+ -1 moreMr. Lemke actually never showed up to any of the hearings even when he was granted the postponements. I am happy to say, that I won the case. The judge was unhappy that he never showed up to any of the 3 hearings and found Innovative Surfacing liable for 87% of the damages. The company that hired them was liable for the rest. They have paid and settled with me, but I am still waiting for Mr. Lemke from Innovative Surfacing, Inc to pay his share.
Description of Work: See my previous problem only recently posted by Angie’s List. Mr. Lemke, the owner from Innovative Surfacing had continued to not respond to my request to fix the problems. I sent several certified letters to him/company with no response. Therefore, I took Innovative and the company that hired them to do the job to small claims court. Mr. Lemke tried to put off the trial and postponed as many times as he could. It took almost a year from first trial date to actually finish and close the case. I had to testify 3 times in front of a judge to explain my case because of his delays.

+ -1 moreHE PATCHED THE HOLE. WHEN HE PUT THE SINK BACK ON AND TRIED TO CONNECT THE PLUMBING HE BROKE THE PIPES. FRANK SAID HE COULD NOT FIX IT. HE CALLED INNOVATIVE SURFACING AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD TALK TO MY DESIGNER AND FIX IT. HE WAS EXTREMELY APOLOGETIC AND TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. I NOTICED THAT YOU COULD STILL SEE A SEAM IN COUNTER TOP,THE UNDERSIDE OF THE COUNTER TOP HAD BLOCKS OF MATERIAL HOLDING THE PATCH ON. WHEN FINALLY I SPOKE WITH THE PERSON THEY TOLD ME WAS THE OWNER, JIM LEMKE. THE NEXT DAY ON NOVEMBER 30, 2005, I CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE FOR JIM TO RETURN MY CALL.HE CALLED ME BACK, PROMISING THAT A NEW COUNTER TOP WOULD BE MADE.I CALLED BACK AND LEFT A MESSAGE ON DECEMBER 1, 2005 TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT THE NEW MATERIAL.HE CALLED BACK AND LEFT ME A MESSAGE, ANOTHER VOICEMAIL I STILL HAVE SAVED, AND HE SAID HE WOULD TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR A NEW COUNTER TOP, TO ATTEMPT ANOTHER REPAIR, NOR THE DAMAGE THAT FRANK CAUSED.I HAD TO PAY $300 TO HAVE THE PLUMBING REPAIRED.
Description of Work: IN JULY OF 2005, THIS COMPANY CAME OUT AND MEASURED THE SPACE, RECEIVED THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CUTOUT FROM THE DESIGN COMPANY AND PRODUCED A COUNTER TOP. IT WAS NOTED THAT THE CUTOUT WAS 5 INCHES FURTHER RIGHT FROM WHERE THE DESIGN PLAN PLACED IT. I SPOKE WITH TAMI FROM INNOVATIVE TO SET UP A DATE TO FIX IT. I TOLD HER THIS PLAN WAS ONLY ACCEPTABLE IF THE CUTOUT AND REPAIR WAS AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL CUT, AND THAT THERE WOULD BE NO SEAM OR VISIBLE LINE. SHE TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD BE AS GOOD AS NEW, AND THERE WOULD BE NO SEAM OR LINE. IT TOOK TAMI SEVERAL WEEKS TO GET THE MATERIAL, MAKE A PATCH AND SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. TAMI SAID THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT, SO THEY WOULD REMOVE THE SINK AND PLUMBING FIXTURES. NOVEMBER 8,2005 WHEN THEY SENT OUT THE REPAIR MAN, FRANK, HE CAME OUT AND REMOVED THE SINK AND PLUMBING. HIS PATCH WAS TOO SMALL. HE THEN PUT THE SINK BACK ON AND CONNECTED THE PLUMBING. HE RETURNED ON NOVEMBER 28, 2005 TO FINISH THE REPAIR. HE REMOVED THE SINK AND PLUMBING.

+ 0 moreI WAS MORE THAN IMPRESSED WITH THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE OF HAVING THIS COMPANY DO MY KITCHEN COUNTERS. NOT ONLY DID THEY BEAT THE OTHER COMPANIES' PRICES BY A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT, THEY WERE MORE THAN KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE PRODUCT & INSTALLATION PROCEDURES. I WOULD MORE THAN RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO HAVE NEW KITCHEN OR BATHROOM COUNTERS INSTALLED.
Description of Work: I HAD NEW COUNTERTOPS PUT INTO MY KITCHEN. I HAD CHECKED OUT OTHER MARBLE/GRANITE COMPANIES, BUT WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE MATERIAL THIS COMPANY USED. THERE WERE ONLY A HANDFUL OF COMPANIES TO USE CAMBRIA ENGINEERED STONE (LOOKS LIKE MARBLE). THE ESTIMATOR CAME TO MY HOUSE, TOOK MEASUREMENTS, & EMAILED ME APPROXIMATELY 2 DAYS LATER WITH A PRICE. THE PRICE WAS FAR CHEAPER THAN OTHER QUOTES I HAD RECEIVED. WHEN THEY ARRIVED TO INSTALL THE CAMBRIA, I WAS MORE THAN IMPRESSED. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME, WORKED THE WHOLE TIME WITHOUT A BREAK, & FINISHED IN A TIMELY MANNER.
