I clearly asked him in a text message for a quote on how much it would cost to route about 6 feet of new electric wires and also route the existing Direct TV cable wire inside the wall, and install new outlets behind my new wall mounted flat screen TV to plug it into. I even sent him pictures of the job with my text. I still have these pictures of before the job and after the job. Leonard said $165, and I said ok, and he came out to start the job. He seemed really nice, like the other Angie's List reviews said, but he did not use a stud sensor and hacked up the wall and paint where he was going to install an outlet. He was unable to install the outlet in that spot, because there was a stud behind it. So he cut a different hole in the wall and installed the outlet in a different spot. Then he took the Direct TV cable that was coming out of the floor and instead of routing it through the floor and inside the wall from under the floor (out of view), he ran about a foot of cable from the floor through the air and right into an exposed hole in drilled into the wall about 4 inches up from the floor! I asked him to reroute the Direct TV Cable inside the wall like we originally texted and discussed because this cable running outside the wall is not my definition of inside the wall. I even said I would do the patching if he had to make some new holes to get the Direct TV Cable all the way inside the wall and he said that would be a whole different job that he would have to charge me more for! He stopped returning my text messages. The whole point of me paying him to hide the wires inside the wall was for looks and Leonard's job from Balque Electric looks really bad in many places. Now the cable is still floating in the air, I have exposed holes in my wall and I am out $165.
Description of Work: Terrible. Leonard did not finish hiding the Direct TV cable inside the wall for the flat screen TV that I paid him to do. He stopped responding to my texts. He also didn't use a stud sensor so he hacked up the wall and paint where he was going to install an outlet because there was a stud in the way of the first spot. He also drilled a hole right in the middle of the wall and fed the cable in right were everyone can see it. He took my money and didn't finish the job we agreed to on text message and phone calls. Now I have to pay someone else to finish his job and repair his damage.

Mr. Balque was professional and communicated throughout services provided. Mr. Balque explained every procedure that was performed. He also showed operable outcomes of all electrical services through demonstration. I called early morning hours and described the electrical problems. Mr. Balque had a prior service commitment. He explained he would contact me with updates. Which he did. Mr. Balque still arrived the same day I contacted him, after completing prior commitment, and corrected all of the electrical problems before leaving.
Description of Work: 1. Replaced 4 electrical receptacle outlets in the follows areas: kitchen, living room, and bedroom. 2. Changed kitchen light switch. 3. Removed dish washer outlet in kitchen.

The job went very well. The breakers were updated & the service panel was enlarged to include more breakers for a new garage./ Leonard went through the attic & put in new wires. Leonard was on time & no hassle. He does a lot of research which helps in planning for different jobs. He even knows which bulbs are better to use. Very nice work. The bathroom units work great. the switches function as expected. Later in 2011 Balque checked on garbage disposal unit,/ a wire had come loose & he fixed it. no problems since. I have recommended this company to my friends & they have been very happy with his work.
Description of Work: Balque updated /new breakers for a large service panel (30 breakers/home size over 3,000 sq ft) from the 60s to the present. Leonard Balque also added extra circuit breakers for a garage we were adding later. We had 3 bathrooms re-fitted w/fan/heater/light combos and toggle switches. everything was done correctly the 1st time & passed the city inspection. no problem. Leonard also gave us estimates & suggestions on how to save on our heating bill and how to get more light from our existing outlets, inside and outside of the house. A good honest person & reasonably priced. very helpful when you ask questions. an overall good experience. We will use this company again.
