Slayton Mechanical Contractors

One of the employees his name is Mike last initial is L. This is the worst company ever to do business with their employee does side work and apparently since my unit they said was a side job they are not honoring the $3,800 that we I mean my landlord shelled out and it stopped working after a week. I have text messages going back and forth with the receptionist or dispatcher and I am 61 years old and it has been so hot up here and I have no air conditioning and no recourse because Mike refuses to come and fix this and it was his side job but you think this company would just make it right because they told me they were going to fire him and they did not

We have become dissatisfied with this vendor. I called with an AC down and was told I would be called back shortly with an appointment time> No call. I called at the end of the day, Thursday, and was told to hang in there, I am 5th in line. Monday, I call back and obviously I was forgotten about. They apologized and sent someone the next day who simply told me that I needed to replace the AC unit. It took me another week to just get the estimate of what that price would be. $7200 for a 3 ton unit and they would have to get it from LA and would have it in the next five days. I called Bob Jensen, they came out and gave an estimate of $5100 for the same system and they have it in stock and can install tomorrow. Done deal, they also upgraded me to a down shot system for less than what Slayton wanted to charge. I understand this was a well run and competitive company. That was then, this is now. Call someone else.

This company used to provide outstanding service at a reasonable cost. Not any more. I have dealt with them several times during the last few years, but will not anymore in the future. They will either send you an inexperienced technician at $85 per hour who will spend 5-6 hours trying to figure out what to do. You will end up having to call the switchboard for a new experienced tech. Then, you will get the bill for the rookie's time and the experienced tech's time (this one at $125.00 per hour). I had to argue over ballooned charges of tech's time and other costs such as trip charges with their billing department. A simple repair that took 1.5 hours was billed to me at $700. I was able to get it reduced, but only after they couldn't prove the tech's overstated time and other charges. I would not recommend this company.
