The job was well completed and on time.
Description of Work: I used Carter Plumbing. I used them through my home warranty. The cold water faucet was leaking, and he had to come out and replace the washer.

They were changing off the plumbing, the pipes, they said they did and they actually didn't. They didn't get a permit. They didn't change the plumbing. There was a leak from it. They're really horrible. They lied about what they did. I paid for a re-plumbing and they didn't do it. It's underneath the house, it's in the basement so I couldn't get to it so I was under the impression that everything got changed. When they came out to finish the work that they did, they left holes all over the walls. It was just awful. I'd give F on everything.

Carter Plumbing was assigned to us by the home warranty company. I found water leak in crawl space on Monday, called home warranty company on the same day, and got an appointment with Carter Plumbing on Wednesday (I understand if they were already booked for Tuesday). Technician came to our house and he didn't have copper pipe to fix it (seriously? What plumbers don't have pipes with them?) He had to call the office and they needed to call me to reschedule for repair. No phone call on Thursday, so I called at 3:40. Their office closes at 4, but already voice mail and no returned phone call on Thursday. I called the office on Friday late morning, and they told me that they scheduled me on Tuesday between 10-3pm. I called them at 1:30pm on Tuesday, and they told me that my appointment was on Wednesday instead of Tuesday because they only come to my area on Wednesday. I have already spent all day on Tuesday waiting for them! On Wednesday, the technician came to our house and he told me that the job only takes 15-20 min and really easy job. For such a simple job, why did it take 1 week to fix? While we were waiting, water was still leaking, which cost us money and more water damage. It is not technician's fault, but definitely the manage meant is awful in this company, and I will never use them in the future!

Description of Work: I bought a house that came with a "home warranty". Not long after moving in I found out that my shower was leaking into the walls. The drywall was soaked from the bottom up and there was water dripping into the crawlspace. | |My home warranty company put me in touch with Carter Plumbing and they came out to take a look. They wouldn't even walk through the front door until I wrote them a check for my deductible. The guy took a LOT of pictures and finally figured out that the leak was coming from the shower arm and that he needed to order a part and that the part would cost extra if I wanted a finish that would match the rest of my shower. I agreed to pay the extra cost and was told he'd be back within a week to finish the job. | |The details become tiresome but the reasonably short version is that Carter didn't show up again, even after repeated calls. At one point they told the home warranty company the job was completed and had them close the incident. I tried to get them to send another plumbing company but they wouldn't do it so finally got Carter to send someone back. | |The person who I had to deal with at Carter was very unpleasant and not at all helpful. She flat out lied about several things along the way and only cooperated when I finally found someone at the warranty company with the authority to remove them as a contractor. | |The guy that finally came out about a month later was a nice guy and I had no problems with him. He apologized because the part they send was nearly twice what I'd been quoted (and I did have it in writing) and rather than keep fighting with them I just paid what they demanded. He did fix the problem and that's why I gave them a "B" grade for "Quality". Everything else was a nightmare.

Carter Plumbing was assigned to us by our home warranty company. They were unable to do a same day appointment for all of our drains backing up. Scheduled an appointment for the next day (today) between 10am-3pm and was told the repairman would call when he was on his way. As of 3pm the repairman had not shown up, nor had he called. I called Carter Plumbing and the receptionist said she would track him down and call me back and let me know when to expect him. After waiting 45 minutes, I had not heard from them so called back...and only got their answering machine. I called my warranty company, who also tried to call Carter Plumbing, but neither of us could get anyone to answer the phone. Warranty company ended up calling another plumbing company who came to my home 2 hours later and fixed the problem. I will never use Carter Plumbing again. Especially after seeing other's reviews an Angie's List and the fact that they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau.

My review on yelp has too many characters to put on Angie's list. Basically took advantage of my girlfriend because they didn't think she would know better. Told her it was working and left a receipt then told the home warranty company a different thing. Said I needed to replace the hot water heater, but it was my fault it broke and the warranty company would not cover it. Carter came up with this after a less than 5 minute evaluation and no tests run. I went elsewhere and replaced the thermocouple for 12 dollars. Carter is abusing the warranty company. Liars and unprofessional. They have an F on the BBB rating.

Description of Work: Our hot water heater pilot light was failing to stay lit. I was out of town and the plumber attempted to take advantage of my wife's lack of knowledge in this area. The plumber 'claimed' that the heater was broken and could not be repaired with a new thermo-coupler and it would cost us (with insurance) over a $1k to replace and bring to code. I called another plumber and for the price of a new thermo-coupler and 15 minutes of labor, the hot water heater is working just fine. | |My experience is that these guys are crooks! Call them at your own risk!!

Absolutely dreadful! The worker came out and told me that he didn't have the part, but that he thought they should. He told me that his office should be calling me back today to schedule a time for tomorrow. That was 11am. At 4, I call the company to try and et some answers. Not only have they not had any communication with that worker, but they didn't even know if they had the part in their warehouse and wouldn't know until tomorrow morning. I spoke with the receptionist and then the owner took over the call. She told me that I was "being over dramatic" and I was "acting like the world was going to end" over this. I would hope companies would have more respect for their clients and appreciate that everyone has different stressors in their lives. The bottom line is, you shouldn't treat people so horribly, but then again they now have my $75 and won't have to follow through with the job. If you have AHS, be prepared to deal with impatience and intolerance from this company.

i placed a service call through my Home Warranty Company for a Plumbing Service. With our drought, explained I was concerned about a possible water waste from my toilet. Explained I wanted a reputable company that I would be checking through Angie's List. First one they offered wasn't on it, so they tried again. And found Carter Plumbing. Received three "A's" and a not so happy review. However I decided to give them a try. Placed the call on a Sunday and their office responded first thing on Monday. Could have serviced me that day (between 9am and 1pm) but I had to roll over the appointment to Tuesday instead. Technician (Justin) came right on time! Very pleasant and professional!! I explained issue, he recognized the possibilities and tinkered around for the cause. Fixed the toilet tank value system and "tuned up" the mechanism (tightening it and regulating the water fill level, etc.). Then as requested through the service call, he took apart the (right side) sink faucet set and discovered that the inside of the water handle wasn't even functioning because someone (previous owners) had tried to glue the piece (ring?) back together inside. He said that it wasn't even practical to try and fix. So he offered a new faucet set from the truck, which matches very, very well with the left side sink faucet set. He installed it quickly, cleanly and very neatly, so that (after 3 years) I am finally able to use the right side of the counter sink as well as the left side! Justin, the technician was very polite, informative, he put on the "carpet booties" right away without even being asked, left the bathroom very clean. No fuss, no muss. I would recommend the Company, and use them again.

A variety of technicians came to the home between april and december, at least 6 visits. they would replace one connector and hose at a time hoping to solve the problem; loss of heat . covered by our home warranty, all they had to do was see that the length of time the water was hot was decreasing dramatically. mid year they told us just flush the water heater, and no they could not perform that due to liability( we were later told they can and should do that as a diagnostic)- we flushed the water heater, and both shut off valves broke- left us without ANY water over the weekend since we had to shut of the MAIN to the house. Very dissapointed, not punctual. the office receptionish continues to give excuses about the other office person and why they STILL have not pulled the REQUIRED permit for the job with our city( part of the home warranty states that the company will pull the permit and the cost is covered). This job was completed 12/4/2013, and as of this date 1/28/2014 STILL no permit.
Description of Work: after repeatedly being called out from 4/2013-12/2013 they finally reccomended a water heater replacement.

Overall we had a great experience. The secretary is excellent and very personable and made sure that we had all the information prior to installation of the new tank water heater. The plumbers arrived on time and installed the water heater quickly. We are pleased with their work and would certainly use them again! 2016 UPDATE 3 years ago we considered their job top notch then time passed and showed that their installation was done very badly not using galvanized piping (according Goodman Plumbing which is fixing the issue) and therefore RUSTING was inevitable over time. We had a young guy (John) coming to check it out in at the end of 2015. He was pretty rude and besides admitting that the job was not done properly by the company in the first place he took no responsibility to make things right. I am sorry for any person that have this company coming to their house because they will receive a poor service. Goodman plumbing told me that they went pretty cheap on the job to save money and the result is that because of their poor work ethic I have (less then 3 years later) had the job to be redone. Kudos to Randy the owner of the company for taking no responsibility for his company's poor job. I suggest you take a course in work ethics eventually it could pay off and get you more business, honesty pays!!. I am sorry Angies' List still have this company among his services providers because it is a mediocre company, but I am happy that as long as they stay here everybody can see what their work is really worth: an "F"

This was a home warranty call in regards to a kitchen faucet with low water flow. The "plumber" came out, undid the faucet head, claimed it was dirty, and told us to clean it. Suffice to say, we were not exactly satisfied as without the head the pressure was still low. He said he had already told the warranty company that we would be asking for a second opinion. So, he actually anticipated that we would have to use another company. Amazing. What a waste of everyone's time. We eventually had another plumber come out and they resolved the issue completely to our satisfaction.

The owner schedules appointments and is relatively responsive on the phone. Yet, both times I called, she indicated one time for service but told the plumber a different time. I kindly spoke to the plumber that showed up about this issue who in turn told the owner. The owner's response was to refuse any future service as she considered me a "complainer."

The company was contracted through my home warranty service and had serviced my water heater in the past. The plumber who finally did the work was friendly and professional but the home office/dispatch experience left a lot to be disired. I first had the company come out on Nov 22, 2009 because the hot water heater stopped functioning properly. The first plumber reconnected a burned out wire, but that didn't fix the problem. A week later another plumber came out and said that the water heater was damaged beyond repair and needed to be replaced. He said there was a safety issue because one of the wires was burned out and could cause a fire. The water heater was under warranty but that was information I had to discover on my own because the company did not do that research. In conversations with the office/dispatch, the office manager complained about having to get a new water heater, complained that the manufacturer of the water heater was difficult to deal with and even suggested that she would not get the water heater if the manufacturer didn't agree to pay her up front for the new heater. She also complained that she didn't know who the local distributor was. I had to contact the manufacturer myself and instruct the plumbing company to contact the manufacturer to get whatever required invoices or purchase orders were necessary and to find out who the local distributor was. Over 4 weeks I called the company every 1-2 days to find out the status of getting the water heater fixed. The company never initiatied a call to me except to schedule an appointment. I was never told by the company that in addition to the service fee, I would have to pay for "modifications" to the plumbing going iunto the water heater. I learned about that when the plumber showed up to swap out the water heater, 3 weeks after my initial call to the company, and informed me that I would have to pay close to $200. I called the company and was told that "modifications aren't covered" under my home warranty and that the home warranty company should have told me. I called the home warranty company and was told that they did not have a record of the service order to replaced the heater! So I had to call the plumbing company back and tell them to get in touch with the warranty company. The plumber left and I was without a replacement water heater for another week. The comnpany should have been more communicative and gone out of its way to assist me, rather than complaining and not following through on what they were supposed to do.

Had Carter's Plumbing come and look at our toilet which another plumbing company said it needed to be replaced. The toilet was fine but the grabage disposal was not working. Carter's Plumbing got the disosal working but notice the kitchen faucet was needing to be replaced. Set a appointment and a guy named Rick came on a very rainy day and replaced it. A very good job.

I was pleased with their service and responsiveness.
Description of Work: I felt my faucets were leaking around the edges. They were prepared to come the next day. They found it was the aerator where the water comes through the faucets preventing proper drainage. It caused the water flow to spray. He recommended I replace the aerator. He also checked the water pressure to make sure it was ok. I called them a second time when I could not remove the old aerator for replacement and they returned promptly at no additional charge to assist me with the removal.
