PRESTIGE CARPETS

It was about the weirdest shopping experience we've ever had. We went to their showroom one evening, about 30 minutes before their closing time. We talked to a saleswoman. We had a picture of a carpet we liked from Home Depot, and wanted to know if they had anything similar. After looking at a few samples, the saleswoman said she was going to go look for comparable carpet and check pricing. She walked away. My wife and I wandered the store, waiting for her to come back. And wandered. After a while, the only other person in the store, a man, came by and asked if we needed help. We said no. After all, the other salesperson was helping us. Finally, at about their closing time, we asked the man where our saleswoman was. He explained that he had sent her home about 20 minutes earlier. That was it. We wasted about half an hour waiting for information from a person who had left for the day. I have no idea what the mixup was, but the man (who was the manager) was not apologetic at all for the misunderstanding. We won't be going back.

This was our second time using Prestige Carpets. Our first experience was 3 years, we needed caret and hardwood installed quickly and they were able to turn our project around within days. We were extremely pleased with the work back in ?07 and decided we would use them again for a carpet install on the secondary story of our new home. We would have used them for our hardwood downstairs but we obtained the material at cost from a family friend and Prestige will only install product they supply. We are extremely pleased with the carpet install which included a winding staircase. There were several tricky entry ways to our bathrooms as the tile sits over 1 inch above the floor boards due to some builder quirks. The installers were able to gently slope the approach so that it is barely noticeable. The measurement appointment was on time and handled quickly. The installers were extremely professional and cleaned up all the little tidings without being asked. I feel the pricing was good for the work and carpet, Karastan's Ledesma product, we had installed. While I hope that we do not have another home improvement project for some time we will certainly use Prestige again if the time comes.

THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS GOOD. THE PRICE COULD ALWAYS BE LESS. AS FAR AS THE INDIVIDUALS, I DON'T KNOW. THE PEOPLE WHO WORKED THERE WERE OK, THEY DID THEIR JOB.
