Jose is probably the most conscientious contractor I've ever had. So detailed. So careful. So forthright. Very communicative. Price was very reasonable. Always comes when he says he's going to come . The final outcome is excellent and we love our remodel.

Zavala construction repaired the following items in preparation for a home sale: deck/exterior wall paneling, plumbing underneath the house, and wood rot fungus removal and treatment. Very courteous and professional. Hardworking and punctual, and the rates are extremely competitive. The work done was excellent. I plan to hire them again for some additional work in the near future. I was looking for someone who could repair the top of my 2nd story chimney. Jose looked at the issue & advised that the chimney cap had a hole in it & needed to be replaced. He showed me a photo of the hole in the cap. This was not in his area of expertise. He also suggested that I replace the wood around the chimney as it was in poor shape. He gave me an estimate to replace the wood & to also remove all of the pine needles on my roof which I really needed to have done. He did his best to try to temporarily cover the hole in the cap. I am satisfied with the wood replacement & roof cleaning & would contact him again when needed. I am still needing someone to replace the chimney cap on my 2nd story.

Jose was prompt to respond to a bid request. Was not the lowest, but I selected him because of quick turnaround as I needed repairs done to start other work. During his bid, I let him know my near term plans for large scale projects. My hope was to build a long term relationship with a trusted contractor. We even went to look at a neighbors siding replacement that he worked on. Quality of work was overall fair. On the start day, he showed up early and finished on time. We wanted to keep him happy for future work, so we offered to clean up and dispose of any trash. After he left, we noticed that a piece of trim adjacent to a piece he replaced, was inadvertently damaged. Communication was inconsistent. While on site, we found him pleasant to work with, so we asked a couple times for a bid to frame our deck. He only provided an estimate to do the entire deck (frame to finish), so we assumed he did not want to take on a small project. Then, when we noticed the damaged trim, I gave him an opportunity to respond to gauge his communication style if we award him our large scale projects. His response was seriously? I gave you a good deal. I kindly asked if he wanted the opportunity to fix the damage, but his reaction was to blame me and complain that he made no money because materials cost double of what he quoted. Firstly, it is not my fault that estimates were off, and had he told me on the day of the project I would have tried to find an equitable solution to keep him happy. I also never assumed he would fix the damage for free, but he did not give me the opportunity to discuss things with him before reacting. Overall, I am sad because I wanted to build a long term relationship with contractor who is solution oriented. Communication is very important to us. If you have small projects where communication/workmanship is not a big deal, go for it. Read the other feedback and the manner of response and decide for yourself.

Josè did an excellent job installing our patio screens. He was very communicative about the process and asked for my approval before making any necessary changes. I really appreciated Josè’s thoroughness from beginning to end of the project.

Zavala Construction was the first company to promptly respond to my request, with-in a few min. of requesting for a quote I got a call from Mr.Zavala, Jose. He was very polite and professional in trying to gather details about the job.I am yet to hire them but so far I am impressed with his response and professional interaction. Hoping for a continued involvement to have the job completed. Will send an updated posts at each stage if I choose to go with Zavala.

Jose is very conscientious and does excellent work. He had to install 6 windows, replace a lot of flashing, but up siding on a wall and along the eaves. And other related work. His bid was so low I gave him an extra hundred dollars because I was so pleased.

If someone gives you a quote they have stand to the quote not change it in the middle of the job.

Professional and knowledgeable. Installed a new light fixture for us! Something I had been trying to do myself for a while with little success! Now I can cross that off my list!

Jose repaired our backyard deck. He did an excellent job. He finished the job on time and was very courteous. I’d hire him again.

Jose worked on deck and trim work for my house. He was punctual. However, I felt he was very slow. That cost me extra money. Quality was average but the major issue was tidiness and safety. I needed to collect a bunch of big nails and clean up after his work. Also, I felt he did not like showing any gap in his work. Always complained about lot of work which he was hired for. He was very much on time for showing up and going back.

Jose was very experienced and prompt. He installed a glass shower enclosure for us. He was very professional, clean and courteous. We will be calling him again for other jobs.

Awesome experience getting my roof back to its original color. However the cleanning blew lot of algae/dirt into my neighbors yard and mine which we had to clean (no additioal help)
