I'm sure happened is that when we were going over the different availabilities over the phone I thought we were talking about Friday and the woman on the phone thought we were talking about Thursday. It is an honest mistake and this company is being so nasty and unreasonable about it!!! Also, the man I originally spoke to about scheduling on the weekends told me specifically that the minimum is $50 more, and that could possibly have to do with my location, but that is what I was told. Why in the world would I lie about that? I did not demand (note: I never demand things because I am a reasonable human being) that they come out on Friday morning - when I spoke to the nasty woman on the phone I wanted nothing to do with this company and proceeded to book another company immediately after hanging up with her. I do not appreciate the company response in which they accuse me of changing my mind over schedules and demanding things - how disingenuous of them. Do not do business with this company - there are plenty of other companies out there!!!

The people arrived on time for both the estimate and the actual cleaning. They were pleasant and professional. They worked quickly and efficiently. I would definitely use them again.

We had used Bobcat once before to clean carpets in our son's apartment and were well pleased, so we arranged for Bobcat to clean the carpets on our home. We had not had our carpets cleaned for some time because we couldn't find a good carpet cleaner until we found Bobcat. Our carpets were very dirty and Bobcat did an amazing job cleaning them. It was like night and day. The two employees cleaning the carpets were very personable, knowledgeable, and hard working. They came exactly when they said they would. We couldn't be happier with the work they did, and we got the Angie's List discount.

I had an excellent experience working with them. They were able to clean two rugs that take a terrible beating with food spills, snow, ice, etc. The rugs had not been cleaned in about two years and they were able to get them clean again.

They showed up on time, did it for the right price and did a good job! I plan to use them again in the next week. I also received a discount for being an AL member.

They are great and professional. They come in and they know what they are going to do. You don't even have to worry about anything. They will move stuff around and they have things to protect your doors. They protect your furniture. A couple of different crews have been out and both of them are excellent. Their work is great and they do a first class job. I like meticulousness and when they come in they are professional, they get right to work, they get out of here quick and every movement they make is purposeful.

The only problem was getting here before they arranged and missing getting into house on time and letting me know what was going on. Once we axtually maet things went very smoothly.

I have had a great experience with them. I have used them more than once because they are quick and efficient. They show up when they say they are going to show up. They do a good job.

I have never had anyone do such a thorough job. They were able to identify and tell me what stains were on my carpet. They were even able to identify stains I didn't even know I had. They also deodorized everything in my house. They were one of the best carpet cleaners I've ever had the pleasure of hiring.

Excellent service and workmanship. The workers were right on time, tidy and professional. The price was reasonable for the work done.

They did all this work for a good price and I thought they were great. They showed up on time and went over and above what they were expected to do and did a wonderful job doing so.

The two workers arrived right on time, were courteous, and did an excellent job. Bobcat is not the cheapest company, but they did a great job. And they didn't try to persuade me to purchase other services. I would definitely use them again.

We selected Bobcat Carpet based on Angies List recommendations, and were not disappointed. The two workers were courteous, professional, and did an excellant job in all respects. The carpet had a couple of quite dirty areas which cleaned up very well. The price seemed a little high at first, but we felt it was actually quite reasonable considering the high quality of work that was done. We received the Angies List discount.

A+! They are terrific. They are thorough, honest, and gave a great assessment. They come out and look at everything you want to have cleaned. They give you a quote right then and there. They have done fabulous work for me over the years. When the furniture is delivered they go over everything that was included in the estimate.

They cleaned about ten of my area rugs. They take them to the shop to do the actual cleaning and once they are finished they returned them. I was very happy with their service. They did a good job.

They came right on time and finished in a timely manner. They were professional and explained everything. They told us the price before they started. They treated the spots. The carpet was a mess. Now, even though there are a few faint spots, most of the spots are gone, there is no odor and it looks good.

They were efficient and professional.
