Description of Work: We had requested some help with a leak under our flooring. Kratzer Plumbing responded quickly and when they arrived, were honest about the fact that they would not be able to complete the job. I was not charged for anything, and was referred to another plumber in the area who might be better equipped to do the job. We followed up on that lead and we were able to have the work completed.

We called another plumber who stopped the leak for $125. |He said we did not have to go through the expense of having the paving company |lift the pavers because he has a machine that can drill a hole the size of the pipe |under the walkway. We had our gardener dig the ditch and the plumber drilled the |hole under the walkway and installed a continuous 250 psi PE pipe connected with with brass fitting for $850. | |We did not use Kratzer Plumbing because the solutions offered by the other plumber were better at a considerably lower price, and we also avoided the extra |cost of lifting and reinstalling pavers. | | |
Description of Work: We called to repair a break in the water line to the house from the meter. They refused to repair the break because they said the water line was too old and we needed to have a new water line installed. Their recommendation was that, since we had a very good gardener, he would dig out the 100 ft long trench to the house from the meter and have our paving company lift the pavers on the walkway to dig the trench there. Then they would lay a continuous PE tubbing in the trench and connect it to the house and meter for $2,000.

He is busy the rest of the week, and gave a recommendation for another plumber who could do the work timely. How many times have been left hanging or never get a call back? Lee ALWAYS follows through. Overall, every time, he does a great job.
Description of Work: We've used Lee Kratzer for years, for just about every problem imaginable Water heater replacement, backed up plumbing, leaks, faucet replacement. His latest service was to find and repair a buried main line. We had roots in the line, and the entire house backed up late one night. Lee came out around 10:00 to see what he could do, and was back early the next morning to start the job. The line was buried in the back yard. He found it, repaired it, and placed a discreet

+ -1 moreWe were very pleased that Lee's bid by Kratzer Plumbing was by far the lowest bid. I watched the whole time and the quality of the work was professional and careful and efficient, not lazy. Lee snaked out the 4 inch service sewer line after installing the 4inch cleanout and found 2 roots, one of which was sizable, since the 2" under the house had been cleaned/snaked yearly , but this 90 degree angle 4" had probably never been cleaned properly since the custom ranch house was built in 1953 for less than $20,000 !! So Lee did three valuable tasks:1) installed he cleanout, 2) snaked 100ft using 3/4"cable and 4 cutters to the street sewer main and beyond, and 3) small diameter snaked the bathroom tub, twice, to clear a massive hair blockage.
Description of Work: We had a cleanout under the house in Willow Glen, San Jose ,Ca. but plumbers kept telling us they were not allowed to use it on the near side to the 4inch sewer line along the driveway, but only the 2inch on the opposite side of the house by the kitchen. I was told that prices for a 4inch PVC black plastic cleanout inline with the 4 inch service line cost $500-2500, depending on the digging. So i dug the 3ft deep hole, by 3ft long and 2ft wide to save alot of money. We liked one company at about $300. Angie's List also recommended another but we found their bid to be high. And Angie's List recommended an additional company, but there estimate was not "free" as the List stated, but $149. So we chose Kratzer Plumbing and Lee ,the owner, did the job for$149 for an hour and a half, plus had time to snake a plugged and standing water tub twice to clear it !! Our neighbors had used and recommended another company, not know their state license had been "suspended" by the State of Cafilornia. So the job was 1) install the 4 inch cleanout 2) snake it at least 73ft to the street's main 3)snake the bathroom tub.
