We did a full kitchen remodel which included new cabinets, countertops and flooring. I priced out several box store home improvement cabinet companies and I also met with an independent kitchen design retailer. The pricing and quality ranged from basic to mid-range. During this process we realized we had under budgeted and that we needed to increase the cabinet budget quite a bit. Although I thought going the custom route would be out of our range I decided to meet with a few custom cabinet makers. I had left a message with a company who ended up not being in business any longer. Luckily they passed on my phone number to Barry of Beeco Woodworks. I received a call from Barry about two days after leaving the original message. We set up an appointment to meet the next day. When Barry came over we discussed all of my wants and needs for my kitchen. This included all the bells and whistles. During our meeting Barry showed me the Kitchen and Bath Magazine that he was just featured in. It showed a beautiful kitchen in Coronado, a dream kitchen! This was a wonderful recognition of his work. We received our quote a few days later and it was a lot more then what we had rebudgeted for. I called Barry to see about reworking the design and a few days later we received the new quote. In the new quote he took out end panels and changed two drawer banks to pullout cabinets but just those changes dropped the quote into our range. Both quotes included installation which was something that was not included in the other company quotes we received. There were a few design features that Barry's design offered which I would not be able to get with the Home Improvement stores. I have a soffit in the kitchen that we would not be removing. Barry designed the cabinet that goes above the fridge to be L shaped which would wrap the soffit. This provided for a deep vertical slotted storage (cookie sheets, wine bottles etc.) as well as a horizontal shelf. He also designed a very deep sink cabinet (a foot+ deeper then the typical) because the area allowed for it. This was a big deal because we wanted to have an instant cold/hot water filter system which takes up a lot of room. Another design feature that I wanted and was able to get with Barry's design was to have the top drawer's flat while the two bottom drawers had the shaker style. His quote also included the sub top for the countertops which was not included else where. We also wanted to have a table attached to the island and this was something we could have custom made with Barry. It was several of these details that helped us choose Barry. We also liked the fact that the person making the cabinets would also be the one to measure and install. When it was time for Barry to install he was full of professionalism and skill. He came in with his helper Robert and they set to work. It was nice to see the time and care they took in the installation. These were not just slapped up on the walls. He installed everything plumb and level. When they were done for the day they cleaned up not leaving a trace. The installation took about 5 days to complete. Towards the end of the installation I had some concerns with the spacing between the area that would house the stove. Most stoves are slightly less then there posted size, so a stove that says it is 30" is actually slightly less. When I was able to access my stove it measured exactly 36". I shared my concern with Barry and he agreed the space needed to be adjusted. They moved one of the cabinets over to allow for the added space. This added a little bit to their work but they had no [ problem or complaint in doing it. They also installed the drawer hardware, glass shelves and glass in the display cabinet. The table was installed a few weeks later and it is BEAUTIFUL!! It is a mahogany butcher block table top with a beautiful designed edge. This is one of my favorite features in the kitchen. The table was oiled vs. stained which turned out so beautiful and warm. It was a few weeks after the kitchen was completed that we decided to also have a custom built entertainment center added to the family room (shared with the kitchen). This also turned out beautifully. I can't even fully express how happy both my husband and I are with our kitchen cabinets, table, and entertainment center. We had a few issues during the construction phase but never with Barry. My husband and I both kept saying we wished everyone we work with were like Barry. He takes pride in his work and with good reason. We did end up spending more then we anticipated but it was well worth it and not once have we regretted it. I look at his work and can't help but smile each time. I highly recommend Beeco Woodworks (Barry Beeman) for custom cabinet work, you will never regret choosing him!

As stated above, from beginning to end the work was first class, professional and perfect quality.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen custom cabinet work. Barry at BEECO met with us to obtain detailed information and measurements for what we wanted done. We were also doing a family room addition so Barry coordinated with or general contractor for the kitchen remodel so all the work was done with perfect timing. The cabinets we ordered were oak and Barry worked with us to test various color stains until we were content with a shade that matched the kitchen. Barry does the highest quality work I have ever seen in 40 years of my experience with custom cabinet work. I recommend Barry to my friends and will use him for any cabinet/ wood work in the future.
