Services we offer
All types of roofing systems, composition shingles, flat roofing specialists, concrete and clay roofing tiles, general carpentry, skylights and Sola-tubes, cool roof systems and coatings, shower pans, roof removal and disposal.
Our roof had been thoroughly worn out and Weathermaster replaced it quickly, professionally, and at a competitive price. Chris came out, we discussed options, and he answered our questions. He was very courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. Later, after receiving and reviewing an estimate, which was nicely broken down by category, we decided they were the best choice for us. Our roof was a motley of old and older tiles with improperly flashed sky lights and water-damaged decking. They removed it in one day, and replaced it with new, energy star-rated tiles during the following three days. They replaced unsightly whirlybirds with low-profile vents, removed an unused skylight, patched a random hole left from a vent that our house's previous owner removed, and painted all the flashing to match. One of our biggest concerns was the upright solar panels on our roof. They worked around them seamlessly and sealed the contact points with the roof. Note that this was all completed in 100 degree weather in Santa Ana conditions. Wow! Impressive and very pleased with the result. On a final note, they cleaned all around the house and garage, picking up all the little bits of old tile, which was more courtesy than we really expected. In the end, our house stays at least 10 degrees cooler in hot weather with the new roof, and we are enjoying our energy savings. Highly recommend!

Chris was just great. The caliber of this subcontractor does not come along very often. Not only was his bid very reasonable and the work clean, timely and excellent, but he provided us with a 10% discount for being an Angle's List referral. This was a real savings for a small homeowners association. I highly recommend Weathermaster Roofing. They arrived on time and immediately began work. They removed the old roof and completed the new roof in 2-1/2 days. They cleaned up the area each day. All of the homeowners in our condo association are very happy with the job. The roof looks so good. We were provided with an exceptional warranty as well.
Description of Work: Chris Wilder with Weathermaster Roofing Services came out to look at our 26 year old roof and prepare an estimate to re-roof our building of five condominiums. Chris met with the President of our Homeowners Association who has been in the building and development business for over 35 years. We had received two additional bids and chose Weathermaster based on the recommendation of our HOA president who was very impressed with the owner, Chris Wilder.

The garage was pooling water and Chris fixed it right up. Always on time and always a pleasure to work with. I have an 8x12 shed in the rear that was not included on the bid. Chris had his crew reroof that as well just so it would match at no charge (except the extra shingles)! I would recommend Chris over any other roofer in the area!

I know another member of our condo association wrote a positive review of Weathermaster's work, but I wanted to add my comments because I was so impressed with the level of their workmanship. The crew was always on time, cleaned up after each day's work, worked quickly, was very pleasant and easy to work with, and, above all, did an absolutely beautiful job on our roof. I could not have been happier with the outcome. We were able to save 10% on the cost because of Angie's List and this was a bonus as we are a small association. Two other reasons we selected them included their excellent reviews on Angie's List and their bid was lower than the other bids we received. We are all very happy we went with Weathermaster and highly recommend them to anyone who wants a beautiful roof, excellent workmanship, and a fair price.

I needed a roof and gutters for a new patio. I called Chris Wilder at Weathermaster and he came out for a closer look at the Job. Chris arrived at the time we had scheduled. He was very professional and took the time to address my questions and concerns rewarding the new roof. He explained the process step by step and after some measuring the work are he was able to give a quote with the first half hour of his arrival,Something that I really appreciated. We agreed to the price and got the job done. New roof looks great and the gutters matched the color of the facia to the T. I am very happy and would recommend Chris and his crew. Professional, competitive price and completed the without any delays. Great work!

I got reviews from three providers that were highly rated on Angie?s list. Chris Wilder of Weathermaster Roofing gave an estimate that was $5,000 less than one of the others and almost $8,000 less than the other. I can?t imagine a better job. The roof is beautiful. They came when scheduled, worked fast and cleaned up after. Chris had estimated a week (as had the other contractors) but completed the job a day earlier than promised. He was very helpful about planning the project, explaining the pros and cons of removing the original roof and providing estimates for both types of projects. I think there are two reasons for the huge difference in price: first, Chris has you pay for the materials directly to the building supply company, meaning he doesn?t take a cut. Second, his is a small company in which he does the estimate and supervises the job himself, so you aren?t paying for a lot of extra overhead.

.Chris saw the water marks from a leaking roof, then looked at the cement shingle roof and skylight and decided that all the shingles and flashing and paper underneath would have to reworked and gave me an estimate followed by a contract online which I signed. The next day he said the crew would start work the next morning. The crew of three came promptly at 8am. All the shingles in the suspect area came off an approximate 8' X 20' feet strip. New flashings, tar and paper installed followed by reinstallation of the cement shingles. They were done by 2pm. Chris knew the problem from a work he did in a similar job of a neighbor and answered my concerns. Really a nice person to work with who knew what he was doing. I will hire him again if another leak occurs on two other skylight area.

We had a 30 year old shake roof that really needed replacing. Of the half dozen companies that I contacted for estimates, Chris Wilder, the owner of Weathermaster Roofing Services was by far the most responsive and professional of the bunch, and the estimate made many of the other company?s offers almost laughable. I had a very tight timeframe in which to get it replaced. I am currently stationed in Japan, so all of the coordination had to be done long distance. Chris was prompt with all communication and kept me in the loop for all of the preparations. Chris and his team did an awesome job, on budget and ahead of schedule within the week that I was back in the states ? I couldn?t have been more pleased. The team made short work of a messy job on a complete teardown and replacement, including replacing a couple of facias. Highly recommend Weathermaster to any and all!

Chris is very organized, efficient and professional. He created a bill of materials for me to purchase directly through a local vendor to be delivered right after the old roof was gone. He had a crew come in that specializes in roof removals to take the old tile off. They were very fast and neat. Because we have several dogs, they swept the yard a couple of times every day with a magnet to remove any stray nails. He even covered my stuff in the garage with plastic to minimize debris and dust! At the end of every day, they swept the walkways and driveway, and picked up any debris on the lawn. It was two and a half days from start to finish (and it was not a small roof). Except for the inevitable noise, it was very good experience. I highly recommend that whether you are looking for repair or replace, you call Chris to give you an evaluation and estimate. I think you will be very happy you did!
Description of Work: Chris & crew removed my old tile roof, redid all the old flashing (finally stopped the chimney from leaking!) and laid down Owens Corning “Tru-Def Duration” dimensional asphalt shingles. He also replaced a small section of eave which had prior termite damage with new wood and redid my flat back porch roof.

We started by selecting three highly recommended Angie's List roofers. My husband, who works construction, interviewed all three and liked Chris the best because he was an excellent communicator and is on site at all times working with his crew. We were very pleased his estimate was the lowest of the three. I didn't have to ask for proof of insurance or workers comp; those things and other information about the materials he would use were provided with the estimate. The project proceeded exactly as outlined on the estimate and in the time Chris specified and he was very good at keeping us informed on how things were going and where they were in the project. We now have a beautiful new concrete tile roof with state-of-the-art ventilation and no more worries about leaks. I appreciated his attention to cleanliness, including covering our attic with plastic and cleaning up the yard each day before the crew left. We could tell Chris enjoyed his work and ensured it was done to the highest standards and he was always available to answer any questions and deal with any concerns. We could not have had a better roofing experience and highly recommend Weathermaster Roofing.
Description of Work: Entirely reroofed our 1890 sq. foot home. Removed all layers of existing roof down to skip-sheeting/decking, installed new decking, repaired dry rot and termite damage and replaced wood where needed and painted it, installed all new underlayment & flashings, two skylights, O'Hagen vents, concrete tile, and raingutters.

We have used Weathermaster Roofing in the past for extensive roof repairs on another house. We feel they are the best roofers in town. The owner, Chris Wilder, is the most conscientious, responsible, ethical and detail-oriented person you will ever meet. He tells you exactly what the problem is and never tries to up-sell the job. Chris is directly involved from start to finish, so you get the full expertise of a roofer with over 25 years of experience. We were so happy with the work that Chris did on the previous house remodel that we asked him to evaluate the condition of our 24 year old roof for maintenance and new raingutters. Before I met Chris I would have probably avoided calling a roofer for maintenance assuming that they would find unnecessary work to pad the bill, but having worked with Chris before, I knew that he would give me an honest and accurate assessment. As it turns out, the roof was in decent shape and just needed some basic maintenance. I think there is a real advantage to having an experienced roofer plan and install your rain gutters particularly if you have an older roof with aged felt because they understand how the construction of the roof should tie in with the gutters and will avoid compromising the existing structures. They use IMS or ABC which make the best products. Swany, his raingutter man is a veteran who constructs nice, tight miter joints. They reinforced an area for ladder access, transitioned the colors over the siding and trim, and replaced some old drains. The end result was a nice finish to our roof and trim. I noticed one of my neighbors must have liked the result because they used them as well. Whether you need a new roof, old roof repairs, roof maintenance, or rain gutters Chris does it all well. I wish all my other contractors were as good and easy to work with.
Description of Work: $400 for roof maintenance of a 24 year old roof (sealing vent pipes, extend (1) vent pipe, repair or replace broken tiles, secure all loose tiles, and installation of a diverter. $1050.00 for installation of new rain gutters

The owner Chris was the one who came to the appointment. He was on time and very professional, we talked for a little bit and discussed what was to be done, (This was a Big Deal, so what was to be done was already pre-determined somewhat). After our conversation he did what was discussed. When he was finished we discussed what he found and he advised me accordingly. He was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. It was a pleasant experience, I will definitely consider them when it is time to replace my roof.

We had a leaky roof and need help ASAP. Chris was very good at getting back to me and all delays were 100% my fault. He didn't get up set, and when we finally scheduled a day, Chris showed up on time and was very professional. The leak was fixed, and some other potential trouble spots were addressed. Our rook is pretty old, so this was a temporary fix. We asked for and received a quote for a new roof, and were very happy with the price. When it comes time to do it, we will be giving Chris a call.

The team replaced my old rusted and hole filled rain gutters with beautiful new seamless rain gutters. They look like crown molding for the outside of our home. I had no idea how much this would make a difference in the look of our house. The roofers completed some much needed repairs on the roof before 'winter' hits (since we live in San Diego, I use this term loosely, but it does rain here). The roofer team also completed some venting needed in the roof. I could tell the difference in temperature in the house and the garage by the end of the day from the venting. It is amazing and since it was the hottest day of the year that day and we live in a typically hot area of San Diego, it is going to be such a difference in our temperatures. Weathermaster is a family run business and you can tell how much they care about the quality of their work and care for their customers. I feel like I made the right choice in service providers and am comforted by knowing the high quality of work performed. This company doesn't try to sell you products and services you do not need. They are honest, forth-right and will fit the services needed to each situation. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs their services.

Description of Work: $175 for Tile Roof Tune-Up! Big Deal Promotion.
I am a veteran Angie?s list user. My system is to usually pick the companies with the highest number of positive reviews and awards and then read several reviews to narrow down to 2 companies for bids. This time I needed a roofer because we had inherited a house with multiple roof leaks as well as extensive dry rot and termite damage to the eaves. While searching the list I stumbled across the name of Weathermaster Roofing. Although it did not have the highest number of reviews, I noticed that several people had taken extra effort or went out of their way to write what I would call ?special reviews? that were unusually complimentary. So although I usually go with the ?high rollers? on Angie?s list I took a chance and met with Chris Wilder of Weathermaster Roofing. He has a great personality, so from the moment you meet him you instantly like him. He has been described as a ?roof geek? because he is extremely intelligent and technical in his approach to roof construction and this gives him the ability to trouble shoot complicated and difficult construction problems and come up with clever and unique solutions. He has a passion for roofing and works extremely hard to go above and beyond to diagnose the problem and find a solution. He executes his plan in the most thoughtful, organized and controlled manner I have ever seen any contractor do. He also takes the time to explain to the owner in detail what is wrong and how he will fix it. When he is done, you have the confidence of knowing that the problem has really been addressed and fixed. He uses high quality materials and doesn?t cut corners or band-aid anything, so you don?t have to worry that something will be skipped or overlooked. This approach is extremely valuable when you have a complicated roofing project. It saves the owner from having to personally keep track of every detail. Chris is so responsible, you don?t have to worry that anything will be forgotten or left out. In the past what I have disliked the most about working with contractors is the stress involved with having to push to get things done or re-done correctly. Working with Weathermaster was the most stress-free experience I have ever had. I actually enjoyed it and that almost never happens. I hate remodeling with a passion. I have done several complete old house remodels and have been through the bidding process many times. What I have noticed after several years of doing this dance is that often the head of the company will come out and put on a good show for the bid and talk a good talk to sell the job, but once you've accepted you never see this ?experienced and knowledgeable? person again and all your wishes and requests never get passed on to the people who actually do the work. Sometimes the boss doesn?t even return to see what kind of job their employees actually did. In other words, the bid was great, but the execution disappointing. This problem does not happen with Weathermaster roofing because Chris Wilder is there the whole time from the start to finish, so you have the technical roofing expert there every day on the roof doing the actual dirty work with his crew. If you are tired of being impressed at the bid and disappointed with the results, I can guarantee that if you choose Weathermaster you will witness flawless execution at it?s best. This company is a hidden gem on Angie?s list because the quality of their work is higher than most of the ?high rollers? at the top of the list, because Chris is so personally involved. They do a very clean demolition. Even when your roof is being taken apart, everything is kept neat and tidy and controlled. They do not work in chaos. Chris is a detailer who gives you choices on all the aesthetic touches of the roof. He made mock-ups of two different ways to finish the ends so we could choose which look we preferred. They painted or dyed materials to match the color of the roof and organized and straightened all our previously crooked tiles. They also painted the fascia boards prior to installation so there would not be any raw exposed wood ends to cause future rot. Their pressure wash is a thorough, full day affair. Doing this after all the leak repairs are completed is the best test for the effectiveness of the repairs and it removes all the black mildew stains from the roof tiles. They even washed the mildew stains off our front sidewalk which was not in the bid. After they were done it looked like we had done a whole new roof and not just repairs. Some specifics about our job was that we had roof leaks in 3 separate places due to the original tract home builder cutting corners in construction. Our second bid was a ?high roller? on Angie?s List who tried to sell us a new roof right off the bat and would not even consider repairs. Chris gave us options for doing either repairs or a new roof and did not try to up-sell us. We decided to go with repairs because he gave us a 5 year warranty for repairs and stands behind his work. They fixed all the leaks, installed new weather blocking, repaired all the dry rot in the eaves, installed new rain gutters, and also installed a new underground drain in our front walkway which required removal and repair of the floor tiling. The new drain will fix the previous puddling of water in the front walkway because Chris thought to move the location of the drain from it?s previous high point outside of the walkway tiles to a lower point inside the tiles for more maximum drainage. Chris is a 25-year licensed roofer who has expertise in several related areas. So in one fell swoop, I had one company fix my roof leaks, do excellent carpentry replacement of all the dry rotted wood in the eaves, install new rain gutters with a new drain and do a re-tiling repair of my front walkway. I did not have to hire 3 separate contractors. I got an efficient, professionally executed job delivered in the most stress-free pleasant manner. I wish all contractors were like this. In a nutshell, if you need roof repairs and would like the peace of mind that your roof problem has been thoroughly diagnosed and fixed with a long-term solution, use Chris. If you would like a new roof which is thoroughly well constructed to give you the maximum lifespan and bang for your buck as well as being so aesthetic that your neighbors will actually notice you did something, use Chris. If you are tired and stressed from having to continually oversee and inspect your contractors work or fight with your contractor to get the job done use Chris. Roof problems have the potential to cause significant expensive collateral damage to house structures and cumulative repair costs and stress over the years. This is something where you don?t want to just pick the lowest bid. A good roofing contractor is worth their weight in gold. They save you money in avoiding future repairs and trouble. Whether you are keeping or selling your house, you don?t want to have issues with the roof.
Description of Work: Exposure and repair of three separate roof leaks, replacement of extensive termite and dry rot damage in the roof eaves involving the entire perimeter of the house, installation of new hip and ridge weather blocking, installation of two new chimney caps, pressure washing of the roof, installation of new rain gutters, installation of new underground drain with repair of front walk-way tiling.

Chris was extremely professional and made the entire project as smooth as could be expected. He was always on time, extremely professional, friendly and did outstanding work. He also worked well with two other contractors that I hired to do some electrical and insulation work that needed to be done at the same time as the roof replacement. He was very reliable. When he said he'd show up at a certain time, he showed up at that time. He completed the project within the time frame that he gave me in advance. His worksmanship was top-notch.

I had purchased the "Angie's list deal coupon" which stated that I would get roof inspection service and repairs on the roof. The gentlemen came exactly as the appointment time and looked overed the roof and told me that repair of the tile roof was not covered on the coupon. By the way, the coupon did not state any exemptions. They inspected and found 10 cracked tiles and replaced them. I do not know what kind of quality of work was performed since I did not go on the roof. Only way to tell is to wait for the rainy season to see if there are any leaks on the ceiling. This is the reason for NA for quality of work.

The Coupon you purchased does state, that if replacement tiles are necessary, there will be an additional charge. I am not sure how to attach a copy of the coupon, you purchased? But if you would like I can forward a copy to your email. Thank you again for your purchase.- Chris Weathermaster Roofing Services

Had Weathermaster Roofing Services come out and inspect roof for leaks. They sealed around the edges of roof to prevent leaking. They were honest, professional and the work went well. Gave me some recommendations on the solar panels I had installed.

He came in and did the job. He took the nests down and putting netting up there to help. They did a great job and I do not have any birds up there now. They were there when I asked them to be, did the work and explained what had to be done. They were great. I thought it was a great deal. Very nice.
Description of Work: I used Weathermaster Roofing Services to inspect the entire roof, did some sealing, and a quote.
