Very well. Arrived on time, surrounding areas were draped, and no residue was left behind. I received a detailed explanation of the service performed along with the reasons for additional repairs needed. Vendor answered all questions readily and was very knowledgeable.
Description of Work: Fireplace cleaning, safety inspection, and replacement of logs and gas assembly in our unit. Replacement of chimney caps for all 4 units in the complex was recommended and is in process.

Inspection was OK and I'm also OK with the recommendation to repair the chimney crown. I just feel I'm being gouged on the cost of this particular repair.
Description of Work: Hired for a chimney inspection and to see if ours needed sweeping. They inspected chimney, no sweep necessary, but wrote up an $800 repair estimate stating that the chimney crown was cracking and lifting from the chimney structure & needs repair to keep moisture our of structure of chimney. I am no chimney expert but I watched a ton of youtube videos (to find out exactly what the chimney crown was and how to repair) and then climbed up to inspect the crown myself. Photos attached. My crown seems to be in very good condition with the exception of 1 relatively small crack where the crown material rolls up against the clay flue. In my humble opinion the repair estimate is exorbitant for the minor nature of the required repair work. Again, after watching the videos I can easily accomplish this myself in less than 1 hr. Here is an example repairing an entire crown, which I would probably do just to have the whole thing done again. [*** Link removed ***] I was OK with the inspection work they did, just a bit appalled at the estimate for recommended work. So to summarize, my poor rating has to do with the cost estimate of what I deem to be an easy repair.

Chimney Sweeps employees are very professional, prompt and clearly explained the work they recommended in order to correct a potentially unsafe defect with our chimney installation. The work was expensive, but I guess if you're interested in keeping your home from burning down, worth it. The person that came to do the original inspection took photos on the roof and explained what the issue was; then the part was ordered and subsequently installed. Scheduling was easy and the office sent helpful reminders. Hopefully we're done with chimney maintenance for a long time, but would definitely call Chimney Sweeps, Inc. in the future if necessary.
Description of Work: Moved to a new home and wanted the chimney inspected, as the sellers told me it had not been inspected in at least twelve years. It was determined the cap on the top of the chimney was incorrectly installed and needed to be replaced.

The seal is fine. The extensions took a few weeks. My mother hated the looks from the start. They were the color of the house, not the roof. Instead of one, there were two stacked on top of the chimney with the cap, being a different shape, placed on top. Looked pretty weird. It took 3 calls to get them to come back. I know they were busy, but my mother was having a fit every time she saw it. They suggested to try to adjust the job. They took off one and painted it gray like the roof. It's not AS noticeable. It took my mother a couple weeks to notice, and I thought I was home free. Unfortunately, she realizes it's still up there. I may have to call them back to take it off completely. I only have photo of first.
Description of Work: Repaired seal on chimney. Also recommended flue extension to help it draw better. My fault for going against my mother's wishes, thinking she would like it.

Brian came out and cleaned the stack and inside of our wood burning stove. The service was excellent and he arrived right on time and finished quickly. The quality and friendliness of the people that I spoke to on the phone was great as well. I will start using them on a yearly basis to keep things clean. The inspection of the fireplace showed that it did not need to be cleaned.

The office staff was fantastic, managing to get me on their schedule during the busy week of Christmas, when everyone else wants to prepare their chimney for a nice Yuletide blaze. Leo arrived on-time, with top hat in place (very UK!) and it was pouring outside. He inspected the chimney top, side and bottom. Performed the necessary mortar repairs quickly, doing more than he needed to, and even offered expert advice about gas upgrades. Clean, quick, professional. What more could you want? Very recommended!

The service was quick and easy. the two gentleman were curtious and professional. They kept the mess to a minimum and cleaned up before they left.
