The person who helped me ( I think he was the owner) seemed, from the moment I walked in (with a greeting and a smile), to be annoyed with me. He was rather abrupt, answered exactly what I asked and no more, had no suggestions, and little patience with my questions. He did a rough sketch on a piece of scratch paper, then jotted down a price. When I realized he had no intention of giving me his notations and written price, I asked for some paper and a pen or for the paper he'd used. He seemed surprised that I wanted it, but did hand it over. At no time did I get the feeling that he actually wanted my business or expected me to return. The glass I wanted was going to be lots more expensive than the one he offered, which solidified my decision to go elsewhere, since neither his attitude nor his price were satisfactory. My next stop was another glass company about a mile or so away. Also a small, busy business. But when I walked in there (Brothers Glass), I was greeted with a smile, offered a seat, and given as much time as I needed to make my decision. The contrast was stark and of course I used the other company for my shower door (and the same glass was quite a bit less expensive, although the door was the same price). To be fair, reviews on another site were mostly positive (with a few complaints about attitude) and those reviews were why I went to them in the first place. And maybe I got him on a bad day, but buying a shower door was a new experience for me, and I decided that if he was impatient with me from the start, I didn't have confidence that he'd take care of me if there were installation or appointment problems.
