They showed up on time at the first appointment to diagnose the issue, which was impressive since they were able to come out the next day after I called (close to July 4th). They had to come back about a week later to finish the repair. The second appointment went well, but they were about an hour late. The tech apologized several times and he did a great job fixing the A/C!

The company was very professional and very nice to work with. The estimate was provided by Max and the installers came out about a week later and took two days to install the units. They went out of their way to make everything easy for us and to take care of their work without inconveniencing us. They were also very nice and friendly.

After I called for an estimate, they were very responsive to my request. He arrived on time and gave an estimate and description of what they would do to remove my old furnace and install a new one, as well as an air conditioner. Their price was competitive, but since I as planning to sell my house, I didn't want anything more than the basic service. They were friendly and did not try to sell me anything more than what I wanted. On the day of installation, they arrived on time, removed the old furnace and installed all required parts, and hardware. When it came time to test the new equipment, they noticed I had an old thermostat and asked me if I wanted a new one, even though they pointed out to me that the old one was adequate. A new one was a digital model and looked nicer than my old one. Since the price was OK, I decided to get the new one. They removed all old equipment and cleaned up after themselves very well. I was very satisfied with their work.

The estimator, Max, took a fairly quick look at my house before writing the estimate, but it was similar to the ones other companies that spent more time at it had given me. They didn't have a clear process for scheduling the installation -- Max said to call the office, but the office told me to call Max. Once scheduled, the installation crew showed up on time, and did the job in about 6 hours. They managed to work around some landscaping that I was afraid was going to need to be removed for access during installation. The heat has a bit of an oily smell to it now, which they said was due to oil on the evaporator, which is supposed to eventually go away.

All appointments (initial estimate, contract signing, and installation) were very prompt. Max explained exactly what would be done, when, and how much everything would cost. The installation crew of Walter and Adam was quite professional and courteous. They did an excellent job installing all equipment and left the house cleaner than when they arrived. They even ran an extra wire (at my request) with no questions asked. Plus, the quote provided by Fire & Ice was THOUSANDS less than two other companies (both of which are highly regarded on Angie's List). In addition to their already low quote, Fire & Ice also gave me a 5% Angie's List discount. This resulted in an additional savings of $450.

They arrived after the set up window, they did call but still very inconvenient. They installed the part before telling me what was wrong and about how much it would cost. They charged a service charge on top of cost of repairs, where other Angies List contractors do not charge both. No estimate given, prior to work beginning.

Very well. The one downfall was that the techs hands were dirty and he placed the ceiling tile back in place with prints all over it. A little clean up later restored it to near original condition.

I am very happy with the project. Excellent service. Everyone I dealt with was prompt and courteous. I would recommend Fire and Ice.

I've contacted Fire & Ice after reviewing the comments on Angie's List. A sales rep arrived within two days and explained the various options. Once we made our decision, the installation crew arrived on time on the day specified. They used drop cloth, explained the various installation steps, were very friendly and considerate in keeping the mess to a minimum. The installation turned out to be more complex than anticipated and it took 5 days instead of 3.

They arrived within the agreed upon time frame and the work was performed to my satisfaction.

Both installers were courteous and hard working and cleaned up very well after themselves.

The AC is at a rental so I wasn't there when the service person was. He was very good about calling me and explaining everything over the phone. He also took time with the tenants to give them tips on improving the efficiency of the AC. He did everything he said he would and the AC is still running fine two months later.

Overall we were very pleased with the service we obtained and will use Fire and Ice for our future heating and air conditioning needs.

1. They provided clear alternatives to me. Then they located a new, relatively rare, compressor unit. 2. The technician, Chris, really was well trained and did a through installation. I was impressed by his rigorous testing and double-checking.

Unbelievably smooth experience from start to finish. Because I had an impossibly tight timeline in which to get the work done, Fire & Ice sent their estimator out same day. He gave me very straight and honest recommendations regarding my cooling options, based on the research I had already done. He did not want to sell me something that wouldn't be efficient in the type of home I have. Because of his honesty and very competitive pricing, I hired them. Again, because of the deadline I had to get the A/C installed, they scheduled the work to start exactly when I wanted it. The technicians were on time, knowledgeable, worked efficiently, and were extremely considerate. They used drop cloths coming in and out of the house to leave as little dirt as possible. I am thrilled with their work and would recommend Fire & Ice without hesitation. The inspection went off without a hitch, and I would do this all over again in a heartbeat.

Scott was scheduled to be at our home between the hours of 12 P.M. and 2 P.M. He did not arrive until 3:45 p.m. No phone call was made to me. He apologized and stated that he was working on a big job that was important to his company. I took that to mean that my job was relatively unimportant to his company. Once here, he did know what he was doing and found the problem quickly and fixed it so the furnace worked.

THEY DO AN EXCELLENT JOB IN REPAIRS AND ARE ALWAYS ON TIME. THEY KEEP COMPANY RECORDS OF MY SERVICE CALLS SO THEY ARE ALWAYS PREPARED WHEN THEY ARRIVE TO DO THE WORK.

TECH BRIAN CHECKED-OUT A ROOF-TOP A/C AND FOUND THE CONDENSATE DRAIN HAD NOT BEEN INSTALLED PROPERLY AND, IN FACT, THE OUTPUT DRAIN FITTING WAS BROKEN. BRIAN WAS ABLE TO REPAIR THE BROKEN FITTING AND INSTALLED A DRAIN PIPE THAT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. BRIAN ALSO CHARGED THE UNIT WITH COOLANT. THE COST SEEMS REASONABLE FOR THE TIME AND EFFORT REQUIRED.

THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED AT SCHEDULED TIME. WAS POLITE AND QUITE KNOWLEDGEABLE. CHECKED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF FAILURE. REPLACED FAILED PART. SYSTEM WORKING QUITE WELL. WOULD DEFINITELY USE AGAIN.

LUIS WAS NICE, PROFESSIONAL, AND SMILED AS THOUGH HE TRULY ENJOYED HIS WORK. IT MADE THE MONEY I SPENT SEEM WORTH IT. I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY BEFORE AND THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM IN MY PREVIOUS HOME ON THE FIRST VISIT.

BOTH ESTIMATOR AND INSTALLERS WERE PROMPT AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. WORK STARTED ON SCHEDULE AND WENT FASTER THAN PLANNED. PRICE WAS VERY COMPETITIVE. DUCTS WERE WELL LAID OUT IN EACH ROOM. OPERATION OF THE THERMOSTAT WAS CLEARLY EXPLAINED TO US. IF YOU USE THEM, WATCH OUT FOR DEBRIS, ETC. FOR EXAMPLE, I HAD TO REMIND THE INSTALLERS TO NOT DAMAGE FRESHLY PAINTED WALLS. AFTER THEY WERE COMPLETED, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT OBTAIN A BUILDING PERMIT (BUT I DO NOT KNOW IF A PERMIT WAS REQUIRED). REGARDLESS, THEY CLEARLY KNOW THE TECHNOLOGY! I PLAN TO USE THEM AGAIN FOR OTHER WORK.

THEY WERE REAL BUSY SO IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET A SALES PERSON INTO OUR HOUSE. HOWEVER, ONCE THAT HAPPENED THE WORK WAS SCHEDULED, AND EVERYTHING HAPPENED QUICKLY. WORKMANSHIP WAS EXCELLENT. FOLLOW UP WAS EXCELLENT.

THE WORKERS WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY CAME OUT THE SAME DAY THAT I CALLED AND HAD IT FIXED WITHIN AN HOUR. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE THEN.
