Delmae Pool Service

In anticipation of Mike beginning the service on Mondays beginning 2 weeks ago, I fired my prior pool service after being dissatisfied with their service. When I spoke with Mike by phone, I explained the reason I was looking for a new pool provider - I was disappointed that they were not filling up the chrlorine tabs in the floater and a couple of times, no one showed up to do the service at all until I called. In any case, Mike assured me he was a high caliber service oriented pool service. Well, I left for vacation with my mom at hom to be there for anyone, gave Mike my combination lock code to get access to the pool, but 2 weeks later I find out that he never came, never showed up, never called. I then left him a voicemail message to call me back to discuss this a couple of days ago, but still no response. With this kind of start, I will of course not do business with this man or his company at all - unless, someone contacts me to say he was in the hospital and unable to use the phone for some reason. In any case, if you are reading this review, save yourself and find another provider that is true to his word.

I recently purchased a home with a 1970s pool and an old Purex pool filter. While treating the pool to deal with an algae bloom, I found that I didn't know how to properly open and clean the filter. I called Mike on Sunday afternoon--he answered right away and scheduled an appointment for Monday at 1pm. Mike arrived right on time. He showed me how to open the filter and advised me about possible issues with the o-ring on the filter and explained that it occasionally needs to be replaced if it is stretched or damaged. He then disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled the filter, showing me the steps and tricks along the way. He answered all of my questions about replacing my pool pump with a variable speed model to save money and he recommended a different suction-based pool cleaner device when my current model needs replacement. He also performed a full water chemistry test and explained a few alternative options to the products and techniques I received from the local pool supply store. Mike was great--very honest, patient, easy to speak with, and he explained all of the details to me that the local pool supply store didn't. He is so much more personable than the teenager behind the counter at the pool supply store who lazily mumbled instructions to me. He had several recommendations for saving money, and offered a few options for different chemicals that were less expensive and more appropriate for my particular pool chemistry issues. I'm going to try to tackle the pool myself for now, but it's good to know that Mike is a phone call and a few miles away in case I have any questions or need any assistance.
