Antique Stove Heaven

Our house was built in 1964. We still have the originally installed O'Keefe and Merritt (double) electric oven(s). The heating element in the lower oven had shorted out, the broiler element in the upper oven had come loose and had also worked its way out of the slot to keep it level, and the hinges on the upper oven door no longer allowed the door to remain partially ajar while broiling. We called "Antique Stove Heaven" in the early afternoon and spoke with an office employee. We gave her the specifics about our oven (size, model number, etc.) and explained the problems. She told us that the repair man was out on a job, but that he would call us back later that day, after attempting to locate the required replacement heating element. He did call back later that afternoon and set up an appointment for the following morning. He arrived on time and fixed all of the problems in a timely manner. We are very satisfied with the work he preformed.

He was fast efficient and delightfulvery professional and the best part is that he has all the parts in his truck which he constantly replaces and rebuilds so you don't have to wait for the right part. I highly recommend him and will definitely use him again.

I called to schedule the appointment on Friday 10/14/11 and spoke with a receptionist that who was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to to tell me exactly what I needed and although I don't live in the immediate area, she was very familiar with which neighborhood in which I live. She scheduled my appointment for Monday, 10/17/11 between 8 and 10am. I was pleasantly surprised that they would be able to make it so soon! She quoted me $95 plus parts which I feel is very reasonable considering the distance and the fact that it is a specialized skill. Walt called me at 8:15am on Monday morning to let me know he was on his way. He arrived very shortly after that. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and professional . He was able to inspect my stove and hook it up in about 20 minutes, he also gave me some tips about my stove along the way. He even got one of the stubborn knobs on my stove to turn with ease. Walt informed me that I would also need to replace the safety regulator in my oven, but I opted to do that at later date due to cash flow. My home was built in 1934 and still has much of it's original style. He noticed that some of my vintage tiles needed to be replaced, and referred me to a company that specializes in crafting vintage-style tiles to match the originals. What a life saver! Antique Stove Heaven was a true pleasure to work with. They have definitely made a return customer out of me and I will be proud to refer them to my friends.

We did not use them, so I am rating on their business practices. This guy is so nice, after speaking on the phone he arrives on time, (there is a $75.0 service call fee) looks at the stove, really knows his stuff, is obviously very knowledgeable, and gives us a quote. Unfortunately, it was just too much money to repair the stove for us, and we opted not to, but would have used them if we had done the work.

THE PROCESS WAS GOOD FROM START TO FINISH AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS HELPFUL IN UNDERSTANDING THE WORKINGS OF AN ANTIQUE STOVE. CALL NOW IF YOU NEED HELP, YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!!

I was astonished by the speed. The gentleman arrived two hours after I called the first time! I had been told by 3 different shops that parts were not available because the cook top was too old. Stove Heaven identified the problem and part in 5 minutes, called and ordered the part, returned the next day at precisely the time predicted, had the part installed and the cook top working perfectly within 15 minutes. This is the best service I have received from anyone!

He called to confirm time & arrived promptly. I was not there, but he called and told me the problem and resolution and cost. He fixed the oven.

The company dispatcher was very polite and thorough. I live in Echo Park and they are only in this area certain days of the week but it was worth the wait. The serviceman was punctual, clean, neat, professional, and very warm and helpful. He did a quick, thorough job. It was wonderfully painless!

The owner if the company arrived the same day I made the appointment. He was knowledgable, efficient and business like at first then warmed up a bit. I gave him tomatos from my garden.

We have a 1970's very 'camp' slide-in and the oven suddenly didn't work. We've been through this before and had learned our lesson with calling a regular appliance repair business. They can't comprehend why we wouldn't just trot down to Sears and buy a ugly cheap stove instead of fixing a questionable 'antique'. So I called Antique Stove Heaven in the morning, told them our obscure brand, model number and problem. Windsor came by that same afternoon on time, scoped it out and had the exact part that we needed. Guess he knew what was wrong before he even got here. He even showed me how to clean our burners when they get clogged, and how to fix a broken knob instead of going on the everlasting quest for a replacement part. I wish I had found Antique Stove Heaven the first three times I had this stove repaired.

He likes to talk about Antique things which I like. He explains everything that he is doing. He is very thorough. He cleaned after himself.

Although it was not an antique stove, our recent Kenmore gas stove quit igniting a flame on a Saturday. After searching on Angie's List, I called Antique Stove Repair because they were in our neighborhood. I talked with a repair person that asked a few questions and we arranged for a service call the next day, Sunday. Another repairman showed up promptly and was very pleasant. After a minute or two he knew that it was a faulty "igniter". He got one from the truck and had it replaced all within an hour. I will definitely use them next time. Don't pass over this good company because you may not have an antique stove with a problem - I almost did.

Everything was just terrific: speed; quality; price. Would happily use again if I had a need.

First I spoke to Carol who was very friendly and helpful. Winsor came out two days later. He identified the problems immediately and made the repairs quickly. He took the time to answer all my questions and to offer good advice. I had been afraid I would soon have to replace both appliances (would require ripping out cabinets and replacing counters), but Winsor assured me that they will be good for many more years.

Called company on Monday requesting service for Wednesday. Wednesday was not available so we agreed to Thursday. Soon after completing the call, the scheduler called back and offered service on Tuesday (the very next day). However, I could not accept that day due to other obligations. The service person arrived at the appointed time on Thursday. I explained the problem and he correctly diagnosed the cause within 10 minutes. A gas line device was clogged, so, he cleaned the device and tested the stove temperature. The job was completed in about 1/2 hour.

Provided a very thorough initial inspection then refurbished the stove in the timespan promised. We're thrilled with the results.

The oven on my bosses antique O'Keefe and Merritt stove was non working and I could smell gas every time I entered the house. I called and made an appointment. They showed up on time and repaired the oven by installing a safety valve and fixed the gas smell by tweaking the pilot light. He worked very quickly and finished lickity split. And he kindly showed me how to lower the glass visor on the stove, which had me befuddled :)

I'd smelled gas coming from my range for a while. The gas co. fixed a leak in the main hookup behind the stove. The gas man said that two burners were "bypassing", and would need to be re-built. Also, the oven safety valve (which worked fine the day before), was broken. The woman who answered the phone at A.S.H. didn't ask me what was wrong with my stove. She just said they'd come "Wednesday," but wouldn't give a more specific time frame. Said they'd call in the AM on Weds. I ended up calling for a time. Their tech was very prompt and helpful, if a bit brusque in manner. He fixed the burner valves by stuffing aluminum foil into the knobs, which he said is a fail-safe solution to a common problem with these old stoves. The oven safety valve cost $185 for the part, the light switch cost $22.50. Labor was $85. The technician also recommended that we have our grates and burners re-enameled, to improve the look of the stove. It's obvious that he cares about these fine old relics!

I couldn't have been happier. I had given up on this oven ages ago. He arrived on time and knew immediately how to repair it. In addition, he adjusted the thermostat so that we could tell the exact temperature at all times. The minimum service call charge which had been quoted was the total charge.

I had an estimate of 450 dollars from another company. Stove Heaven came, diagnosed the problem and fixed it for under $100, I am extremely happy! I called them in the AM and the came to my house that very afternoon!

Win showed up on time and fixed the problem on the spot, plus gave us some helpful advice on keeping the stove in good running order. Their repair service has always been terrific; we've never been disappointed with them.

The first company we called gave us a complete run around, quoted an estimate, for the repair, of at least $500, left to conduct a search for the "rare" thermostat needed and never contacted us again. Antique Stove Heaven came the day after we called, fixed the stove in an hour, with a standard thermostat the serviceman had in his truck, and charged us half what the other company estimated. They were terrific.

IN LESS TIME THAN I EXPECTED, HE COMPLETELY RECONDITIONED THE STOVE WHERE IT HAS BEEN IN ACTIVE USE SINCE. HE WAS VERY THROUGH AND FAST, WITH A GREAT PERSONALITY AND KNOWLEDGE OF VINTAGE KITCHEN APPLIANCES. IN ADDITION TO REPAIRS, ASH ALSO DOES RESTORATION, CHROMING, AND HARD-TO-FIND PARTS. THEY HAVE TWO FANTASTIC SHOWROOMS OF REFRIGERATORS AND STOVES, ONE IN LOS ANGELES AND ONE NEAR HARBOR CITY.
