It was wonderful. Brad was on time for the estimate and for each of the 3 days that he worked at my home. He explained everything to me and even recommended people to do aspects of the job that he did not cover. He came out on a Saturday, gave me an estimate on Sunday and started work on Monday. When I returned home each evening, the work area was very neat and clean. And on the last day, he even rolled my trash cans to the curb because they were heavy from the debris from the job. He was very professional and helpful!
Description of Work: Brad removed the cracked plaster underneath an exterior stairwell. He replaced 2- 2x4 studs and then lathed and re-plastered the entire area. He also patched a section of an interior wall and resprayed the textured finish. And at no additional cost, he plastered several holes on the exterior of the building and patched a crack in the driveway and a railing on the porch.

Brad came about a week ago to give the estimate. We then scheduled the repair date by email. Brad and his assistant arrived on time, and finished the job in about 3 hours. After they were finished, he asked me to come out and inspect the job. Brad was very friendly throughout the whole process. I would not think twice before hiring him again, or recommending him to a friend. The whole experience was great.
Description of Work: My business had recently removed the old storefront doors/windows, and replaced them with a large roll-up door (about 8' by 14'). There was significant damage to the stucco where the old doors/windows had been. Brad and his assistant patched everything up, and it looks great!

Brad showed up on time, did a thorough job of chipping off the old stucco, filling cracks and restuccoing, he did a great job, I don't think anyone has done that before, they just stuccoed over the cracks, never cleaning them out.

The entire process was very smooth. Brad came and gave an estimate. I researched the process and it was clear that he was very knowledgeable. We agreed on a date (he is very easy to work with on scheduling). He came over and took enormous care to keep things clean. The repair looks perfect.
Description of Work: Brad applied new plaster to an area on our ceiling after the plaster separated from the lath and fell down. He placed metal lath in the defect and then put on a scratch coat followed by a finish coat. Before starting the work, he covered everything very carefully.

Brad was very responsible, and communicated well. That is a big plus for me, as many previous vendors just don't show up, or don't let you know what is going on if problems arise. He did a very good job, and was also a very pleasant person. He came and patched the floor area first, then began work on the garage stucco. He also kindly patched a small area inside my condo with the extra materials, and did not charge me. He cleaned up after himself and checked with me to make sure I was satisfied.

Brad was a very courteous person and a pleasure to do business with. He was willing to work around my busy schedule and completed the work in the time he had estimated. All of the plaster work is very professional and matches the original plaster and stucco perfectly He was very tidy and cleaned up after himself. He also noticed two broken concrete steps and repaired them at no additional cost. I highly recommend B&J Plastering and will use them again.
Description of Work: Partial re-plaster of utility room ceiling to accommodate a new tankless water heater vent. Patch plaster walls in utility room for washer/dryer hookups. Brad is great. He is punctual and EXTREMELY honest. I initially assumed that I needed my entire house re-stuccoed as a previous contractor did not tell me otherwise. However, Brad assured me that I only needed some areas repaired (which obviously saved me thousands of dollars) and he did an excellent job both making the repairs and matching the stucco. I intend to have Brad back in the future to perform some interior patching as his quote for that work was half that of an earlier quote from another source.
Description of Work: Brad plastered several areas around the exterior of my home that sustained various types of damage and stuccoed to match. He also pressure washed the exterior.

Brad is an honest and knowledgeable professional. He showed up on time, was efficient, and did a beautiful job repairing some exterior stucco areas on our home. One area was soft from water damage and for the other area he corrected someone else's sloppy work. I would call him again for any stucco or plastering job. He even fixed little areas that needed touch ups for no additional charge.

Brad came to my home and gave me an estimate for the work. We scheduled the date and time to perform the work using e-mail. He was able to fit me into his schedule within a week of the estimate. He arrived on time, performed the work flawlessly, and was very clean and neat. He also patched a couple of other holes that he observed. The cost was exactly as he estimated, $400.00. He recommended a painter to paint the walls and ceiling to cover the plastering he did.

Great. I will definitely call Brad again next time. He came by within 2 days to give a free estimate which was delivered promptly. He was patient with our 3 year old twins' incessant questions. His bid was very fair. He showed up at 8am on the dot and everything was spotless when he and his assistant left around noon. Before he left, Brad walked us past each repair to offer advice (window caulking, etc.) and make sure we were satisfied. Our home was built in 1921 and we cannot tell where the original wall ends and Brad's repair begins. We found that having Brad and his assistant in our home was effortless and comfortable. Also, when scheduling the work, Brad explained that he was booked 2-3 weeks out. When I mentioned that, ideally, I wanted to complete the work while my kids were out of the house for day camp the following week, Brad accommodated our needs. It was about 10-12 days after he came by to give an estimate.
Description of Work: Brad patched 2 former vent holes (each approx. 20" x 28") to the crawl space because we recently updated our heating and a/c. He also repaired a plaster wall near a window which had leaked during the heavy rains 2 years ago, as well as another damaged area approximately 3' x 18". On the day he completed his work we asked about 2 other small repairs which he gladly took care of at the same time for only $30 extra.

Brad came in on a Sunday for an estimate and noted how terrible a job my electrician had done in patching the holes they left, and pointed out that had everything been done right that no sanding would have been necessary. As it was, all the holes that were patched had to be sanded down in order to be finished and textured, and everything had to be covered by drop cloths to keep the dust off. A week or so later, Brad found time in his schedule to do our job. I bought drop cloths and covered everything in my home. Brad got there right at 8 as scheduled and we let him in but then had to go to work. About 4.5 hours later Brad called to let me know he was done. While he was cleaning up I traveled the 2 miles from office to home and was very happy with the results. The texture is matched perfectly and you wouldn't know he was there, he cleaned everything up so well. Brad's price even came in under his estimate. Thanks!
Description of Work: Brad sanded and fixed the poor patching job done by my electrician, Dobbe Electric. He then matched the texture on the patches to my plaster walls. Brad worked on many holes in my walls and ceiling, including holes made for 3 ceiling fans and overhead lights in the living room and kitchen.

I represented buyers for a home in Brentwood, the smooth stucco on the side of the house was cracking, I suggested the buyers get a professional opinion for repair. It was a weekend and no one returned my calls. I looked on Angie's list and saw that Brad Migneault had good reports so I called him. He called back right away and came out on a Sunday! He felt the cracking is typical for the type of stucco. No work was done, but I will call him for all my plastering/stucco work in the future and recommend him to all my clients. He went beyond the call of duty in my opinion.

I was very impressed with the work that Brad and his son did! They matched the stucco so well that it is difficult to see where the old existing stucco ends and the new stucco begins. Brad also asked if I had any little areas that I wanted touched up and he took care of 2 other cracked areas because he had extra stucco left over. I would highly recommend B & J Plastering.

The one thing that I was most impressed with was their cleanliness. They laid down black tarp paper along the wall, and there was minimal clean up afterwards. Both the time estimate and dollar estimate were met. It took place over a week, with 2 days of brown coating, a couple of days to set, and then 2 days of finishing.

Brad was very professional in answering my calls, and in keeping our appointment. We had been thinking about re-stuccoing our entire house. Brad looked around the perimeter of the house, and was very honest with me. He said that the stucco was still in good shape, and that repainting would be a more reasonable way to go. He also explained all that would be involved in terms of protecting the patio and pool from the sandblasting, which would also contribute to the cost. The next step was to have his sandblast contractor come out to give an estimate on that portion of the work. After talking with Brad and thinking about it for a day, we decided to forgo the re-stucco, and to repaint instead. Therefore, we had Brad cancel the sandblast estimate, which means that we didn't get far enough in the process to receive an actual quote.
Description of Work: Brad came out to give me a quote on re-stuccoing the outside of the entire house.

We requested Brad to provide an estimate for our kitchen and bedroom. Due to time issues, we could not use Brad for the kitchen. His honesty and courtesy was very impressive. He even came out twice to look at the kitchen before demo and after to give us an accurate est. We actually hired him for the bedroom, but he suggested we ask the contractor who we hired for the kitchen since it might save us money and time. He could have kept the job, but was very professional and willing to give helpful advice.

Brad was very professional from start to finish. When we first met Brad, we got the impression that he was more of a craftsman / specialist rather than just someone to do the work, so we felt more comfortable going with him than the others we got estimates from. He did all the work himself, was always on time and was very thoughtful and thorough. Our house did present a challenge - a banana palm growing extremely close to the foundation that we wanted to save. Brad was careful to work around it and make sure the stucco would be water proof near the root. Another thing we liked - Brad would check in from time-to-time via email and responded to any questions we had. With our schedules we really loved that he communicated like this. Also, we weren't ready to paint the exterior yet, but Brad went out of his way to match the finish to the color were were going to paint the house. He was also friendly and recommended people who could help in other areas if our home we were working on.
Description of Work: When we moved in, our house needed some help in the front - it was stucco on one side and wood paneling on the other. And had a window on one side, but not on the other. So, to make things look more balanced, we added a window and decided to stucco both sides of the front. That's where Brad Migneault from B&J Plastering came in. He completed the stucco on the front. In addition, he filled in a space on one side of the house where a door had previously been, and did some repair on the other side where a storage shed had once been. We were very pleased with his work.
