RJQ Landscape and Design

First, I bought a certificate for a 2 man crew for 4 hours of labor. I began calling to set up work in mid February. They kept putting me off. Often ignored my calls. I finally hired someone else to prep the back yard for new sod. I still had a small plot in the front. I was very specific about removing as much of the grass roots as possible. They weed whacked it to the ground, cleaned up and left. They didn't dig or till to get the roots at all. I will now have to hire someone else to actually do the job they were asked to do, as of course, the entire area is regrowing. If you do hire these people, be sure you are right there as they work, so you can make sure that they actually do what was asked of them. Other than the money I spent went to a good cause, this was a complete waste. I could've simply weed whacked it myself in an hour. I don't recommend them and I would never hire them for anything in the future. It was such a hassle just to get them out there at all....and then, they didn't do what they were asked to do.

provided a detailed bid in a timely, professional manner. the cost was very high. we chose not to negotiate because our other bid was in our price range.

We decided not to do the work at this time, as we are going to remodel our kitchen first. However, in the future, I would not hesitate to use RJQ for any future landscape projects. Bob's presentation was very thorough. And what I liked most is he drew up plans. This allowed us to actually see how the yard was going to be laid out. Very professional.

I just know that when I went to her house, her garden looked really nice. It looked really good, they did a rock wall and lot of details. We have red clay in our area in it is very difficult to do anything, unless you have the tools and it so expensive to rent the tools to do all the stuff and they came out and did everything that day. She said they were a great company. They did what they said they were going to do. They answer their phone calls and they responded. They had some things that they couldn't do and they hired a company to come out but they told her they were going to hire another company to do that work and will be supervising the whole job which they did. It was a good price for the work they did, if it was that amount, which I think it was. They were professional, she did tell me that they were a good company.

Bob and his team are awesome! We first contacted RJQ last year for our front yard make-over after a word of mouth recommendation. We were so impressed with the work that was done that we used RJQ again this year for the back yard. Bob is very honest and easy to work with. He was respectful of our budget and did his best to provide high quality service at a very reasonable cost. He has a landscape designer that works with him to make formal blueprints and we went with Bob to the nursery to choose the plants that would be used. He has a ton of knowledge about the types of plants that grow well in our area (especially because we wanted low water and low maintenance plants). The crew members are punctual, respectful and professional. We has no qualms about leaving them with access to the house while we were away. We highly recommend RJQ and will be using them again for other landscaping projects.

Completed the task, yard is clean, however some of the dripline hoses are weed whacked out of existence. Also, Bamboo plants were replanted in too wet of a location, and they have died. They have been on time, and polite,also completed what they indicated they would do. A bit pricey, but the job was done as contracted for.

They were wonderful. Linda was helpful and informational. She listened to what I wanted and came back with a price that was very reasonable. I would recommend them without hesitation. She was even able to get a crew out the same day to take care of some immediate needs.

Bob was punctual and professional with appointments before work began. Communicated clearly when there would be any delay. Gave me a written contract that spelled out exactly what would be done - as well as a large plan showing their vision for our yard. He employs a professional designer who also visited to talk to me about the plan, the plants she had in mind (soliciting my ideas) - and who returned on the day of planting to oversee the placement of plants. Areas were cleaned of weeds and soil enriched before planting day. They used river rock that we had on hand to make a and quot;dry creek bedand quot; in the long, narrow area next to our driveway, then planted around it for a very pleasing effect. They redid our sprinklers for better coverage and made an underground drain for water. In our backyard, the drip system was adjusted so that all the new plants would get water. The planting and application of bark all happened in one day. All the men who work for RJQ are professional, focused, and skilled. Raphael, who oversaw the actual job, is just great. We both really felt that we were in good hands from beginning to end. The finished product is beautiful and low maintenance. We couldn't be happier! Bob Quenzel came by on planting day, and again the day after to make sure that we were pleased. We already have plans to work with RJQ Landscape and Design again.

Very professional and thorough. Once work started, finished in a timely manner and without incident. Bob emphasized their main concern was customer satisfaction.

They came out with a good-sized crew and they got the work done quickly and efficiently. They made sure that the mess was cleaned up so the mess didn't create another mess; they left it cleaner than what it was. The owner seemed to stand behind his work; he even stopped by to make sure it looked good at the end.

We got two bids for the job and RJQ was substantially less thian the other one. Except for one minor criticism (below), the job went very well. The personnel at RJQ, from the owner to the newest laborer, are all exceptionally courteous, friendly, easy to work with. Our one problem concerned some very specific details I'd given the owner concerning the watering system. To ensure there were no mistakes, I had provided him a scale drawing of exactly what was required. The owner accepted that without hesitation and I assumed the installation would go as we wanted. Unforltunately, when the job started the on-site foreman was apparently unaware of those details, for he made two errors that required extensive rework--one of which would have been hidden had I not happened on the scene. Based on that experience, I'd say that RJQ is superb if you let them decide all the minor details and install everything their own way--it will turn out fine. But if you have certain specifics that are important to you, then it's necessary to either watch the job full time, or at least discuss such specifics in advance with the on-site crew, not just the boss. Again, that's only our one-time experience, and it would not stop us from hiring RJQ for a similar job.

There are a lot of things I like. They are very customer oriented, We are maintaining the yard ourselves now but they are open to coming and if you've got questions they will come out at anytime and go back over your landscape with you. They will repair, they will service. They will work with your budget.
