The gentleman was very friendly and professional. He gave us a laundry list of things that needed to be done to repair our chimney and suggested that we call our homeowner's insurance folks to get it done when we balked at the cost he quoted us. I filed a homeowner's insurance claim, and they sent an adjuster out. I gave the adjuster the list given to us by Chimney Sweeps, so the adjuster took a look at all of those things and took photos. Several of the items given on the list from Chimney Sweeps were not there. I was surprised, but it seems to me like Chimney Sweeps Inc. were just trying to drum up some business for themselves. Overall, they did a great job getting us scheduled, and the gentleman they sent out was great, but I'd take what they say with a salt shaker of salt.

He charged me for filling cracks, for the paint and for small new hatch on the outside of the chimney. Gave me 10% off the paint and did not deduct anything form the service I paid Angie for.

Arrived on time and ready to get to work. Checked stove condition then went up on roof to examine both chimneys and cleaned one chimney. Did through cleaning and made no mess anywhere and cleaned up area after vacuuming woodstove. Provided excellent feedback about issue we have and left brochure about the problem. Also discussed how to repair to bring all up to code and be safe. Very knowledgeable with great ideas and recommendations.

Very efficient as had the chimney thoroughly cleaned within an hour and a half. The crew was very polite and cleaned up their work area nicely. We were given estimates to replace the cap, fix the top border of the chimney, and waterproof one of our chimneys. The estimates topped $2,500 so we decided to do some research first. Chimney Sweeps took pictures so that we could see the cracks and were very nice when we declined the additional services. We will have to see if the costs were warranted so gave them a B rating in price for now. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

Chimney Sweep arrived on time, spent approximately 1 hour 45 minutes on project. I have two fireplaces, one chimney. Inspection was done, no cleaning necessary. Repaired crown, placed to chimney caps, placed fireback on one side of fireplace and treated with water repelent. I am not sure if these charges were within normal range. I would like to know if this was a reasonable charge for the work completed. The stainless steel caps lifetime warranty, crown repair 10 year warranty, water repelent 10 year warranty and heat reflector 5 year warranty. Regarding ratings, I am not familiar enough to know if the price was reasonable, I hope so., quality I assume was good, but I have no experience with any of these items.

We bought the $79 coupon. Steve recommended we get a chimney cap which he could install then and there, so we went ahead with the installation. The price we paid for the stainless steel chimney cap with spark arrestor was $413. We since learned you can buy the same kind for less than half that amount, so that's the reason for the D grade for pricing. Lesson learned to research before you buy. He also gave us a price quote for repairing six valve seals on the roof for $1,029 for approx 1 1/2 - 2 hours of work which we also thought way too expensive so we didn't proceed. Steve was pleasant and professional and otherwise provided good service.

My chimney had not been cleaned or inspected for approx. 10 years. I had been experiencing some smoke in the house when the fireplace was being used during the winter months. The guys who came out were great, very professional. They did quality work and gave us some recommendations pm other items that we should take care of in the near future, which we plan on doing with Chimney Sweeps. Highly recommend!

They provided prompt and professional service. Inspected, cleaned fireplace and made necessary repairs. A new damper along with a chimney cap were installed. The crown was also repaired. Steve provided a thorough explanation of issues and how to correct them and provided a written estimate before proceeding. Great customer service before, during and after service call. Highly recommended!

On 7/14/15, chimney was measured and parts were ordered. I was informed that parts were not due to arrive until mid-August. Parts arrived late July and were installed on 7/27/15. The work was performed by Jacob Morgan, from Chimney Sweeps. He was 100% professional and extremely polite and pleasant. When I inquired about painting the cover, he said it would be white. I asked if it could be another color, which I had, and he agreed and used my paint. It was recommended that I get an ornamental owl to install on the chimney, I couldn't find a suitable one, but did find a large plastic hawk, which he installed. The installation went well, without any problems. Note, there is a "7 year rust-through warranty on parts" which was not noted on the invoice. I phoned the office and received it in writing via e-mail. The office staff were efficient and delightful to deal with. My only concern is the cost, as noted by others on Angie's List. Even with my 10% Angie's List discount, I found the price of this work exceedingly exorbitant for parts, labor and service.

My negative rating of this service provider is due to the fact that their pricing was exorbitant (3 times more than the other company) for replacing most parts of the metal parts on the top of the chimney. In addition, they told me my chimney needed a cleaning when the other company said I didn't.

That worked out right. I wasn’t there for the transaction. I’m working on a second hand information. I think they were prompt and they did everything they said they were going to do. I didn’t interact with them over the phone either but I didn’t hear anything negative. The work turned out fine. The price was in the ballpark.

They were fine. I just paid the $79 big deal. They found some other things they said needed some work but I looked at it and I don’t have that kind of money. I have nothing in particular to say about this company.

It took about three hours to complete the job. I suspect that no one had maintained the chimney for 34 years. We were distressed that the cost was so high. But it was better than having your chimney crumble to pieces. The Chimney Sweeps were polite, knowledgeable, and cleaned up, like the never were here.

They contacted us in 2014 about 10 months after the job and asked if we wanted them to come back. We said no and that we would like them not to call us, we would call them if wanted further service. They were polite and said that they would not call us. Several months later they called again. I spoke to someone at the company and reiterated we did not want to be called. I was promised that they would not call. The same thing happened again about 6 months later. Finally we ignored their repeated calls when we saw their name on the phone. The company, with the name Chimney Sweeps (619-631-0275) called again the week of 6/15. I told them that if they call again I would report them which I have done. They called again today 6/22 and I spoke to someone who said their name was Gary Sills, allegedly the supervisor of the phone solicitors for Chimney Sweeps. I told him that I was filing a complaint. He claimed they only called me once in 10 months. I told him the phone ID reads Chimney Sweeps with the same phone number. All I would say is that if you do not want to be harassed keep away from this company.

Purchased an Angie's List deal for a chimney sweep and inspection. This company was very responsive and easy to communicate with. They arrived on time on the day of service. The serviceman noted items that needed to be repaired and performed the work on the spot. I feel like for the time and materials it was a little more expensive than I would have preferred, but they did excellent work.

The company had good communication throughout the process. They called ahead of time and verified apt. The techs were a little late on the day of the apt but they did call and let us know so it was ok. They did also inspect our chimney and reported various issues we need to fix. They offered to fix but it wasn't a hard sell.

These fine gentlemen did a wonderful job! While the chimneys and fireplaces were not part of the original chimney sweep purchase, after a thorough inspection Steven recommended resealing and treating the chimneys for both of our fireplaces. Steven informed us that he had serviced our chimneys and fireplaces quite a few years ago (when home was owned by a couple of previous owners back). We felt very secure and comfortable with Steven's assessments and recommendations. We are extremely pleased with the results and have found our permanent chimney sweep and inspection service. Definitely well worth the money! Thanks Chimney Sweeps!!

Their actual work seemed fine - though were trying to up-sell additional work. The real issue we have with them is that since our work has been complete, this group continues to call us for more work and they are very pushy and persistent. They call at inopportune times and then have been pushy and and don't take "not now. we'll call you back when we need your help again in the future" for an answer. They are frankly bordering on being creepy. We've never experienced something like this from another Angie's list vendor, having used many for a variety of services. Others must have similar experiences,and i think you owe it to other Angie's List viewers to write about your own experiences. I'm sure that there are other chimney sweep companies in the area who will conduct their business (and especially post-business) in a much more reasonable way.

It was excellent and helpful. The company provided us information about several safety issues, which we intend to have fixed. The entire job was one of the best experiences we've ever had with a service oriented company. I can't say enough about how professional and efficient they were. I have a quote to do the work that needs done and will call them when I'm ready to take care of it. Please know, Angie's List has been a real money saver, and you never need worry about how the company will perform. I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone. Chimney and fireplace are spotless.

Even though there were minor issues. I'm pleased with the company. I think the additional services that they offered me were a little high priced.
