Restore Your Floor Hardwood Floor Restoration

We used RYF to restore the Douglas Fir subfloor in our living and dining rooms and Oak in our hallway and bedrooms. We were very impressed with the final result! John, the owner, and Luciano, the lead on the project, were both extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Both took the time to thoroughly educate and explain to us the work and cost of restoring our hardwood floors and installing baseboards with quarter rounds. John even took the time to call me on a Sunday morning to make sure I understood everything. Luciano was such a hard worker, even showing up at 4 am the last day to apply the final coat to the floors (we weren’t living in the house at the time). Luciano and his team worked through the weekend, too, to ensure a timely finish. I never felt like they were rushed, though. Painters came in immediately once the floors were dry so we don’t have final pictures of the floors yet (because they are covered to protect), but we will update this review with the end results. Overall, I would highly recommend RYF to anyone looking to bring old hardwoods back to life. I’ve already started to give out John’s number!

I knew I wanted to replace or refinish whatever wood floors were under the laminate wood floors in my 1920’s bungalow with addition. So many possibilities as to what we might find, what it would cost, what type of product, method of installation, etc. It was a real challenge. I got quotes from three different contractors with widely different prices, materials and methods of installation. When I first called John I felt he was experienced and knew what he was talking about. He gave me some ballpark $/sf figures for removing, replacing, restoring and refinishing, which held true to the end. He also helped me understand the options and what each of those would entail in terms or time and disruption. He helped me reach an informed decision and carried out the execution of the plan beautifully. I am 100% pleased with the outcome of the project and would highly recommend his team with his wife and his installer Luciano (and my dogs are pleased too and loved Luciano). I feel I got a top-notch floor at a fair price.

The floors looked great.

Excellent. We received a phone call the day after our initial inquiry and were able to schedule a quote that same day. Nelson came out and carefully walked through the process and the total square footage. Later that day, John gave us a quote which ended up being less than what he had initially thought. Work began the next day and was finished within a week. The quality of the work is evident as the floors look brand new! The crew was always on time (sometimes even early) and always very, very professional. They worked quickly, were very friendly, and were always able to answer questions and provide recommendations. Our house looks amazing and it's such an improvement!

We contacted them to fix our floors due to our floor heater being removed. They were prompt in getting back to me regarding all my questions. They were professional and courteous even when I had to cancel and reschedule due to an emergency. When Nelson came to fix our floors he was on time and very knowledgeable. He made me feel very comfortable and helped me to understand the process. I love my floor! Nelson did a fantastic job fixing the hole and adding new wood. He made it look so similar my family couldn't even tell where the repair job was done. I will be calling them to refinish my floors in the near future! Floors look brand new.

John was prompt with an estimate. The job was done in a very timely manner and professional manner at a fair price. There were issues with the existing floor where pieces needed to be replaced because they were damaged, he communicated the issues and quoted the additional expense clearly. He waited for approval before doing any additional work. All of the replacement pieces look original. You can not tell where the floor furnace vs. original flooring. Excellent work!

I had a young man out here, he wasn't from Angie's List, he did a very good job. That was with Restore Your Floor Hardwood Floor Restoration. It cost me $650. I thought they could have done better with the price. I mean they did a really good job. They were late. I would use them in the future and drive a harder bargain.

I had Restore Your Floor refinish 210 sq. ft. of solid bamboo flooring. The flooring was badly discolored and slightly cupped in one section. I spoke on the telephone with John, the owner, and he gave me a verbal estimate based on my description. He then arranged for his workman, Luciano, to come to my house to confirm the job. Luciano arrived on time and confirmed what needed to be done and then reported to John. The flooring job was done the next week by Luciano. He did a very careful job of sanding and then applying three coats of polyurethane varnish. He is an excellent floor re-finisher! It was a two day process and the floors look brand new! I couldn't be more pleased!

We had one week to refinish the floors in our new house, before we were to move in. Unfortunately, this company did not meet our agreed upon deadline and our floors were not ready on move in day. This necessitated us spending the night in a hotel and having the moving company come the next day to move us in. The company representative kept telling us he would do whatever it took to get it done, but that didn't happen. There was one day when no one showed up to work at all (we were told they had a sick call). The overall sense I had, was that they were overbooked, trying to do too many jobs at once and our job clearly suffered. Once the week wore on and they clearly were not going to meet the deadline, we cut down our job from three coats to two coats.
