Affordable Tree Service

I'd received an unrequested proposal from an unlicenced and uninsured tree trimmer to do this work. I felt uneasy about liability and skill levels, but it inspired me to call Mr. Limon to come out for the third time in about six years. His price was a bit higher but I had confidence from prior jobs. I had to wait about a week for the service, but that was not a problem for me. The tree trimming. as in prior jobs, looks a bit extreme at first but, from experience, I know this is a good way to ensure health and I usually will get 2-3 years between jobs. The crew, as always, was extremely neat.and responsive to special requests. They removed a dead tree and trimmed some bushes that had not been included in the original bid.

They haven't done any work yet, but so far the experience has been great. I called them and they actually came out that same day. We are looking forward to working with them.

Louis' team showed up right on time, I walked them through the work. They did the work extremely efficiently. They had a crew of something like a half a dozen people that did what I expected would take 3 hours, in only 1 hour. They were efficient, and very very clean. The place was spotless when they were finished. I was very pleased.

Louis and his crew did an excellent job cutting down our bothersome trees. They arrived promptly, brought the trees down safely, and when they were done, you couldn't tell they had been there OR that the trees had been there. Even our neighbor, who we can now see, was impressed by the work. They said they'd be there by 8:30am. At 8:15, the trucks were set up and ready to go. When I left the house at 8:35, the first 3 trees had already been taken down and were already in the wood chipper. When I got home, the only evidence left was loose dirt where the trees once stood. No muss, not fuss. We have a tree in the backyard that may have to come down. If so, I will definitely call Louis!

Louis and his team were so great to us! Louis was very knowledgeable and Way more affordable than the other estimates we got. We needed approximately 4 big trees removed, and also about 30 brazillion pepper trees removed that took up our whole back yard and our neighbors. They also pruned a few trees too! Needless to say, it was a Big job! and Louis' team was amazing! My husband and I are soooo glad we went with them! Thanks Louis!!!

After my initial service call, Louis came in same day to give me a written estimate. 2 of the tree were large 30-40 ft tall tree. He called me and updated his crews schedule prior to their arrival. His 6 men crew showed up on time and did a very good job. They were courteous and professional, cleaned up the job site very well, too. I don't know if the price is fair or not, since this is the 1st time I use professional on larger tree and I didn't get a 2nd estimate.

He is excellent. His work is great, clean up is great, and he is very polite. There is nothing scary about him or his crew.

None of the trees that had to be trimmed had been worked on for over 20 years and were badly in need of care. Affordable Tree Service did a excellent job in all respects in completing this project. This is the second time I have used their service and plan to use them again in the future.

I highly recommend them. They do extra work in my yard, and their price is very reasonable. They are also on top of everything, on time, and very professional.

I flagged down Louis when he was in my neighborhood trimming trees. I have used him several times over the last 18 months. I see him here on Angie's List, so I will write a review as he is the real deal. The most important thing for me is that Louis is licensed, bonded and insured. Tree trimming and removal is potentially dangerous work that should only be performed by a professional, in my opinion. Louis has a crew and all the necessary equipment, (stump grinder, shredder, etc.). It's a full scale operation, much like the city crews who do tree trimmings. When I bought my place, the yard was a hodge podge of trees and shrubs, many of which were in poor condition, had infestations, or were not appropriate for the space. At first, Louis trimmed the avacado tree and removed an invasive shrub and an infested tree. That went well, so I had him back to remove another small tree and an Oleandar that someone had tried to chop out, but it grew back. His crew ground out the stump and it is now officially gone! On the last pass, I had 2 trees removed that were too close to the water main. My inspector said they could cause plumbing problems in another 1 or 2 years, so they had to go. On each trip, Louis' crew were efficient, thorough, and cleaned up all trimmings. All stumps were completedly ground out and pulverized well below the dirt level. No stumps sticking up for shoots to start growing off them. I would use Louis again for all of the above mentioned reasons.

I called and left a message requesting a visit for an estimate of services. Within 15 minutes I got a call from Louis saying he happened to be in the neighborhood and would stop by. Sure enough, in a few minutes Louis showed up at my door, and we went over all the needed work. Louis gave me a very competitive price and beat out another estimate I got handily. I booked him on the spot and the following week his crew came by and performed an excellent job in trimming and clearing out the plants/brush that I wanted removed from my property. They also did a good clean up job and worked quickly. The crew was pleasant to work with and carefully double checked with us on all of the plants that we wanted them to cut or not to cut. Louis is a dedicated guy that clearly enjoys serving his clients - would hire again in a heartbeat.

Louis is very easy to work with and very professional. When you call him, he either answers or gets back to you right away. His team arrived and got straight to work. They had all the proper equipment and worked very hard. They hauled everything out and put it in the wood chipper. In the end, they left the yard (and the neighbor's yards) clean and neat. and our trees looked great. I wish I would have noticed that they didn't trim the high hedge next to our driveway quite as low as I wanted, but everything else was just as we discussed. We were very happy with their work.

Great job. Great service. Great price. Affordable Tree Service showed up with a large crew and finished the job quickly. They took extra care to keep the cuttings out of the pool. The work was very professional and they took the time to clean up afterwards. I would gladly use them again.

This is the second time I've used Affordable Tree Service. He did a good job and I would use him again. Two of the trees were very close to the foundation and he removed them with no damage to the house. The third tree had grown up and through a tree I wanted to keep, and he removed that with no problems as well.

They were great. They came in exactly at their quote and they were very friendly. They were on time and they cleaned up really well. I would strongly recommend them and they did a good job. They were courteous and they cleaned up after themselves. They stayed on their quote. I will use their services again in the future.

The work went as planned. Louis' crew arrived on time and completed the work and the cleaned. I have used this company before and will again in the future.

Louis came out the same day I called for a quote and was willing to negotiate price. Arrived on time 2 days later with large crew and got right to work. Work was done professionally and my yards were left completely clean of pruning debris. Very pleasant experience. Will use again.

. The owner's name is Louis Limon. They did the work as per my expectation. As for price I don't have anything to compare them with. I will use them in the future.

Beware of Luis Limon, his motto is "I'm not responsible for damage." I have been using Affordable Tree Service for a couple of years to do my pruning so when I needed my lawn removed I called Luis. The lawn got removed but I had to haul 50 wheelbarrows of dirt and do the grading, not included according to Luis. Okay, but when I turned on the sprinklers I found out they had gouged a sprinkler pipe. Luis' response? "I'm not responsible for damage!" He not only didn't apologize, he was very smug about it. This pipe was right next to my main water line, so if his crew had busted it Luis wouldn't have fixed that either. My plumber is stunned, he said that for $30 and a little time Luis could have fixed it easily. Instead he has lost me and my father as customers and my neighbors, who are also stunned at Luis' attitude, won't use him. Stay away from this man!

Luis and his crew were very professional on a technical level, and have an extremely high level of expertise. They arrived on time and accomplished a lot of work in a day's time. One of the trees they removed was only 10 ft away from my pool. I was highly impressed at how they professionally trimmed 2 trees and ground the stumps without a single bit of broken cement and ZERO debris in the pool! On each of the 2 days they worked, they cleaned up and hauled away all debris to my satisfaction. On the business end, Luis was a nuisance. When giving me the estimate, he assertively told me exactly what he was going to do, without asking me exactly what I wanted. He told me that he would NOT trim the trees and quot;aggressively,and quot; which was the opposite of what I wanted. He was going to remove my fruit-producing pomegranate tree! I had to put my foot down several times during the estimate. I found that unpleasant - he seemed to be looking out for his business and showed little interest in knowing what I wanted. Luis had the annoying and quot;quirkand quot; of repeating my name in every single sentence that he ever spoke to me! It made our conversations seem very artificial. Although Luis was cordial and never rude, and did exactly what I wanted him to do, I had to keep arguing with him and insisting on it. Furthermore, after we had AGREED for Luis' crew to return in 2 weeks for the second part of the job, Luis called me 2 days later wanting to come back BEFORE the 2 weeks! He called me at 6 pm, when I was out for the evening, and left me a voicemail. The next morning when I was at work, he was already calling me AGAIN - not even 24 hours after his first call. (I can't use my cell phone while at work.) I don't know what his anxiety was all about because he was PAID for the work that was completed on the first day. It seemed like he was pushing to get his money for the second phase of the job. No matter how well one performs a job TECHNICALLY, being pushy and self-serving is not acceptable. Because of his high level of his expertise, there is a chance that I may end up using his services again - but only if it's a very complex job that requires the high level of skill he has. If I do, though, I'll be prepared for his pushiness and will make sure that he knows not to call me during the work day, and no more than once in 24 hours.

They arrived on time, did a good job, cleaned up well. no smoking on site which was good, no mess left behind.

My neighbors in the back complained that my oak tree was impairing their light and dropping leaves. I asked Luis to estimate trimming it back from the fence line, trimming our orange tree, privits and redwood tree and, at the same time, to trim the dead fronds off of our tall palm tree. I also have ivy which wants to crawl all over everything, including the palm. Luis came out quickly to do the estimate, arranged things for my convenience (we have goofy work schedules, kids, and dogs) and accepted time payments. He also went around and arranged with the effected neighbor to come into their yard to do the work and clean up. It's obvious he wants our business and is willing to do whatever we need to please us.

I wanted the trimming done immediately, but Luis said the company was busy and might or might not be able to do it within the week. About a week later, I called and asked that the trimming be done on the 22nd, since I had masons in to do some brick work and I wanted to give it plenty of time to cure. But a couple of days later, Luis called and asked if they could come on Friday to do the work. I said "no", but I agreed to Monday although I would not be there during the day. Luis' crew showed up on Monday and did the work, leaving the yard clean. However, two large chiapas sage plants, a fuchsia, and a few other smaller plants were damaged during the trimming of the ficus. Luis had told me he was concerned about the sage plants but they would try to protect them with some ladders with boards over them. Since I wasn't there, I don't know to what extent they tried to protect the plants, but my heart was broken when I came back on Monday and surveyed the wreckage of the chiapas sage plants. They weren't just some of my favorites--they were the favorites of the local hummingbirds as well. They were about half the height, and an inch-thick stem in the center of one of them was broken through. I had to trim them down to half the size to reshape them, and I don't know whether they will recover. Sage plants ARE a little brittle, but I don't think I'll hire the company again because I was not very happy with the rescheduling and I am very sad about my sage plants.

Called Louis and he promptly came out to property to give me an estimate. Very reliable and fast service. The crew also cleaned the area very well.
