5 Star Wrought Iron

This company is great! 2 Thumbs Up! They came out, gave us an estimate to move the gate in our driveway and install a handrail on our front porch. They did an excellent job, the handrail looks great, not cheap at all, and they matched the design to an existing handrail we already had. Not even a hairline crack occurred when they installed it into our flagstone porch, I can't say enough about what an excellent job they did. In regards to moving our driveway gate, again an excellent job. Their attention to detail was very much appreciated and they took the time to do the job right. Not only did they have to move the gate, they also had to cut it and reformat it to fit the new area and you can't even tell that work was done on the gate. The integrity of the gate stayed in tack and now we can park both of our cars on our driveway. The administrative office is very nice and helpful and patient. Would use them again and will refer them without question.

Met with Luis yesterday at noon. Installation completed in less than 24 hours. Bid was significantly lower than other companies. Very satisfied with finished product.

I Made a late morning appointment for an estimate on some wrought iron work to be done, but when the time came for them to come over they called at the time of the appointment. to cancel the appointment, now i done mind if they can't make the appointment, but they could have called earlier to let me know, I took a day off work for them to come over, if they could of called in the morning i would have been able to make it to work that day, if your going to be in business you need to be more responsible and let your potential customer know ahead of time that they are not going to make it, and not wait unit the last min. to call and cancel

Luis arrived on time and took all measurements and answered all questions completely. Work was finished exactly on time and for a reasonable price. Would use him again.

Luis is very professional and easy to work with. I had about 6 other contractors give me estimates prior to calling Luis. His price was right in the middle of high and low bids. One thing that sold me on his services were the questions and comments he made prior to beginning the work. For example, he pointed out things that only an experienced fence builder and installer would think of: the sensor placement at the foot of the motored car port; the detailed design and installation of parts of the fence where large old palms interfered with the design; the need to keep the car port solid iron for easier movement and stability; the suggestion to alter the design slightly in its height because it would look aesthetically better. The other thing that convinced me to do business with him were the reviews here on Angies List. He had excellent comments and reviews, without any holes or negatives. By our 2/3rd meeting, he already had a sample of how the fence would look with an actual sample with iron cut and soldered. He took an entire day (after installing the basic panels) to carefully plan the design around my old palm trees - creating a template prior to soldering and painting. That was a detail I most appreciate and respect in any worker - care and consideration for design so as not to do the work wrong. You could tell he puts thought and pride into what he does. He even removed some buried concrete blocks where the old fence stood - a step that went above and beyond what he had to do, since it did not pertain to either the old or new fence. My only complaint was the sloppiness left behind. Unless I asked, the crew did not clean up after themselves very well at all. Its an easy fix, so as not to leave it to the client to take care of. Luis always took my comments and requests with professional courtesy, never complaining or avoiding the small things that make a difference in customer satisfaction.

Well since I was never contacted for the job, I did not do any business with them, nor will I in the future.

.Luis Barrera, owner of the 5 Star Wrought Iron Co. came to my home exactly on time, took measurements, and gave a fair price. He arrived the following day in the morning with his son and two helpers. The entire job (which we thought would take all day) was actually completed in three hours. We were extremely pleased with the new rails as well as the additional work they performed. They were tidy and cleaned up well.I highly reccomend this company!

Luis came on time and took measurements of all the work I needed done, he was very nice and knowledgeable. I went with this company because they gave me the best price and I'm very happy I did because they did an awesome job, everyone who comes to my house compliments my staircase

Gabino is a true professional in his craft of building high quality, well made iron works. Our railing was out of code due to age and was dangerous for our grand child so we contracted with 5 star to build a new railing. My wife designed it and 5 Star was able to craft was she designed into a beautiful and extremely strong railing. He made a number of trips to our house to ensure the design, measurements, finish and construction was first class. Once completed we could not be more pleased with the results. When guests enter our home it is a conversation piece and everyone wants to know who was the craftsman.

This was very pleasant experience. I received the estimate, which was pleasantly competitive, and the gates were fabricated and installed by Saturday. The people I interfaced with we're very friendly, sensitive to my needs and professional. I will continue to use them in the future and recommend them to anyone in need of wrought iron gates and/or fencing.

I left a message for an estimate, and I then allowed a few days considering the holiday weekend was coming for them to respond. Still no call back. Very unprofessional.

The team from 5 Star Wrought Iron came out on Monday to install my railings. They were early in arriving which was definitely a plus for me. I like folks who understand that by being on time means being early! The team installed my Handrails and did an excellent job in final paint touch-ups and placing custom painted caps over the sections where final welding wads done to secure the railings. At my sons house, there was a mix-up in the measurements for the railings. Mr. Barrera apologized and assured me the railings would be installed by Wednesday (today 4/16/2014). True to his word the new railings were installed and my son and his family is truly pleased with the outcome. What I found out from Mr. Barrera is that every railing they install is custom built. The quality of the work is unmatched. The pride of craftsmanship is apparent in the finished product. I would without reservation absolutely recommend 5 Star Wrought Iron.

Luis is a soft spoken gentleman. I showed him pictures, and he drew something up. Within days, I had a new gate and a gorgeous new wrought iron railing on my staircase. I have an old Mediterranean home, and a few people asked if the railing is original. we are getting ready to put in new gates, and we have asked Luis to come out again. HIs English is not great, so make sure that you have pictures (or some good basic Spanish)!

We decided we wanted those with steel cables and a wooden handrail. Gabino was super helpful. We had not quite made our minds how we wanted them to loo and Gabino would bring samples whenever we could not picture the end result. He always answered our calls and kept our appointments but what impressed me the most is that he was genuinely interested in making us happy with the end result, and I have to say they look beautiful!

Everything went as planned except they had the colors wrong on a couple of the gates which they corrected quickly and the galvanizing subcontractor took longer than expected but overall a good experience and excellent work. It will help if you speak spanish.

I called 5 Star on Tuesday afternoon (11/12/13) and Luis Barrera came to my house the following day. He came right on time in the morning and proceeded to take measurements. He was very pleasant and very nice. I received the estimate that afternoon by email. I accepted the estimate and 3 of his workers showed up on Thursday (11/14/13). The crew chief was Luis Barrera's son. I believe his name was Joe. They went right to work. They were extremely professional and they did a great job!!!

We had a rocky beginning. The father who came out for bid only spoke Spanish. The first bid I got was incomplete. I then gave them one more chance and the owner (son) came and we discussed everything I wanted. They wrote up a better contract and did everything on it. The crew was very professional and took pride in doing a complete and thorough job. The end product looks wonderful and all the renters are thrilled to have new railings. Karen Gale

Luis, the owner, came the same day I called and helped me figure out the details of the railing I was looking for, including by drawing the details we were discussing. He provided me with a price as soon as I confirmed the details and then sent me a written estimate by email. Right then I cancelled another appointment for two days later since I thought the price couldn't get better and I didn't want to wait. Since the work was custom and he was far, he sent me pictures of the ironwork for me to approve before sending to the powder coating finishing. I requested that he change the direction of the screws that I had misunderstood and he was fine with that. He came to install it with one other person in less than a week. The installation required some work because the window sides are not exactly parallel so some required a reduction of around 1/8" either on top or below to adapt to the asymmetry of the windows. The paint needed a slight touch up in a couple of spots, which is fine. I'm happy with the result. It's what I was looking for.

Very prompt in setting up an appointment. The owner came and took the measurements and explained the fabrication and installation of the security bars. He has been doing this for a long time and it shows in his knowledge of his profession. On the day of the installation 8/9/13 Luis Barrera the owner, one of his sons and the two other workers showed up on the time we had agreed on and began working. My wife has a lot of plants on the porch and they were very careful in moving them so they had the space to work in. It took a little longer then they thought to finish the job so they came back the following day to do paint touch up on the bars. They cleaned up their work area and overall very satisfied in the work they performed in my house. The price was fair and I highly recommend Luis Barrera of 5 Star Wrought Iron.

Luis came out with 2 other men to install the railings. Again, he was exactly on time. They installed the railing which exceeded our expectations. It is really beautiful and so well made. The installation was exceptional. This rail isn't going anywhere. I feel comfortable that my parents will be safe using it with their full body weight to help them up the steps. They installed it quickly and efficiently and cleaned up afterwards. I would highly recommend 5 star wrought iron to everyone!

They came out absolutely beautiful. He turned it around in less than a week. He came out several times to make sure his installation was done perfectly and that nothing moved or got loose after the floorwork was finished. It was a pleasure working with him. WIll absolutely 100% use him again for my future railing work. His pricing was fair right off the get go. There was no need to haggle. Craftmanship was impecable. My house has for sure appraised in value with this added touch. I would very highly recommend Luis and his company to anyone. Can't say enough about how happy my wife and I are about the look of the railings.

I don't know if he gave the best price. I didn't comparison shop. But he was prompt, courteous and responded to each of my questions. It took about 3 weeks from estimate to installation. They arrived on Saturday before Father's day. They were here the entire day, until 7:30 PM. It was not complete yet. They came back on Father's day to complete. I've had many compliments from my neighbors. I had a problem with the lock on the driveway. I emailed them and they came out the next day to adjust the lock. I'm hearing impaired so all communication was done via email and they were always very prompt to respond and handle my question or request.
