Fantastic! Could not be happier with Gary and his work. He was punctual, knowledgeable, direct and went so far above and beyond to make us happy that I can't imagine anyone ever having an issue with his company. The customer on here that gave him an F wanted to change his contract wording (they were both lawyers) and he was not comfortable doing that so he pulled his bid. I would have done the exact same thing. To give someone and F rating without having that person actually DO ANY WORK for you is laughable. Maybe a C, but an F - come on now! I would recommend Gary and Hartscape to anyone I know and will rehire him in a flash if I need more work done in the future.

Description of Work: Excellent service in full range of landscaping and related services. Highly recommended.
We had used Gary's company about 20 years ago for driveway installation and a backyard patio when we added an addition to our house. We had been so please with how well that work held up, when we decided to install a fire pit we included him as a bidder. He presented the most interesting proposal and his bid was the lowest. Of the two finalists, Gary included gas line installations, electrical work and sprinklers that the other bidder did not offer to preform. We would have had to go find separate contractors. Gary was a one-stop shop. Once the contract was signed, the work began almost immediately. His crew showed up on time each day, communicated with us well, worked fast and cleaned up nicely. The job took three or four weeks and Gary showed up frequently to speak with us and inspect the job. We could not be more pleased with the final product. Every time we entertained this summer, guest raved about the fire pit and each party seemed to always end up with a big group sitting around the fire. I would urge anyone seeking this kind of landscaping to seriously consider Hartscape and Gary Hart. William Nottingham 562-430-5762

We have used Hartscape Co before to do landscape. We had used them 16 years ago and we called them back and they are just as good. The price sounds like a lot but it was little for the work that was done. Their work was done on time, their crew was professional and they did some extra work without charging. They also took down a tree for my neighbor and it was completely free.
Description of Work: We just had a fire pit built by Hartscape Co. They built a patio and fire pit and wall for us and finished just last week.
Description of Work: I worked with the owner, Gary Hart, over a 2 year period beginning in 2009. I consulted with him for a complete backyard remodel project. He referred me to his friend, an architect, to have plans drawn up. This cost me approx. $1000. Due to the economy and his health problems, the project was delayed. We picked up the project again in January 2011. It took him over 2 months to send me a revised estimate. When he finally sent the revised estimate, it was accompanied by a contract. He called me 2 days later, on a Monday, and wanted to start work on Wednesday or Thursday of the same week. I told him that we had some concerns with the contract, especially the payment schedule that was based on weekly payments instead of on percentage of work completed. He told me that if we did not sign the contract and start work that week, he would have to start another project in the meantime. I said that was okay because we did not want to be rushed into signing a contract we were not comfortable with and also, none of the materials, appliances or fixtures had been ordered at that point so we did not want to be stuck paying by the week while we were waiting for materials, etc. to come in. He said the next project would be at least 4 weeks. After 3 weeks, I called him to check on the status of his other project and to let him know that we had ordered appliances. The next day, I received a short email from him telling me to find another contractor. I am very disappointed in Mr. Hart's lack of professionalism. I invested a lot of time and money into this project based on Hartscape being the General Contractor. After spending 2 years with Mr. Hart and being ready to proceed with the project but for the contract revisions, I am now left having to start from square one again with a new contractor. Mr. Hart knew that we wanted to have this project completed by the end of June and now, because of his unexplained and abrupt departure, that definitely will not happen. I am very skeptical of Mr. Hart's intentions looking back now as he was rushing us to get started and trying to force a contract on us, and then when we wanted to revise the payment schedule to be more fair to us, he dropped us high and dry. I definitely would not recommend this contractor to anyone.
Description of Work: They did a large renovation. They redid the backyard and we added artificial grass and had a wall built they did concrete work and tile work. They added electricity and lighting and they were the only one in the area that would install the artificial grass
