Description of Work: I had a sewer pipe failure that was an emergency. Drain Masters took over where Pipes Pluming (another Angie's List recommended vendor) fell down on the job.

Description of Work: Drain Masters cleared 3 external drains clogged by the rain. This was emergency service.

Description of Work: I used Drain Masters Plumbing Company for drain clearing in the kitchen. I was having some problems and they did some valve replacement there.

Description of Work: Needed less that a foot of copper water pipe rerouted to avoid roof work in garage area. Salesman showed up on time and started telling me it was going to be a hard job due to closeness of pipes to wall. Our framer who was putting in new garage door and roof said he thought job should take a bout 2.5 to 3 hours max. This guy writes up a quote for $1,050 dollars! I ask him how much that is per hour and he says they don't work that way and I think he has seen a 70-year old retiree and decided he would try to over bid the job - astronomically. He said he didn't want to offend me but what was I expecting to pay? I said not $350 dollars and hour. He said a mistake has been made. He went to the car and called his boss - he said - like they do on used car lots - and he came back with a magnanamous reduction in cost - this time to only $800.00. I said sign the quote and leave it on the table. he said wait yet another minute as he rushed to the car and came back with another lower quote - this time all the way down to $750. I told him to leave as I would be getting some other competitive quotes. Back on Angie's List I found a handyman who had good reviews about small plumbing jobs - he came over the next day and said it would take take three hours at $40 and hour. $120.00 v. $750!! His name is James Bailey and he did a fine job in three hours. i recommend him to any one and everyone - not just for pluming but for all handyman carpentry, painting, electrical fixture work too. dc
