Brad was absolutely great! I planned to have the exterior of my house painted. The painter recommended Brad for the plaster work I needed done. I gave Brad a call and we set up a time for hi to come by and give me an estimate. He is very friendly and very easy to talk to, I showed him what I needed to have fixed and what I was planning for my house. He gave me great advice and saw a few things that I missed. His prices were extremely reasonable and I will definitely use him again when I need more work done. I recommend him to everyone.
Description of Work: Brad performed stucco/plaster repairs on cracks, holes, and bad workmanship around my house and garage. He fixed about 10 sites around my house and garage. These ranged from cracks on the exterior walls to a large site that had been previously (and badly) plastered under my kitchen window. He removed an old electrical box from the back of my house and plastered over the hole. He also repaired part of the cement wall around my lawn.

Brad and his son are outstanding craftsmen and working with them was a pleasure. The patches were beautiful, smooth and undetectable. The exterior stucco color patches matched existing stucco perfectly. They appeared on time, cleaned up at the end of the workday, were pleasant to deal with, and referred other crafts people they knew to help with a couple of other projects. We continue to work with B&J Plastering and enthusiastically refer the company to our friends.

Really well. I found B&J Plastering/Brad Migneault on Angie's List and called him about getting an estimate. He came out to the house, looked at the work to be done and sent me a written estimate. It was some time before we could get to the actual work, and the cost increased slightly due to higher costs for materials. The work was done promptly, efficiently, and I'm extremely satisfied with the end result. Despite painstaking efforts to protect hardscape, etc., there was significant residue on the pavers next to the newly-stucco'd wall. I contacted Brad and he came right back to handle any clean-up. he called me when the work was finished to make sure I was satisfied (which I was). He was extremely easy to work with and very diligent. I recommend him highly.

We recently had our electrical redone and in doing so had to replace our outside electrical panel. This left a gaping hole in the side of our house all around the new panel. We had Brad come out and do an estimate and while he was there he went ahead and taped plastic around the hole because it was supposed to rain that day - what a nice guy! He gave a very fair price for the work and we told him we had to wait for the inspector to approve the electrical work before we could start patching and stucco. He was very flexible and patient with us while we went through multiple visits from the inspector. We were finally able to lath and Brad went above and beyond by doing so much more work than required. He also left samples of the materials he used and photos of his progress so we could show the inspector how the lath was done. We again had to wait for approval from the inspector before stucco could be added, and Brad was incredible at following up with us. Once we were approved for stucco, he came out right away and finished the job. The stucco looks great and perfectly matches our existing stucco. Brad uses the best materials, works quickly and efficiently, has a great attitude, and gets the job done right. We are very happy with the work he has done and would definitely use him again in the future.

Brad came out and looked at the work that needed to be done, and gave us a price. It was in line with others, and his reviews were excellent, so we chose him. He came out the first day with an assistant, and they did all the exterior work. They filled and stucco?ed big and small holes where we?d had new exterior wiring done. The electrician had replaced the small original 1950 surface-mounted breaker box with a huge flush-mounted new one, which left an open area from ground to roof about 2? wide. Brad used wire mesh to fill the area, and stucco?ed. He also put a new surface coat on some areas where the previous owner had done stucco work with the wrong material. Since we plan on painting the exterior later, he just put a light tint into the mix so it wasn?t stark white. The next day, Brad came by himself, and did all the interior work. The electricians had cut iPad-sized holes under every outlet or switch, to thread the new wiring, so we had about 30 of these holes, as well as some larger areas where the electricians had corrected not-to-code work done by the previous owners. There were also two places where I?d noticed some of the wall paint was loose, and in my enthusiasm began peeling it away (bad move), leaving 2?x3? areas which were noticeably different in thickness from the rest of the wall. Brad patched everything, using special stuff to adhere the new to the old, and sanded, vacuumed, etc. Finished the interior all in the second day. And on both days, he cleaned up everything so there was no dust, trash, or anything. We?ve been priming and painting and the repairs are excellent. Brad told us to use prime with paint rollers for rough walls, to give the new areas some texture, which the new plaster just wouldn?t have, compared to fifty years of paint on the rest of the wall areas. A job well done.

I got two estimates; Brad's was quite a bit lower for the same work (the other estimate was $2,840). We had some weather interruptions to getting the work completed but Brad was great about communicating during that.
Description of Work: Brad added stucco along one side (facing my building) of a new block wall, approximately 94 feet long, six feet high, in a two-stage process (brown coat, stucco finish).

We were thoroughly delighted and more than satisfied by the plastering completed by Brad and his team. Every question regarding the bidding and the work to be completed was answered. Not only did they plaster the designated areas, but went ahead and took the initiative to fill in other areas as needed. The finished product was such that you couldn't tell the area had been stuccoed. Brad even made a second trip to check out the results of the job. The best part was his bid was $350.00 less than the next bidder. It was a job well cone!!
Description of Work: Our old windows were replaced by new ones. The windows were completely covered with plastic as were the areas on the ground around the area to be stuccoed. The area around the windows needed to be wired and stuccoed. The previous paper and wiring on the windows were inspected and brought up to "par" as needed. The wiring of the corners were corrected and placed in the proper place for plastering. The area surrounding the windows were plastered smoothly and coincided with the rest of the building. The fast drying plaster was applied and the job was completed in a couple of hours. The clean up was thorough and complete.

Brad was truly great. He was very professional and nice and he did great work. It only took him a few hours. Since I wasn't home when he did most of the work, he even took pictures of each phase of the job (application of paper, wire and plaster) and emailed them to me so I could see what he did. I highly recommend him and would use him again.

We purchased a home that required mold remediation in the garage due to rain penetrating a crack in the plaster. Once the mold remediation had been completed, we needed to seal the crack. We called Brad at B&J Plastering due to his exceptional reviews on Angie's list, and we were very pleased with him. He called back promptly, was flexible to accommodate our schedules, and came quickly to give an estimate. We asked him to walk around the property to point out other spots that needed attention, and he gave us a very reasonable price to patch several spots on our home. His repairs were thorough and clean, and Brad was professional and friendly throughout. It was a small job, but we would not hesitate to call Brad again for larger jobs in the future.

This was a huge stucco job for Brad and his team. Years ago we remodeled our house and the black paper was not correctly applied where the old house and the new addition adjoined. Attempts at patching up the addition "seam" over the years did not work. We had leaks in too many spots to do patch jobs. Brad gathered together a team of two or three men who had done this type and size project many times. We had originally thought we might need to remove the stucco from 100% of the wall, but they believed that the problems were all above the window level. They gave us an estimate and described the exact materials that they would use - leak proof paper, etc. Brad and his team finished the job exactly on schedule and did a great job of matching the stucco color. We were more than pleased with the job! Brad is easy to work with and they left the job sight spotless.
Description of Work: Brad and his team removed the stucco and black paper from 50% of one side of our house. They replaced the paper, the stucco and some wood moulding.

Brad Migneault, the owner/operator of B&J Plastering, responded quickly to an email and phone message I left, and came out to the house within a few days to personally survey the water damage in the bedroom and the stairway wall cracks. A couple of days later, I had an email back from him with a written estimate for the job, which he said might have to be revised if more extensive damage or mold was found once he opened up the ceiling further to do the work. I actually double-checked his quote, $825, with another contractor who was too busy to take the job but offered to view pictures of the damage and render his own ballpark estimate, and he said he thought Brad's estimate was reasonable. So I booked the job with Brad, and he arrived promptly at the appointed time with a two-man crew, both of whom appeared to be equally seasoned tradesmen. All three were very congenial and professional, and they finished the entire project in under six hours. The outcome was great. The damaged areas of the ceiling were completely and seamlessly patched; all that was left for me to do was re-paint. The same was true of the wall cracks up the stairway. The only hitch that Brad and his crew ran into was the discovery of a section of ceiling joist that was badly stained and covered with mold that appeared to have accumulated from past exposure to moisture. They ended up cutting out the damaged wood and replacing it with a fresh piece of lumber and spot-treating a few other isolated areas of mold with bleach spray. All this they did for no extra charge. They also covered everything in drop cloths and plastic sheeting before getting started, then cleaned up and vacuumed thoroughly afterward, so the work area was left tidy and free of any dust or debris once they were done. One thing that particularly impressed me about Brad was his professional integrity. I never had the sense that he would look for ways to embellish or complicate the project, and thus raise its cost. I felt that he was an honest contractor who was simply out to do the best job he could. His work proved that true. I would use B&J Plastering again in a heartbeat and enthusiastically recommend them to others.
Description of Work: The job involved the repair of water damage to the ceiling of a first-floor bedroom in our house in Glendale, CA, from rain that leaked inside from a clogged exterior gutter drain of a second-floor balcony. Large patches of the ceiling in the room were left stained from water that had seeped through the wallboard and other sections were left with large, ragged holes ripped in the ceiling where I had opened the drywall to let the rainwater drain out the night that the leak had occurred. Separately, I had asked the contractor to patch some minor wall cracking along the interior stairway of our house.

Discovered mold in my closet due to an old rusty bolt that protruded into the house from the exterior stucco wall. After mold remediation by another company, I had Brad remove the bolt and some old wood beams on the outside wall that posed a potential problem. There were a few days of light showers before the work could be completed but he made sure everything was sealed so water could not get in. When he was able to come back he re-stuccoed the exterior walls in all of the areas of concern, along with re- stuccoing the wall by a planter. He then water tested the areas to make sure there were no more leaks. When everything checked out and he was sure of no moisture he patched several areas in the closet. He was able to handle everything quickly and neatly. The only delays were due to weather. I would definitely recommend him.
Description of Work: Applied metal lath and stucco to a wall by planter where plaster had fallen off. Sealed cracks along side walkway. Caulked around dryer vent. Removed bolt penetrating wall closet from the outside, patched stucco, water tested area. Repaired closet wall. Removed decorative wood beams extending out of exterior wall and patched stucco.

My experience with Brad of B&J Plastering was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Brad returned my phone calls and we communicated sometimes via e-mail. Brad was on time for our appointment and was very friendly and knowledgeable. I got quotes from two other vendors, however Brad was the only one who brought a color pallet so we could try to match the stucco color as much as possible. Although another vendor was close in price, I chose Brad because he gave me confidence because of his years of experience, and my gut told me he was the guy for the job. I'm so glad I followed my gut! He got the quote to me in a very timely manner and we scheduled the work approximately two weeks from that time. On the day of the job he was there on time. He and Greg (his crew) did a great job in matching the textured "pattern" of the existing stucco, so it would blend-in better, and the color came pretty close to the existing. In addition, Brad found a few areas where holes had been covered up with stucco, and I had a crack in the cement. For no extra charge, he took care of these areas with cement he had on hand. Once the job was completed, Brad asked me to walk around with him and point out any issues I might have. I had none, so they started their clean-up. They left my property as it had been found, so they did a great job on the clean-up as well. In addition, I have 5 dogs and found it necessary to let them out every so often. My dogs just loved Brad and Greg, and they both took time to visit with the dogs. They were also mindful that gate was closed anytime the dogs were present. I so appreciated their genuine concern for the safety of my dogs. If you ever need stucco repair, Brad of B&J Plastering is your guy. He won't let you down, and he is MORE than fair. He's also a dog lover, which was a big plus for me. I would hire him again in a heartbeat! Great job Brad and Greg. Thanks so much.

I used Angie's list to find the above. Brad came out that same day and the estimate was accepted. The repair was done due to a car vs. wall accident on the side of my house. After the quote was accepted Brad and Greg showed up as promised the next day and all was repaired within 5 hours. The estimate was quoted, and should further repair be needed after removing the stucco and visualizing the underlying structure an additional quote would be offered if needed. Thankfully the structure was intact, and his initial quote was all that was needed. Very happy with Brad and his company and would highly recommend him to anyone.

The owner, Brad, returned my call within a reasonable time, arrived on time for the schedule appointment, promptly provided a detailed bid, and worked with me via email regarding scope and price clarifications. On the scheduled day of work B & J arrived promptly and completed the stucco work in one day as promised. The inside was scheduled on a day convenient to me and again they arrived promptly and completed the work in a day. Brad and Mike are professionals and craftsmen. They did a great job on the scope they were hired to do, did extra work without being asked that needed doing, and did a great job cleaning up. I will be hiring them again for any future plastering needs.
Description of Work: B & J patched several very large holes in the stucco of my house, which were created when I had an old electrical panel removed from one location and installed a new main panel in another location. They also patched several smaller holes the electrician created in accessing junction boxes for pulling new wire. Further, they repaired two fairly large areas where the stucco was 'bubbling' and/or had separated somewhat from the wall. Those are the areas I showed them. As an bonus, this company evaluated all of the stucco and patched numerous little holes or cracks without being asked. The interior of my home also had several holes in the plaster due to the rewiring and B & J hand-plastered all of those areas using metal backing and plaster rather than drywall.

The entire job was a pleasure. Brad and his two associates arrived early, covered everything with plastic, set up their scafolding and went to work. They scraped, removed old plaster, reinforced and applied new plaster. It was a much bigger job than it looked, along a 25" stretch of ceiling. They did a beautiful job , cleaned up totally and were entertaining to boot. Who know plastering could be funny? I would rehire B and J Plastering without hesitation..
Description of Work: A chronic leak in the flat roof of our small commercial building had caused fissures and cracks in the ceiling. The roofing company we had hired to do the roof repairs said that there was an area in the roof that should have some concrete poured in before they came to repair the roof. A check of Angie's list turned up B and J Plastering, who was also listed in the concrete category. I explained the situation to Brad, owner of B and J, and, since he was in the middle of another job, he came over Saturday morning to check the roof, and returned on Sunday to pour the concrete. Brad also assessed the ceiling work and later e-mailed his estimate, which I accepted. The following Tuesday the roofers came and did the roof repairs. Brad then came the following Thursday to do the plasterwork.

Brad, from B& J Plastering explained to us every step he had to do, emphasizing how important it was to make sure that the paper beneath the stucco is waterproof. We're very happy with the job performed and would call Brad again for similar projects.
Description of Work: Our plumber had to replace a drain from two sinks upstairs. In the process, he had to rip open the stucco along the side of our house. Brad, from B&J Plastering repaired the side of our house very well.
