I asked a Chimney Sweeps rep, when he called to try to schedule an inspection visit in 2016: how it was possible for our fireplace sets to go from "OK, no serious problems; you just might want to consider replacing the hearth kits" to "unsafe to use under any circumstances" in just 20 months when we almost never used either fireplace? The rep had no response, other than that "if the tech said so, it must be so." I said I wasn't interested in Chimney Sweep's "services" any more. Besides the obvious, I thought their prices for "parts" were very high. We used one of our fireplaces pretty extensively last winter, so I had our fireplaces inspected by another company on 19 Sep 2017. Our fireplace sets are both "in good condition," with no "cracks" anywhere to be seen. Perfectly fine to be used at any time

I thought the price was too high but the Work quality was excellent.

It went well. They found something wrong that cost a little more. I believe them it was an issue, they showed me pictures. That turned into $1500. I was like wow, that is a big difference. It just seemed expensive to me. I am not fully qualified. I didn't get any bids. They were really prompt, nice, and showed me pictures. They got it done quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. That was good for contractors. There were two workers. They were there for four hours. I hope I don't have to use them again.

Made an appointment several weeks out, but they were able to come earlier and called to arrange. They did a very neat, clean professional job warning us of potential problems.

The work was done on time. Everything was fully explained and the pluses and minuses of different steps were discussed. There was no mess. We don't use the fireplace very often but it is very reassuring to know that, when we do, it is safe as well as functional.

Brought sand, not rocks, minimal sparkles, used the old existing product under the logs. The sand is messy, not easy to control, and I wanted all the old materials removed -- looks like loose dirty insulation material. If I vacuum, the sand is going to be sucked up into the vacuum bag. I note that their deal is now $79. instead of the $99. that I paid. That seems more reasonable to me. What I paid was the absolute maximum I would pay, never the "full price", but I did not get what I asked them to do when I originally called, I would try somewhere else and make sure it was done as ordered, but it will probably be a while before that happens.

Chiimney Sweeps Inc was not hired for the job

Chimney Sweeps sent two members out to inspect and evaluate both fire places, both chimneys, and the roof. They video taped the inspection and played it back during our consultation. After quoting the cost of repairs and cleaning they proceeded to repair the crown, cracks, fireplace gas lines, and flutes, and cleaned inside and out of both fireplaces using a drop cloth to keep the floor tile clean. They were courteous, and professional. I will be using them for future inspections and cleanings.

This company has a true Chimney Sweep craftsman! Very professional. Our chimney and fireplace hadn't been maintained for many years so we ended up purchasing new gas logs and had some repair done to the chimney itself. We were very satisfied with the work, product selection, and price.

The company rep was polite and I appreciated the educational information. But the prices I was quoted for replacing my chimney chase cover and termination cap (aka spark arrestor) were twice what I ended up paying with another professional company. Their price for coming to the site, analyzing the situation, and the price for a chimney cleaning were less than their competitor, but their business model seems to be to pull people in with lower up-front costs and then make their money off of higher mark-ups on the more expensive repairs/replacements.

Good, my chimney is as good as new.
