The painting was quickly and adroitly performed by a very steady-handed fella, Ron Noble. Ron and John frequently work together as multi-talented handymen. John's plumbing tasks carried unwelcome surprises. First, the factory-supplied warranty faucet had different fittings than the original, necessitating replacement of the under sink stop-angle valve and new adapters. John adroitly sized the problem then took off for the hardware store for right parts. Installation in my highly restricted-space under-sink cabinet proved to be a challenge, calling for unusual tools. John had the tools and put them to work quite effectively. Job well done! Bonus added to the very reasonable bill and new work scheduled. Another point I'm obliged to make. In these days of poor customer service, both John and Ron fully understand and demonstrate the value of over-the-top service. My BS detector is well-tuned, and I must say that both guys are the real deal. They believe in sharing their knowledge and paying it forward. For example, part of the painting job was the application of special silicon-based caulk in an exposed seam. Since most of the tube of expensive caulk was left over, John instructed me on how to apply it myself using common rubbing alcohol to remove excess and smooth the finish. Yet another point: a difficult problem is the screening on my large screen room. It's approaching 20 years and has a few rips. Ron is a specialist in large screens and amazed me with both his recommendation (buy bulk screening for the best price) and <$75 bid to install new panels that are over 3 x 9 feet. I already had bids exceeding $400. Guess who's getting the job!
