+ -1 moreWas willing to discuss over the phone the possible reasons my fridge wasn't getting cold and what each would cost to fix. Mike arrived in time for our appointment and even called when he was 10 minutes away. He quickly determined the defrost unit was broken, causing ice to build in the freezer and block air flow to the fridge. An $18 part which he carried with him. He was honest, efficient, and brought years of experience doing warranty work for most of the major brands. He doesn't do sales so there was no pressure to replace vs. repair. Will definitely use again. Highly recommended!!

+ -1 moreHe arrived at the time he said he would. Very quickly he diagnosed the problem as a clog in the drain of the dishwasher. After clearing the drain, he then ran the dishwasher through 5 cycles to be sure that it was draining as it should. During this time he explained the procedure, the quality of our unit and traced the manufacturer history to the various quality of models available. He was very professional and courteous during the entire process and was finished in under 30 minutes.

+ -1 moreWhen these efforts did not remedy the problem, he did not charge us for the part he had ordered. We only had to pay a $60.00 service call fee. He suggested that the part that failed, a part that he did not order without telling us about the cost, would be close to the cost of a new drier. He spoke highly of the older model driers that lacked computer boards. We took those observations under consideration. We went out and bought a used drier from an individual for $95.00. We called him about doing some minor repairs on the used drier when we got it home. He came and did that at no charge. We considered his approach as honest, professional, and customer-friendly. We would recommend him.
Description of Work: The service performed involved attempts to repair a drier that would not run. He spent many hours and even ordered a part to replace something that might have been the cause.

Description of Work: My husband called Mitchell's to get an estimate on repairs for a dryer that takes forever to dry clothes and a freezer ice maker that wasn't working. The tech asked my husband some questions and made a few suggestions of things to check regarding the dryer, which my husband said he'd already checked -an estimate was given of $65 for labor plus parts and we set an appt for the following week. Our tech arrived right on time, dressed professionally, and was ready to work. I had pulled out the dryer that morning (to clean around it!) and disconnected the vent and found lots of lent. So when I told him that, he still checked it again, took it apart and cleaned it all out. Then proceeded outside and found more lent at the outside vent. He told me no repair was needed -just the vents cleaned out. (which was one of the things he suggested over the phone to check!) He moved onto the freezer-checked it, said he needed to order the part and we rescheduled for the following week. Told me the price For this visit was only labor and when he returned he would only charge me for the ice maker part itself. He arrived the following week, again on time and ready to work, completed the repair in about 15 minutes and only charged me half of what the Sears phone repair service said the part would cost! Needless to say, we were very pleased, Now my dryer and freezer both work like new! Yea!

+ -1 moreI have a GE side by side that is almost 10 years old. It stopped getting cold in the freezer and in the frig. It has a digital read out so it is controlled by a computer board. When I called Mr Mitchell, he promptly returned my call. He asked all the right questions and was able to give me an estimate over the phone and let me know what to expect, worst case scenarioe, price wise. He arrived on time - spot on - and quickly went to work and determined it was the computer board that needed replacing. He did not hesitate to get on the phone to find the part. He was able to locate a distrbutor, on his first call, who had the part in stock. He left, returned with the part and installed it within 30 minutes. He was very professional and explained what he was doing as he went along. He put everything back in order and adjusted the temperature settings. He let me know that he would return at no additional charge within 30 days if I had any problems. On the invoice, he included the part number and the name of the distributer. Overall, he was very professional and personable. I will definitely contact him in the future.

+ -1 moreAfter calling Sears repair and getting an estimate of over $ 600.00 to repair the control panel on my oven and I was told that they wouldn't guarantee that would fix the problem, I thought maybe I should call someone else and get a second opinion, boy I am sure glad I did. Mitchell Appliance gave me a firm estimate of $ 325.00 and guaranteed their work. Whenever I need appliance service again, I am Calling Mitchell Appliance.

+ -1 moreOverall it went great; I have a major trust issue letting strangers into my home since my husband died but this company I felt very at ease and I will use them again if need be; they acted in a vert professional manner.
Description of Work: I have a 9 year old Neptune washing machine made by Maytag. I began noticing a noise like something was loose. Also when I went into the laundry room I noticed a small amount of water on the floor. I described the whole problem to Mitchell's Appliance, and he knew right away it could be one of two things; first the pump might be out or the drainage tube could be plugged. He quoted me prices and came out on the agreed time and I might add he came out a half hour early which was great. When he arrived he went right to work and walked me through the whole process and showed me what was wrong.

Description of Work: My dishwasher's been broken for the past few weeks and Mike came in, explained what could be wrong, figured out what it was and fixed it. He thought there might be something wrong with the motor and told me what the options would be. I really appreciated the fact he didn't try to talk me into repairing my dishwasher if it was the motor because it wouldn't have been worth it.
