In retrospect, it seems that Jim, for whatever reason, once he saw my modest but "well-kept home" in a modest but "well-kept neighborhood" never intended from the outset to send me an estimate. He expressed surprise at the "well manicured lawns" in this neighborhood, expressing that he recently had been to a home not too far away and it was "uggghhhh." Then after his inspection he asked if I'd seen the two Angie's List entries giving his company an "F". He said "that was me. The people were 'difficult' so i never gave them an estimate. Sometimes its just not worth the money." Wow. His comments now make sense in light of the fact that apparently I'm not going to get an estimate, either. And i can tell you that i was so impressed by his apparent knowledge and punctuality for the estimate appointment that i wasn't going to get a third estimate, i was simply going to go with Bill West Plumbing. And i definitely had the money to pay for the job. Now i'll go somewhere else. On Angie's site, there's a warning which says the company didn't service "my area" which i thought odd since the company was so close. I got a nice email then from Jennifer who said "you're right on the border, we do service your area." So i invested time and effort to follow up for a couple more weeks to get the estimate appointment, which turned out to be a waste of time. I am insulted!

Bill West Plumbing sent a repairman named Jimbo to replace our instant hot water dispenser on our kitchen sink. I had purchased the replacement unit at Home Depot. Jimbo was on time, very knowledgeable, and did an excellent job. I would use Bill West Plumbing again.

Bill West Plumbing are the best ones I ve run into. I ve had a bunch of negatives with some other people. Their workers are professional and on task. The finished product was what I expected.

We have had repeated efforts to clean out a bathroom sink drain which has been slow for years, despite numerous attempts at plunging, drain cleaners, and other plumbers' efforts. Roger, the plumber who made the call, brought up an electric plumbing snake (also called a drain auger), placed it carefully on a tarp he also brought to protect the tile floor from scratches, plugged it in, and went to work. In a matter of 15-20 minutes he had cleaned out the line, tested it several times, and also had us test it. He also mentioned that there was hair blocking the drain, thus pinpointing the problem. With time left in the hour, he agreed to install a flush valve in a Toto toilet that we had received from the manufacturer, but didn't know how to install in order to cure a problem of the toilet running on its own from time to time. He also did this very efficiently, checked the toilet to make sure it was flushing properly, and cleaned up. The final bill was the quoted hourly charge of $90 plus $10 for the snake equipment minus a $5 (5%) discount that new Angie's List customers receive for the first service call, for a total of $95.00.

I wanted to reconnect a gas line to two back-to-back fireplaces. I asked several companies to give me and estimate on how to do it. They said they would probably have to drill into the bricks and it would cost many thousands of dollars, if it could be done. When Jim of Bill West plumbing came out for an estimate, they went under the house, assessed the situation, and told me what needed to be done for $600. They did the job on time, put a vent on my hot-water heater pipe (which I didn't notice needed to be done) and straightened the metal shed which housed the hot-water heater without me asking.

They seemed adequate and whatever they were supposed to do they did. They were there when they said they would be and finished on time. When they first brought the object the color of the cover was not what I had ordered. I had them take it back and then they came back with the correct one in a couple of weeks so they were willing to work with me on that.

These guys were fantastic! They arrived promptly each morning, assessed each day's work and then put their heads down and got it done. Professional, courteous and hard-working. There was some noise from a jack-hammer they use to pack the dirt back in, but the lawn looks like they never touched it. The disruption was minimal given the size and difficulty of the job. The sewer was "out of service" for only a couple of hours, once when they changed over to the new pipes and then when the city inspector came out.

I never received an estimate, I called and was told it was going out the following day, but still have not received an estimate two weeks later. If you want the business and take the time to come out and see the project, you would think they would supply the estimate to the customer.

They were respectful of the premises, polite, and thorough. We had a small hitch in which the hot water did not work the day after they worked, but they came back immediately, apologized profusely, and rechecked everything twice. They had turned the water back on, but had to test the new line, and that stopped the hot water function from working. They made absolutely sure everything was all right before they left. I would definitely use them again.

The repairs went well, plumber arrived on time, went right to work and cleaned area after work was complete. Pricing was reasonable and I will certainly use this company again.

It was an overall excellent experience.

We called because for a few weeks our water heater was very noisy. Sounded like fireworks popping. When the serviceman came, it wouldn't make the noise, and he found nothing wrong with it. He charged for coming out, but said he would deduct it from his next visit.

They are always professional and courteous. They always answer my questions. They come in and do the job right and they have very fair rates!!!

They have been good. They unclogged a drain. They are professional. They are solid. No matter who comes out they are good. They don't rip you off. I would recommend him and use him again.

The assessor was nice, and that was it.

The project went great. They started within two days of agreeing to the contract, it took 4 days of work with 2 guys each day to complete the work. They just did the rough in, I'll be completing the plumbing of the sinks, washer/dryer, and stove. The work was professional, they cleaned the work area each day, and provided good advice for what I'll have to do to complete the work.

Very well. The pipe was lengthy and they had enough line to do the job. They came, explained what they needed to do and cleaned up after themselves.

Repairman, Max, arrived on time and prepared to work. He very carefully assessed all the problems and suggested possible solutions. Work began immediately. These repairs required 3 visits by the plumbers, they scheduled all in a timely fashion and followed through without any problems. They also recommended a drywall repairman and a mold specialist to complete the job. Both of the persons referred responded immediately and both provided quality work. I have never experienced such wonderful service and will continue to be a customer. The C grade for price is not meant to be a negative, I simply have no comparison and feel that I received and paid for quality work.

Well, the new pump didn't work initially, but that was due to an additional electrical issue that wasn't Fred's fault. In fact, I was astonished at the extra time and effort he took trying to troubleshoot it, consulting on the phone with our electrician and re-checking his own work. In the end, he only charged for the first hour and a half (I'd previously received an estimate from another plumber who was going to charge for three hours of work). When the electrician came and fixed the line, the pump worked perfectly.

They came out the next day and evaluated/fixed the problem. A national "Rooter" company gave us an estimate of $6000 to repair the problem which they said would involve tearing up our front yard and the street to replace all the pipes, then repair the damage.

Got in and got the work done. Efficient. Keep up the excellent work.

He was really good. He was professional, knowledgeable and efficient. They do the work quickly and competently. I have never had a bad experience

I had a good experience with this company. They came out to check on pipes that I thought were illegally installed but they were okay. They were on time and did a good job. I have no problems with any of my plumbing.

There was a wrong plug for the electrical since they left since they don't do that type of work. I've seen their trucks around all the time, but this is the first time that we've used them. Their price did surprise me, I thought it was a little high.
