ANR Roofing

During heavy rains, a portion of my interior ceiling developed a leak. I called ANR who sent out an installer that looked at the roof and determined that previous roofers had not sufficiently installed flashing to prevent water seepage. The installer called in the information to the office, which was supposed to provide me with a quote shortly, which was important because it was going to rain again soon. When I did not receive the quote after a couple of hours I called and Andy, the owner, personally came out to the house and reviewed the work to be done. He gave me a very fair estimate. Andy told me that the job would take a day and ANR could start work the next day or two if the weather permitted. Andy's crew showed up two days later and professionally and neatly performed the work. It rained heavily the night the job was finished and the roof held up great.

Andy came out when promised to give me an estimate, which turned out to be the second lowest of the five companies I contacted. His also was the only estimate which included an allowance for replacing damaged or rotting boards under the existing roofs-- 50 feet worth of replacement board. (Other companies charged an extra $3 to $6/linear foot for this. Another firm rated highly by Angie's list bid the job at $11,000.) His crew of eight showed up the first day and tore off the old roofs and covered the roof with new plywood. The second day they put on the new roof. Andy came by the morning of the second day to respond to some concerns I had regarding the A-frame portion. By the end of the 2nd day the roof was essentially complete, except for one piece of flashing around the A-frame. A worker showed up the next morning to finish that and he repaired some holes in the stucco just below the roof line. The crew cleaned the mess around the house and in the landscaping at the end of each day.

They came out the day I called but were unable to purchase the right color of shingles due to it being a weekend. They came back the next day with the right color and replaced the shingles. They just really came through for me and gave me a good price. Andy is the gentleman I spoke with and was very nice and helpful. I have already recommended them to others.

Andy came out to inspect the roof of my garage and house, and to give me an estimate. Fast response to my call and extremely professional and polite. Explained to me what he felt needed to be done to repair leaks and maintain and preserve roof. Work was performed a few days later and completed. Crew was professional, pleasant and cleaned up after. Andy returned to pick up payment and went up on the roofs to inspect work and even offered to take digital photos for me so I could see what was done. Informed me about the guarantees on the materials and the job.

Andy was able to come by the day after I called. In addition to the leaky part, he looked at the whole roof including part that our chimney people suggested we have inspected. He couldn't find anything wrong there. We discussed options for re-pitching or resurfacing the "eyebrow" and decided that a resurfacing would be fine. He verbally quoted "the minimum" $450 and I asked him if he could bring it down with the Angie's List discount or anything since it seemed extremely expensive for such a minor repair to a small area. He said the discount would be in the proposal. He emailed me the proposal but it did not have a discount. We discussed his other negative reports on Angie's List and he said "1 out of 35 isn't bad". I didn't want to be #2 and we decided to find another provider. Estimated cost was $450.

Andy, the owner, was easy to get ahold of and always very courteous. He returned my calls promptly. I think the quality of the roofing work done is good (but hard to tell since I can't see the roof). They completed the job within the time promised (approximately one week). But I'm afraid the praise stops with Andy. The workers he used were very careless and sloppy. They damaged some of my plants by throwing down roofing onto them, they broke a statue, damaged some of the framing around my windows, broke a sprinkler head, and didn't go a good job cleaning up (even left nails in the yard). Also, much of their workmanship was poor. They slopped tar onto my walls and the sealer was painting carelessly over my normal paint. Andy apologized profusely and did repair the damage. Even then, the painting they did was patchy and doesn't match well. Still some areas on the second floor I will have to paint myself. Andy = good. His workers = bad.

The roofer was very patient with the scheduling, which was delayed because the next-door neighbor was pregnant and anxious about the fumes. Once begun, the job was completed on time. Both the salesman and the owner were easy to reach and always courteous and responsive. The workers were polite, friendly and appeared to know their business. Once the old roof was off extra work was discovered to be necessary; this work was explained and fairly priced. You can use this company with confidence.

Andy is very professional. Seemed to be an honest man and really wanted to be competitive with our other bids. He actually had the lowest bid of the three estimates. However, we went with the mid bid because we had some garage framing issues and the other company could also handle that as well as the roofing so we decided to have one company handle both projects. Otherwise, I would have gone with Andy. He called me after I emailed him and quickly came out to give an estimate. A couple of days later, he called to follow up to see if I had any more questions. Instead of calling him back, I emailed him and it took him a couple of days to email me back, but in his email he was very detailed and explained his professional opinions and reasonings. Very nice and professional.

They were really good. They were responsive and very accommodating. We were doing some other work at the same time and they worked with us to schedule the work around it. They also honored the discount coupon even though there was a discrepancy with it. The crew was professional and they cleaned up well when the job was done. This was a good transaction. We had gotten other estimates and they met or beat them. My roof is holding up fine.

We have had an ongoing leak that was difficult to find. Called Andy to come take a look and he noticed some problems created by a handyman fix. All this happened right after that 2 day rain in September, so Andy fit us in between a couple jobs. 1 week later, crew arrived and started work straight away. I don't even think they took lunch. Worked from about 9:30a - 3pm cleaned up and left! Job looks very, very nice. They did a good job aesthetically and matched the shingles perfectly even though they are about 30 years old.

We did not use ANR because their price was so much higher than two other estimates we received. Their original bid for a very simple gutter replacement on a 1400 square foot house was $2160. They called back a couple of days later and I said we were still getting bids because it was so high. They immediately dropped the price by $500. We ended up going with one of two companies whose bid was less than $1000. This was a simple project. The initial estimate was incredibly high, and I didn't like that it was suddenly $500 cheaper two days later. So we did not use them.

A flat section of our roof began to leak during a recent rainstorm. Called ANR on Monday, got an estimate on Tuesday and the roof was fixed on Thursday. Edwin gave us a reasonable bid for the repair and unlike others didn't try to get us to re-roof the entire house. Instead he inspected the rest of the roof and said that it would probably hold up until next summer. We will be calling them next summer!

The workmen were quick and efficient. They cleaned up all the debris each day. I am pleased with their workmanship, my roof looks great! Owner Andy Chavez contacted me several times to inquire if there were any problems (but there weren't any). His estimate was competitive with the other two roofing estimates.

They were very prompt to come and give an estimate. However they never faxed/emailed the written estimate as promised, twice. They quoted me a price over the phone. I scheduled the work to be done the following Monday and they NEVER SHOWED UP! They were to start between 9:00 and 10:00 am. I called both Andy and Edwin's cell phones at 10:15 am and left messages to ask if they were still coming. Neither ever called me back. I would not hire them again.

During the job, they broke a window next door but they fixed it. The roof is complete, but there is still a little more work to do since we're going to have it stuccoed but so far so good. I would give their prices an A+.

They were very professional and tidy. They cleaned up every day that they were there. An inspector even came out to make sure that the roof was installed properly. I would recommend them.

I wanted to install two roof vents to alleviate some of the heat which was making the house warm. Andy came to my home and explained the pros and cons of several options. He was able to have the low vents installed in a matter of days. I also was able to meet his installer who confirmed the style of vents to be installed. He was very cordial and completed the work while I was at work and there was no mess.

I obtained several estimates from companies listed on Angie's List. Overall it was an excellent experience. From the initial estimate to final clean-up, Andy Chavez & his crew were punctual, hard-working, & careful of our landscaping. I would definitely recommend them.

I was very impressed with ANR Crown Roofing. Andy, the owner, presented himself in a professional and personable manner. He was extremely responsive in providing the estimate and following up. Andy answered all of our questions and even came by a 2nd time to meet with my husband and me. We definitely considered using his company. We ultimately awarded the job to another company from Angie's list. Nevertheless, I would recommend ANR Crown Roofing.

I had contacted ANR Crown because of the many glowing reports and a mix-up occurred resulting in a lack of follow-up. Because it was an Angie's List referral I thought that I would contact them again to make sure that we had communicated. So, I called again and was absolutely blown away from that point on. Andy apologized, made no excuses and indicated that there would be no further lapses. The next day, his guys were at the property, did the work expeditiously, cleaned-up without a trace and did all the work without disturbing or inconveniencing the tenants. After my more than 30 years in service businesses, an article of faith among service businesses was clearly demonstrated by ANR Crown Roofing: Stuff happens, but, it's not the stuff that happens that defines good service, it's the recovery of the service provider. These guys truly provide great service.

It was a very good experience. The work was started the day after I agreed to the estimate (which was quite a bit lower than the two others I got), and it took less than a day and a half, which is exactly what they estimated. Workers were polite and they left the area in spotless condition when they finished. The work looks very good to the eye and is guaranteed for seven years. I would highly recommend this company.

They did a great job. Came out quickly to do an estimate, and did the job within the estimated time. Very professional. Final bill was slightly under the estimate! One of the most appreciated aspects of their work is that they first fixed the fascia board, and then gave us a week to paint it to prevent future damage before they came back to put in the new gutter.

The work itself was done very well and when promised. They also went above and beyond to inspect the entire roof (I was only aware of two areas of damage) and fixed other areas that were damaged. This part of the experience was very satisfactory. It took a little while, though, to get them to respond to my phone calls after the initial consultation. But then they were very professional and helpful.

Andy was punctual and professional. I received four quotes in total. Three were almost exactly the same (in the $9,500 to $9,900 range) and Andy's was about $3,000 higher. Therefore I did not hire him.

Edwin came out on a Tuesday and gave me an estimate. The next day Andy emailed me a quote [which matched Edwin's estimate]. I signed it and faxed it back. They called the next day saying they had an opening that Saturday. They arrived a little late due to truck problems, but removed the old roof and made good progress on installed the new roof. They came back Sunday [!] and finished the job. I got on the roof and everything looked great. It rained four days later and no leaks! I highly recommend them to others.
