I've used him for multiple jobs and he does excellent work. He is very easy to deal with and I will definitely continue to use him in the future.

Requested owner Stephen Hume to come out to apartment building to give a bid on work there, specifically putting in a new water main line. He was on time but his energy and enthusiasm were definitely lacking. He walked around the property for a short time and said that this project was too big for his company. I wish that issue had been sorted out over the phone before the appointment was finalized. It would have saved us both some time.

Steve originally came to check the status of the plumbing of the toliet in the guest room. Upon checking he gave the advice that it was best to remove the toliet. Who would be that honest? Any other plumber would of did the basic service or charged us an arm and a leg (or two) to have the job completed. My husband agreed and when Steve and his assistant returned, he had changed his mind (husband) and wanted the new toliet installed in the hall bathroom instead of the guest bathroom. Steve took it in stride and did the job (with his assistant Rafael) smoothly. There are no words to describe the professionalism, patience, excellent quality service that Steve and Rafael performed. The patience Steve had when my husband changed his mind was incredible. This man should be the saint of plumbing.

They were supposed to arrive a little after 9 (I'm not a morning person). At 8:50, I looked out my window and they were in my driveway. They were going to wait until after 9 to knock on the door. I went ahead and let them in to start. I wasn't able to take my shower before they started working, but that was their problem. Steve replaced the outdoor faucet incredibly fast. The interior faucets were a little longer. The previous plumber (in 1991) tightened the faucets so much that the pipes were distorted. Steve had to cut open the wall, cut the pipes and solder on new ones. His assistant cleaned up the laundry room better than they found it. They gave me the name of a repairman to fix the wall and said he was willing to do small jobs. I haven't had it repaired yet, but I appreciate the recommendation. I asked whether we should change the shutoff valves to the townhouses, as my neighbor was told by a plumber that we needed to. I was prepared to have him replace all 3 in the complex - in fact, when I called him, I told him that it probably needed to be done. He said if they worked, why change them? I appreciate him not trying to get more work out of us. When I moved in, in 1991, I had a horrendous experience with plumbing due to the extremely hard water here. The washer faucets needed repair, but we couldn't turn the water off outside the house. The plumber tried to turn it off at the street so he could replace the shutoff to the house and the street shutoff broke. We had to get the city out to cut off the water to the block, fix the street shutoff, then have the plumber back to fix the house shutoff. After all this in '91, I was prepared to pay a lot more for the work done - again, he could have done unnecessary work and I wouldn't have been any wiser. He seems to be a very honest plumber.

Stephen showed up about 10 minutes earlier than we scheduled. He arrived with an assistant and I pointed out the location and the new garbage disposal unit. He and his assistant went to work and were done in 30 minutes flat. Stephen's not a talker, he's a man on a mission. Professional to the core, clean, organized, competent. And throw in the competitive pricing? I know who I will be calling on in the future for any of my plumbing needs.

Stephen was quietly professional and exuded competence as did his assistant. He was polite and obviously took pride in his work. He explained what the problem was and what the solution was. He was both quick and efficient. And best of all when he was finished he and his assistant made sure the work area and the surrounding area were clear of debris. Stephen is officially my new plumber and I will be recommending him to my neighbors as well.

It was a busy pre move in day, he was prompt, professional and reasonably priced I would hire him again.

Arrived on-time and effectively was able to troubleshoot the leak and find the location. Provided options and price quotes. Did about 75% of the work on the starting Friday, and finished up the following Monday morning.

We have been undergoing a remodel to our home. The first contractor we used was Stephen Hume of Hi Performance Plumbing. Stephen is an EXCEPTIONAL person to work with. From day one he has come into our home with no disruption, looking out for my pets, trouble shooting any problem that may occur and always going above and beyond to provide us with the exceptional customer service. Stephen is honest, intelligent, kind and trustworthy. He has always looked out for our best interests. On top of all of those things Stephen completes his jobs to perfect detail at a criminally low rate. I noticed you awarded Hi Performance and Stephen with your Contractor of the Year award in 2008. If you have any higher award this is the contractor who is most deserving.

We had recently had an extensive remodel done including bathrooms. The previous contractor had left us with several incomplete items, which he did not take responsibility for, and would not fix. 1st: The master shower was slow to drain and had been since we moved back in. The inspection plug had not been removed all the way. After removing the grate, Steve fixed it in about 30 seconds. 2nd: The master bathroom has 2 sinks, which had high end, wall mounted Kohler faucets that were installed incorrectly. They did not fit flush with the wall and there was a 1/4 inch gap behind them. It was a tricky problem to solve and looked like we were going to have to have the wall opened up and the pipes repositioned. That was going to be time consuming and expensive. Steve brought over a metal fabricator, and had him machine some parts that fill in the gap, Steve did not charge me for the parts. I paid the fabricator directly, and Steve came back and installed them. The faucets now look as if they were made that way. Steve came over a total of 4 times during the course of solving this problem for us. We are extremely satisfied and will definitely use him again.

We used Hi Performance for all of our plumbing during our remodel. You could not ask for two better workers than Stephen and Raphael. Stephan always gives exceptional customer service by always going above and beyond for his customers. Stephen took the time out of his busy schedule to meet with me at the plumbing supply to ensure I purchased the correct valve for my bath remodel. Stephen is exceptional at troubleshooting any problems that may arise. He noticed that our air conditioner condensation pipe was not properly installed and I should inform the company that installed our system. I asked Stephen if he would fix it for me because then I could be assured it will be done correctly. Stephen has been our top contractor that has completed his work correctly and with and exceptional eye to detail the first time around.

I asked him to pick up a water heater and he shopped for the best price for me. He estimated 3 hours but finished in 2 hours, was clean fast and efficient. I have recommended him to our HOA. I hope they will use him, as he seemed very trustworthy and knowledgeable.

So when we had two drain problems at the same time, we called him right away. He was early, cleaned out the drains, reattached the rod to close the sink and essentially made the middle bathroom tub usable again after a year of Drano and Liquid Plumber.

The person who came from here was very good. They are one of the best plumbers I have known. They did a very good job.

He was efficient, straightforward and very detailed orientated. I felt he was very professional and he takes great pride on the work he does. There was no up-selling, which I found very refreshing and honest. He made some good recommendations that saved us from an expensive overhaul we had originally planned. I would definitely use him again.

I called and left a message. He called back quickly, and we arranged a time to have the work done. He arrived right on time. He performed the work very quickly, exactly as promised. I was very happy with the quality of work, their professionalism, and I thought the price was very fair.

One morning we came down to a wet living room carpet. The water was seeping up near the front door. We shut off the main water valve. Hi-performance plumbing arranged to come over that afternoon. Stephen from Hi-Performance did some trouble-shooting and determined the general area of a leak through our cement slab floor, but he could not pinpoint the leak with enough certainty to drill. He would bring another contractor with a "sonic locator" the next day. The locator brought tools that could ascertain the exact place of the leak. The next day Stephen and his assistant jack-hammered our slab, cleaned the hole, and replaced a portion of the pipe. We could use the water again. The next day Stephen came and re-cemented the 3x3 area. It's now dry. The cost of the locator added $400 to Stephen's bill which totaled $950. Hi-Performance did a great job and made us feel comfortable with the whole procedure. We lost a good chunk of carpet. Our only complaint was against the insurance company (State Farm). The State Farm insurance claims adjuster came and said their policy excludes any sub-slab leaks. After speaking with an adjuster at Farmers, we decided to change companies. Farmers doesn't have that particular exclusion. I hope Angie will include more about insurance claims in the future. We found Hi-Performance through Angie and are very pleased with the information we received when we needed it.

Steve diagnosed the problem quickly, but had to fiddle with a weird configuration, so it took them about an hour. Steve was very straightforward and professional, and they cleaned up very well when they were done.

We had a backup of our drain and it turned out there was roots in our sewer line. He cleaned those out and installed a cleanout that s larger than the one we had, and it would be easier to keeps the thing cleaner in the future. It was good and he did a good job. He seemed honest about what he needed to do and his prices were reasonable. He seemed upfront about everything and he didn't seem to lie to you.

Stephen came almost exactly on the appointed time, assessed the situation, suggested a remedy and went right to work. He and his assistant worked rapidly and efficiently and had everything finished in about 30 minutes. They left the work area as clean, or cleaner, than it was originally. He also took a first-time $20 off coupon for the work. I was completely satisfied with the entire experience with this company. By coincidence, I later found out that my son used this same company for plumbing problems at his house.

He found it quick, fixed it and gave us a $20 discount. I would use them again.
