Arbor Hardwood Floors

We had water damage to our entranceway which required replacement of the oak flooring. This flooring is repeated throughout most of the ground floor and the rest of it is of uncertain age but suspected to be approximately 60 years old since the original house was built. We have lived in the house for over 20 years and it was here when we moved in. As there were several areas that needed partial repair in the older rooms, we decided to have those areas repaired at the same time. Then we added a full sand and refinish everywhere, except one room which was just too difficult to empty and had been refinished a different shade. This meant staining the repair in that room to match the existing finish. The match was impossible to identify. We then decided to have the living room carpet removed and replaced with matching oak hardwood. This living room was not part of the original house, so not built with hardwood flooring and we decided to make the whole ground floor hardwood. All these activities meant moving furniture several times to make access possible. Especially as we delayed stages to accommodate painters in the finished rooms before moving furniture into those rooms to access the next areas. Jaymes team, led by Sam and his brother Nelson, did a great job with new installation and patching repairs in the older areas as needed. These guys were amazing. Very enthusiastic and willing to explain certain actions and offer suggestions to our queries. We mentioned squeaks in the floor in the older part of the house and they immediately asked to go under the floor to inspect, then wedged several areas of the subfloor to deal with the squeaks. An entirely voluntary action on their part. They also did a great cleanup job every day before leaving. We were happy to have them in our home.

Jaymes and his team did a wonderful job refinishing our hardwood floors. We had two rooms in which the prior owners put carpeting over the hardwood. The floors turned out beautifully, and the stain matches the rest of the house. Jaymes is very good at communicating and giving updates. His team, Samuel and Nelson were on time, polite, professional, and left everything cleaned up. Great experience overall.

James and his crew did a terrific job removing carpeting and installing a new maple hardwood floor on two floors and two stairwells in my house. They even moved out some old some older furniture I wanted to get rid of. They were polite, professional and punctual. I am really happy with my new floor and just wish I had done it sooner.

Great! From start to finish James and his team are kind honest and take a lot of pride in their work. They were extremely helpful with your moving the furniture from the house putting it into the garage and covering the rest on the patio while they we finished our floors. They did a amazing job and then put everything back. I would hire them again anytime I need wood floors or wood floor serviced.

Job went well. When I asked for a estimate they came out and I knew I wanted two bedrooms and a hallway done. I was also interested in doing my dining room. I had them look at all of the areas. When I got my quote I only got the quote for the two bedrooms and hallway from them as that was what I knew I wanted. The job went well and turned out beautifully. Once completed I was really interested in doing the dining room immediately. The quote came back at twice the square foot range. Like the same price as the original job, but for 1/4 of the square footage. They explained that because it was a small area the price per square foot would not be the same. Understandable yes, HOWEVER, if they had told me that before I started the job I WOULD have included it in the original job. DUH >>>> needless to say I was not able to afford to do my dining room. As a result the job itself was great. The professionalism of the company is where they lack.

Everything Arbor promised they delivered: quality work, on time, thorough cleanup, and very pleasant to work with. They went above and beyond on some details which was much appreciated. We will use them again and would recommend to all.

After a very easy estimate, Jaymes and Efrain got to work, restoring our 70 year old red oak floors. Excitement, attention to detail and pure craftsmanship. We finally moved in and the floors are bright and full of life.

The job went very well. The floors look brand new. The owner, Jaymes Pillar, was responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The workers went above and beyond by adding two extra layers of poly seal ("varnish") to the floors. There were some scraps along the baseboard in the hallway that I will have to paint over. There is a small gouge in the door jamb where the wood was crushed and the paint flaked off. They did not remove the plastic that was covering the linen closet in the hallway. Those are the only negatives. I definitely would hire this company again. I had interviewed three companies; one company was about 40% cheaper but I did not get that trustful vibe one gets when dealing with a family-owned business like Arbor. The other company was about $50.00 more expensive (an inconsequential amount). I felt I made the right choice.

Very pleased with Jaymes and crew from Arbor. Jaymes has a lot of experience and it shows in the quality of work. Jaymes is easy going and easy to communicate with. When we met I could tell he was the type who wouldn't be satisified unless his client was. Since our floors were quite old we had a couple trouble spots. His crew paid careful attention to that and I am very satisfied with the results. I would recommend him to anyone.

Arbor did an excellent job. They took out all my furniture and put it back perfectly. The floors look really good. Clean and refreshed. They needed and extra day, but handled it nicely.

Job was started at the end of September, Jaymes and his crew did an incredible job restoring the existing parquet flooring we have. They came in as soon as possible and started working on the floors. They made sure to cover up areas from sanding and Jaymes came in pretty much everyday to see how things were coming along. They were careful to get every area and they addressed any concerns we had. We are in LOVE with our new hardwood floors! I found Arbor through Angie’s list, where they have many glowing reviews singing their praises. And rightly so - these guys do incredible work. I spoke to Jaymes initially. He provided a quote and an estimate of time to complete the job. At that time, we hadn’t yet moved in to our house and didn’t have keys, so this estimate was based on information I gave over the phone. I had spoken to several other flooring companies at the same time, but I liked Jaymes the best. He seemed the most knowledgeable and made me feel like Arbor would do an excellent job. However, other companies had given me a cheaper quote for the work. Jaymes was happy to match our lowest quote, which was so great because I wanted to use Arbor the most. Samuel was the lead on our project. We wanted to sand and refinish the existing hardwood floors in a lighter color. But when he and his team arrived, they discovered a problem with our floors that I didn’t know about. Sanding was not an option - the floors were not solid hardwood and sanding would have destroyed the manufactured planks. Samuel alerted Jaymes, and Jaymes quickly pivoted and offered us 3 different solutions to achieve the look we wanted. We ended up choosing to rip out the existing manufactured planks and replace them all with solid white oak 5” wide planks. And let me tell you - the end result is stunning. The work was just finished 2 days ago, and my husband and I can’t stop saying “I love our floors!” “Wow these floors really look good” and “I’m so glad we did this” We sound ridiculous but we’re just so happy with the end product!! It’s transformed our whole home. It makes our 1947 bungalow look like new construction, but with charm. Oh, and the crew worked late for 5 nights in a row to get this all done in time before our move! Because of the way the job changed, the expected timeline doubled. But Jaymes was aware of our moving date and promised the job could be finished without delaying our move. This required a lot of extra time on Samuel’s part, and extra hands on the job. Jaymes didn’t charge us for any of these extras. Overall, this was a fantastic experience start to finish. Professional, genuine, trustworthy, and great communI would recommend Jaymes and Samuel and the rest of the team at Arbor to anyone! You won’t regret it.

Very pleased with Arbor’s work. Jaymes did a good job explaining what the job entailed and how the project would be completed. He listened to my concerns and took them into account. The two-man crew arrived on time every day and worked diligently. The project was completed on time and my floors now sparkle.

Amazing. Jaymes and team delivered on time and with precision. Our apartment was immaculate when complete. Although Jaymes and team covered our floors to keep them safe during our kitchen Reno. When the follow on tradesmen damaged the floors and didn’t Respect the floor covering. Jaymes sent his team back to re cover the floors for protection and his team offered to come back and replace the damaged boards. A great experience and would definitely use again. Highly recommend
