I had to make all of the initial contact. I sent pictures of the repairs I am needing and when I didn't hear anything back, I called them. I then received an email stating the general manager said they wouldn't be able to make the repairs and gave pricing for replacing the solar panels and gave a referral for another company that could assist with the repairs.

The service went fine. The technicians did a nice job and were prompt. They did what they said they would when they said they would. They returned my calls quickly. 2-3 people came out to put the 12 solar panels on the roof. I had no issues contacting or scheduling with this company.

It was terrific. I have put off installing solar because of the expense and because I didn't want to do the research. When I did my research, I met with two A rated Angie's list companies and Revco. I wanted to meet with Revco because they have been in the solar business for something like 38 years. I like the idea of using a company with longevity when I make an expensive and long-lasting investment in my home. With a company like this, I know my warranty will mean something if I do have a problem someday. They are an Orange County based company that is trying to break into the SD solar market. I made arrangements for Revco representative Jim to visit me at my home and give his presentation. I instantly felt comfortable with Jim, who explained the product at that first meeting. He kept the presentation short and sweet and answered all my questions. Another company I met with just wanted to go through their protocol and wouldn't stop talking. I took two months to make my final decision because Revco was just the first company I met with. Jim answered my many questions over those months and never pressured me for a sale. Revco was the only company we talked to that did both electrical solar and pool heating solar. I like the ease and convenience of that. Jim gave me an extra discount for using them for both installs, too. Everything Jim promised -he delivered on. The cost was much less than what I expected. With the 30% refund from the government, the low interest loan they arranged for me through Enerbank was only $144 a month- that is less than my SDGE bill! It did require a $1000 down payment, but over the course of the loan, it saves a ton. I looked into a leased solar system with another vendor. It was $0 down, but over the 20 year lease, the total cost of the system was double and you don't own it in the end. Costs vary obviously on the size of the system and the panels you choose. The installers were highly skilled, professional and very polite. They did practically all the work outside the house and I was not asked to take time off from my job. I did have to be at home once so they could install one related fixture in my house and meet with the SDGE inspector (since he had to enter my garage), but they set the appointment up at my convenience. I highly recommend them. Glad I did my homework and I am glad I chose Revco.

Jim was amazing and prompt when it came to answering my many, many questions. I chose to use Revco and didn't fill in quality yet b/c the system hasn't been installed yet. I feel that if the system performs as well as the customer service at this stage, we will be very happy. I will update this review when the system is complete.

They were excellent. I found them online and I sent them an e-mail because I needed a quote. They got back to me within in a few hours and then they were out within two days to look and give me the estimate. It was very reasonable and then within the next 7 days they installed and it is working perfectly. They are really good and very professional. I expected it be around $8000 and it ended up being about $5300. They did give discount for certain things. The equipment I had was perfect so they discounted several things. Then if you pay by cash they give you a further discount. I am extremely happy. It was so easy. I would recommend them.

The estimator was on time and very informative. He fully explained how the system would work and how best to finance it, including how the state rebate program worked. He checked my electric bills for the past couple of years, figured out how many panels would be necessary to zero-out my electrical bills, and took measurements of the roof and determined what support would be required to attach panels at the correct angle to maximize their potential. All was done very professionally and a contract was signed. The next day he called to arrange a day for the crew to come out to install it & they pulled a permit from the city. A week later the crew came out and did a professional job installing the racks for the panels, the panels, and the inverter, then connected them up and tied into the electrical meter on the house. I was then shown how the inverter worked and what the meter readings on it meant. They finished the installation within about 4-5 hours; cleaned up & hauled away any refuse created, and provided me with the manuals for both the panels and the inverter. I was very satisfied with the job they did although a week later the inverter failed & I had to have them come out to troubleshoot it. They came out promptly the next day; determined the inverter was defective; then ordered & installed a new one within the week. Since then I have not had any trouble with any of it.
Description of Work: First came out to my residence to measure & estimate my electrical requirements and the placement & support for solar panels & gave me an estimate to do the job & discuss means of payment. A week later the crew came out & provided & installed 14 solar panels on south-facing roof of my residence along with the required String Inverter for Grid Connection and tied in with the electrical grid.

Over all very well. At first we thought and hoped that all we had was a reparable leak in one of the panels. Unfortunately, it had to be replaced. Eric quoted the job and we discussed replacing the second panel at the same time. The price was fair and they offered a special discount be cause we used Angie's List. The work was scheduled. They showed up on time and did a very professional job. I would recommend Revco Solar looking solar panel work. Everyone from the office staff to Eric and his crew were very professional and helpful with our project.

We got an estimate of over $4000 to replace 5 panels. We called Revco Solar for an additional estimate. The representative set an appointment, arrived on time and examined the pool and the system. He recommended that we replace the panels, but based on our pool size and our usage of it, said that 4 panels would be sufficient to meet our needs. The estimate was much lower than the first one we received. Revco Solar uses Fafco panels and the panels that were to be replaced were also Fafco. We were very satisfied with those panels, so we signed a contract for replacement. We had a phone call within an hour after he left, from Revco. and set the installation for one week later. The installers arrived on time and were very courteous and efficient. They explained what they were going to do and proceeded with the installation. The job was completed in a few hours and was done very professionally. We are pleased with the job and would gladly use them for any other problems we might have.

Aside from not taking responsibility for repairing the leak it went well.
Description of Work: Installed about 8 Solar panels to heat swimming pool water. The reason for the poor quality rating is that 13 months after the install the system failed when one of the panels started to leak. When I called the company they were responsive and came out to fix the problem within a week but they charged me a fee for the repair. They did give me a small discount but I really felt cheated to be charged for a leak repair when I had only used the system for about 6 of the 13 months. The system however has since worked well.

There was an internal misunderstanding about the design of the system which led to an aesthetically poor installation. However, the company responded to my complaint and tore out the system; then replaced it the way we had intended. In the end it was a good system.

Description of Work: We had an estimate for solar panels, and the representative was forthright and informative in explaining everything that would be involved. It turned out that the way our roof is situated meant we would not be able to save much, and when he got back to us with the quote, he was honest about it, saying our bill would go from about $190 to about $130. We just decided there are other things we need to spend money on first and we may check again in the future. The only thing negative I would say is that it took them over three weeks to get back to us, and that was only after we called them.

Thank you for the honest review and I apologize that it took us so long to get back to you about your estimate. I am trying to find the sales rep that was out at your home, so that I can pass your feed back onto them so that we avoid this type of thing happening in the future. Do you remember what Revco Sales rep was out at your home?

This company is very busy, but they have the personnel, knowledge and equipment to get the job done effectively. First, I met Mike while he was marketing in the neighborhood. He worked up an estimate and took a downpayment of $1000 to get us in line for the City of Anaheim rebates. He was able to get us early on the list since we were purchasing the system rather than a lease or any other options. After the rebate was granted, the plans were approved by the homeowner's group and the equipment was ordered at which time we paid about $31,000. The equipment arrived in a large "pod" type box which was delivered to our driveway. The crews installed the equipment in stages over the next few months, had the city inspector scheduled and the system was turned on for use at the very end of May. We then paid $6,000 about the time the rebate came in from the city. The cleanup was good and little disruption was made to our daily routines.
Description of Work: About $32,000 upfront, about $6,000 minus about $20,000 rebate from the City of Anaheim and $8,000 rebate from the federal government incentive left us with about $10,000 out of pocket. This bought us a system that took us from an average of about $1,200 bill every two month ($600/month) to monthly bill of about $100/month. This is a very nicely installed set of panels and electronics boxes with two meters. We chose net metering which subtracts production from use. We are able to monitor real-time production on our computers and iPhones. Very nice, clean setup.

Description of Work: These guys are great The owner is a laid back easy man to talk to but very knowledgeable and professional. All the appropriate paperwork was filed and set up for me and he respected my budget, not trying to talk me into more than I told him I could afford at the time. The only issue was the messy stucco the guys who installed the meter system on the side of the house. All white and plastery against taupe color but I DID NOT CALL Jim back to have it fixed - I am sure he went have sent someone out to rectify it.

Pool heater went swimmingly, but photo-voltaic panels were back-ordered. Rep said he'd let us know when they were available. We had signed a contract and made a $1000 down-payment, but they didn't contact us for over a year. Sure, we should have kept chasing them, but there were complications with the city about where the panels could be located. The technician we originally dealt with left. The panels we ordered were no longer manufactured: new contract. The work was well done, but the second technician has left, too. Who knows what your experience will be.
