I contacted Mike on Angie's list based on his reviews and location. I called him and left a message and he called back the same day. We scheduled an morning appointment time that was convenient for him. I cleared my schedule to meet him. I waited for him and expected him to show up on time and he did not arrived. I waited 15minutes before contacting him. I called his telephone number, the phone rang a couple of times then it was sent to voicemail. I left a message and he did not return my call. I waited for an hour and he did not show up for the scheduled appointment. It has been two business days since appointment. I have not receive a call from him to inform me he had an emergency to reschedule the appointment. I am very disappointed with angle's list recommendations.

Mike showed up on time and completed all the work I wanted to my satisfaction. Fabulous.

The washer is now leaking, but not sure whether it is related to the hook-up or not. Will follow up. Very responsive and came out same day.

I called Michael to schedule doing the work. We had a date scheduled and planned to meet at Lowe’s to get materials. When I arrived at our first appointment, he did not have the measurements he had taken, and lost the estimate he had given. He delivered the toilet and would start the work Monday at 9 am. However, he found the toilet was wrong and would not fit because he did not have the measurements with him at Lowe's. He called me at 9:15am on Monday and told me he was feeling sick and would try to come later that day, sometime after noon. Because of his disorganization I told him I was not comfortable with him doing the work due to not having measurements, getting the wrong toilet, and not having the estimate he had created. Mostly, I was unhappy he did not show up on time. He called me later that day and left me a message stating me he was charging me $125 dollars for delivering the toilet even though he did not show up for our appointment and got the wrong toilet. He also never had mentioned this charge before and we never agreed to how much that alone would cost. He also never offered to return the toilet.

Mike did a great job. He called me right back and came the next day to bid the work. He showed up on time, cleaned up after himself, and finished the job on time. He does all the work himself. His bid was accurate. I highly recommend him and will definitely call him again.

Mike was great. He shows up on time. Gives an estimate ahead of time. Get's right to work, he is honest and hard working. My husband and I wish we had found him sooner. We have used him twice now and will be calling him again for other things around the house too.

He was fast, efficient, courteous, and I feel happy to have found someone reasonable who I can trust.

In finishing up a kitchen remodel, I needed a professional to do the above work. I called mike on a Thursday, he answered my call immediately and said he could come Saturday afternoon after finishing up another job. Saturday morning he called and said he had finished up his other job early and wondered if he could come early. Of course I said yes. He arrive at 10:30 and after quoting me a price, got to work immediately. Mike was friendly, professional and efficient. He got everything done in a very reasonable amount of time and even found time to try and help me reposition my stove. Mike was a pleasure to work with and I have already asked him to come back and do some other jobs for me. As I said, he is friendly, professional, efficient and reasonable as well as the quality of his work being excellent. A rare combination these days!

My master bedroom gets much hotter in the summer (and much colder in the winter) than the rest of the house. I wanted to add some insulation above my bedroom; however, the area above the room was difficult to access since the original attic hatch was on the opposite end of my house. This meant crawling on my belly through a dusty attic. I decided it would be a lot easier to have another attic hatch created in the master bedroom closet. While searching the internet and Angieslist for handymen in my area, I came across Mike Handyman/Plumbing service. What drew me to Mike was his 30+ years experience, the fact that he was local, and had a very positive review on Angieslist. On May 13, 2013, I e-mailed Mike and asked for a quote to create a new attic access hatch. Within two hours of e-mailing Mike, I received a response and received a very reasonable quote. Mike also requested we speak on the phone, so he could get a better idea of what I wanted and so he could run me through on what was involved. Based on my availability, I scheduled for service a week later. On May 20, 2013, Mike called an hour before arriving and was right on time. He introduced himself, shook my hand, and presented his business card. I then showed him where I wanted the access hatch and he proceeded to unload his truck of the materials needed to complete the job, as well as his tools. Mike had all the tools he needed, and the inquisitive side of me noticed that he had some high quality, brand name tools. Mike was very calculated in his approach to his job, and his experience and expertise really showed. He took his time to determine the best place to position the access hole, and also asked for my input. In fact, Mike was one of the friendliest, down to earth, and engaging handymen I've worked with. His communication skills were excellent, he let me know what he was doing every step of the way, and he didn't mind that I hung around to watch him work. Now back to the job... Mike measured out a 2' x 2' access panel, cut out the plasterboard ceiling, and then removed a ceiling joist that was in the way. He then custom made some 2 x 6's, and framed the new hole to add needed support to the existing ceiling joists. He then finished the attic access by placing trim around the hole which also held the new drywall panel (which he also provided). While working on the trim, Mike's attention to detail was evident as he measured carefully, and made sure the trim was mounted squarely around the attic hole. I've dealt with other workers before, and Mike was not like others who would rush the job at the expense of doing quality work. Mike made sure he did a great job. Oh, and another thing I liked is that he asked for trash bags, so he could minimize the mess. After the job was completed, he gave me great advice about proper attic ventilation and gave me some ideas about keeping my attic cooler. Even with all the great advice, never once did he try to upsell any services, and never once while he was working did I hear the dreaded words, "We have a problem". Those words usually mean extra work/and extra expense is involved. Everything went smoothly. His quote was spot on and included all the materials and labor. During our conversation, I learned that he used to build houses back East, has done many years of home remodeling work, and has also done some plumbing work (working for a major plumbing company). Overall, I was very happy with his work and I definitely would hire Mike again. In fact, while he was there, I got some quotes for other projects and will give him a call when I'm ready to proceed.

A Gem of a Handyman I have used Michael?s services on four occasions. He has always been punctual, professional, and has always completed the job when promised and at the agreed price. He keeps me informed - explaining what's needed whenever I have questions and his experience shows! The first time I called him, I had a plumbing emergency, and he was able to get to my house in less than 45 minutes! My water heater was leaking and even the platform it was standing on had rotted out. Michael built a new platform, installed my new water heater and repaired the damaged drywall behind it. When he was done, everything looked perfect! My new heater is running better than ever thanks to Michael. The second time I called on Michael for help was when my garbage disposal went out. He installed a new disposal in no time and left the area beneath my sink cleaner than it had been before. The third time I called Michael was to have my flat screen TV mounted on the wall. I was expecting him to have to run unsightly power cables on my living room walls, but he was able to make them go through my walls so that the wires were invisible. Last time Michael came over was to have my daughter's room made over while she was away with her grandmother. She had a very intricate "perfect room" idea - involving a plethora of colors and stripes - and she had drawn it out on paper once. Michael checked back with me countless times to make sure the painting job was in line with our expectations, and he sure did impress! He even assembled the furniture as well as doing the shelving. I'll never forget the look of joy upon my daughter's face when she opened her bedroom door for the first time. I have consistently been very happy with his work and you can expect to be as well! I look forward to having him on my side to help finish many other projects around the house.
