Mike always showed up when he said he would, and the tile looks good. He was suppose to put a shelf in the niche, but never did. He said he would put a marble top on my vanity, but when it was done it looked horrible. When we talked about it, he indicated that he only agreed to do the top as a favor, and that wasn't something he typically did. Unfortunately, he hadn't advised me of this. Mike was suppose to come remove the top and install the niche shelf, but, after waiting 2 weeks, we removed it ourselves and hired a different vendor to complete the vanity top. I am quite disappointed, however, because everyone I have contacted regarding the niche shelf has said it needed to be installed during the tiling process. In addition, the contractor I hired to do my other bathroom had to fill in some grout in a few spots as well. I believe the problem came down to communication. I originally hired Mike on a relative's recommendation, and she was thrilled with his work.
Description of Work: Tiled a shower/tub and installed a marble tile floor.

Estimate was great. Started on time, were clean and professional. Job was completed in a timely manner and looks and functions great.
Description of Work: We had Custom Tile install ceramic tile in our front entrance, guest bath, entryway closets (there are 2) and our kitchen. They did a marvelous job. In fact, we used their services several years ago to re-do our master bathroom and laundry room. We plan to use them again when we do our fireplace and/or other tile work.

- I know it's slate, and the height of the tiles are different, but one of my outlet covers sits against a piece of slate that is about 1/4 inch farther out than the rest of the pieces around the outlet box. Looks ridiculous. If it was me and I did this for a living, maybe I'd have made the thinset/mastic layer thicker in order to have more ability to adjust the height of the tiles. - On another outlet, he cut the hole too big so that when you screw in the outlet it has no edge to press against to secure it. I'll have to jury-rig some kind of piece of wood or tile inside the outlet. - I had to take a tile out in a very conspicuous area and replace it with another one because it looked awful. The slightest attention to quality control would have dictated using a different piece. I don't get it. Thank goodness I inspected the whole thing while the thinset was still wet.- We discussed taking out the under-cabinet light fixtures and tiling behind them, but that didn't happen. He just cut around them and didn't bother with it. Now a problem I anticipated before hand has come up - the harsh flourescents make the grout color look way different than it actually is, and I have to live with it or have giant missing sections in the tile if i remove them for some other lighting option.- He brought in a scrub to do the second day sealing and grouting. The guy left our kitchen a mess and my wife had to clean it up.- Calls to him after the check was cashed have gone unreturned.
Description of Work: We hired them to install a slate backsplash in our kitchen. The craftsmanship was okay, but there were a few things that left a bad taste.
