 + -1 moreThey attempted to do it. I don't think it could have been done. The T.V. was not repairable. It was an old television and they found something that was wrong with it that made it subject to recall. I don't have a complaint about their work. They did their best.

 + -1 moreIke recommended a good antenna, and did not give me any misleading information about what kind of antenna I need. They were a bit disorganized, but the installation is good and the reception is excellent. (I live 30 miles from Mt. Wilson.) The price was fair, not great, but it's hard to find people to install antennas these days, and our roof is not easy to get to. I'd hire them again.

 + -1 moreArrived two hours later than arranged, but called twice to say that he'd be delayed. He tried to sell me an a/b switch rather than fix the set. He said that it would be "too expensive" to fix. I made the appointment and let him into my home with the clear understanding that he would fix the set; instead, he tried to sell me an a/b switch as a "workaround." Even when he had the a/b switch unpacked, he wouldn't commit to a price. It was still "between $50 and $100." I was angry and felt that I was being bamboozled, if not actually scammed. I told him that I didn't want to do business with him. He and his sidekick (a gristly "silent Bob") packed their kits and left. The next day, a friend showed me how to reconfigure my VCR and DVD player connections at no cost. The RCA jacks still don't work, but now they're superfluous.
Description of Work: The RCA jacks in the front of my 6-year-old TV were worn out from use. I wanted them replaced. I volunteered to bring the TV to his shop rather than incur a fee for a house call. Mr. Yarmak said that he no longer takes TVs into his shop; that he could come to my home to fix everything up. He hemmed and hawed when I asked him how much it would cost and would only say "between $50 and $100 dollars."

Description of Work: He came out on Labor Day and fixed an old wonderful box Sony TV that no one else would fix anymore. He brought a helper so he could move it around. He adjusted some other TVs in the house.

 + -1 moreFantastic! I basically detailed the experience above. I am extremely pleased and would certainly hire them again.
Description of Work: Ike and his team made an assessment of the problem on the first visit. He made it clear that he would have to communicate with his diagnostic specialist, but was sure he would be able to clear up the problem with our Hitachi 55FX48B, which had lost the picture. When he returned, 2 days later, with an additional service technician, they were at my home for less than 45 minutes to replace something on the control panel. The picture is superb. The final cost was less than the original estimate and a great job!

 + -1 moreThe first time he did a job for me was excellent and was done in a reasonable amount of time. The second time was a different story. He didn't return my phone calls promptly, and when I did speak with him, it was an endless stream of verbiage about himself, and when I would interrupt him to talk about the job he was rather condescending. At this point it seems like he is more interested in his ego than he is in his customers. He was supposed to call me yesterday and never called and then called me today and told me that I was the one who was supposed to contact him! I told him that I would be going with someone else to get the job done. The approximate cost was for the first job that he did.
Description of Work: He came out to install an old TV areil. I then wanted him to come out and attach speakers in my room so they would work with my satellite TV.

 + -1 moreHe was very helpful and saved me a lot of money. Instead of paying for a new circuit board and labor costs, I put the money into a new TV. I was very happy with his professionalism and would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.
Description of Work: My LG TV color was off. When I called him, I was willing to pay for him to come out and figure out what needed to be done. But instead, he asked for the model & serial #'s so that he could research the TV and problem before coming out so I wouldn't have to waste money on a service fee. I called him back with the information and he did all the research for me. When he called back, we determined that it wouldn't be worthwhile to get the TV fixed. NO CHARGE.

Description of Work: Our 1 year old dell TV suddenly stopped working. Dell was not at all helpful. Ike spent time on the phone trying to persuade them to replace the TV to no avail! He took the TV to his shop and had it repaired in three working days. He and his helper are very professional and I would definitely use them again. Ike explained the problem to me, but all I cared about was that it was working!

 + -1 moreThey were very thorough and persistent in their work. They take pride in their work and work well as a team. I would definitely hire them again if I need a TV repair service again.
Description of Work: They fixed my large screen projection TV, which went off randomly. They examined the circuit board and re-soldered defective circuits, which seemed to solve the problem. This saved us from replacing the entire circuit board, which could have been a lot more expensive.

 + -1 moreIke's a chatty guy, but he knows his stuff. Not many left who know about TV antennas for over-the-air reception.
Description of Work: Ike and his helper found the right spot on the roof for TV reception, not an easy job, and installed a high-gain antenna and the hookup. Work was thorough and professional. They spent considerable time fine-tuning the reception.

SHE'S VERY DISCERNING ABOUT PEOPLE AND COMFORTABLE WITH TECHNOLOGY. SHE GETS VERY IRRITATED WITH POOR SERVICE AND CAN BE VERY OUTSPOKEN, BUT SHE WAS HAD NOTHING BUT GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THE SERVICE PROVIDED AND THE QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM OF THE A PLUS TEAM. ALSO, THE PRICE CAME IN A LITTLE BELOW THE ESTIMATE.
Description of Work: A PLUS TV SALES & SERVICE DID AN IN-HOME REPAIR OF MY TOSHIBA 36'' CRT BASED TV. THE TV WAS TOO BIG AND HEAVY TO TAKE INTO A SHOP. IT S EIGHT YEARS OLD AND SUDDENLY LOST PICTURE. AUDIO WAS OK. IT HAD BEEN WORKING GREAT DESPITE FALLING OVER A YEAR AGO, TUBE DOWN, ONTO THE CARPET. IKE YARMAK OF A-PLUS RESPONDED TO MY MESSAGE. HE WAS VERY PLEASANT AND PROFESSIONAL. HE ASKED A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE FAILURE AND THE MODEL AND VINTAGE OF TV. HE DID SOME RESEARCH AND CALLED ME BACK A FEW DAYS LATER WITH A COST ESTIMATE. SOUNDED VERY REASONABLE TO ME, PARTICULARLY FOR AN IN-HOME, UP-STAIRS SERVICE CALL. TWO DAYS LATER HE ARRIVED WITH TWO ASSOCIATES AND A FULL PORTABLE TECH BENCH. THEY LOCATED AND CORRECTED THE PROBLEM - A CRACKED CIRCUIT BOARD (LIKELY A RESULT YEAR EARLIER ACCIDENT). THEIR THOROUGH CHECKOUT REVEALED ANOTHER CRACK THAT WOULD LIKELY HAVE CAUSED A FUTURE FAILURE. THEY REPAIRED IT, BUTTONED UP THE TV, AND CORRECTLY RECONNECTED ALL MY AUDIO AND VIDEO COMPONENTS.
