They came back yesterday to finish something because I saw my ceiling still wet. I have to double check to see if he did do what he said he was going to do. I have to check in on him on that. He said he would be back, I told him I would be out, & he said I would need to be home. So I need to call to see if he did it. My ceiling was leaking on the inside from the heavy rain. So something triggered it off. I had filed a claim with the insurance company and they came out and said there was no problem, my roof was in pretty good condition & they do not cover this. I had a leak, it wasn't tremendous, but my seams were showing in my ceiling and the leak was coming through like an eye drop. It was consistent because it rained for so long. I had him come out for that. They fixed it. They told me insurance company would not cover it because they didn't see any wind-blown shingles & they don't see any problems. I called the roofer so they went around looking at the roof and they gave me basic maintenance and tagging certain areas as probable. So they took care of those areas. They said the best they could do was that, so they really went around looking for those probably areas, like the pipe that sticks out and making sure it's caulked and anything that looked like it might be a little loose. I did have a little issue with him getting back to me due to the enormity of calls. I had to keep calling. When they came out they said this is convenient to us and we apologize, but they had so many people they needed to get ahold of. They came out of the blue straight to my house to fix it. I said I wasn't going to be here and they looked around and started fixing it immediately. They came over and they fixed immediately. That was good, but they didn't call and tell me they were coming. They just showed up and I happened to be home. They were very nice, but they were very attentive. They don't take credit cards. I didn't know that. I didn't know that they didn't take credit cards. So when they came for payment, which they showed up again, and they gave me a bill that they did send to me by email, but I had to tag something else on there so they added it on there but it wasn't on the invoice. When they came, I got ready to give them my card and they said they don't take credit cards. I told them to give me 10 days. I sent him a text with a contract to give me 10 days, but in the future please let people know that you don't do credit cards. I did pay them in 10 days and I thanked them for that. I would give them a B+ and it's only because they failed to tell me they didn't take credit cards. At the same time they cleaned it up by allowing me those 10 days without going off. They were very kind about it. They said they thought they told me. Even in their email that they sent with the invoice setting it up it wasn't even on there. It didn't say pro or con, that they did not or they do. So I automatically assumed. I think they are fairly priced. I'm no familiar with the pricing. I think the quality is pretty good. They didn't leave any dirt around. Being that they were so busy they weren't as responsive, I had to keep calling, but once I got ahold of them they were apologetic and they came right over and they gave me the time. When they showed, they showed up. Most of the time they arrived on the early side of the time frame given. They are very professional. I have booked them for next year, as far as maintenance is concerned, to have them every year in March to come back and look at the house to check it. So I put them on a basic maintenance plan. If there is any repair to be done or maintenance to be done if anything is wrong they'll take care of it and charge you from there. They're pretty reasonable.

Inspection and Quote: Doug came out for the inspection. He was the only contractor who actually inspected under the under layer, in which revealed i had 3 layers. His honesty was what won our business. The quote was emailed promptly. Removal and installation: Their roof removal team worked quick. They were literally on my roof and off in 2hrs. I had some wood planks and fascia boards that needed replacement, they took care of that without any issues. Shingles and vents were installed without problems. I am happy with my new roof. They did a great job!

Description of Work: Removed the concrete tiles on one half of the house and replaced the under laying paper with 60# felt. Repaired minor problems, replaced bad tiles, and redid the flashings around the vents and chimney. they did exactly what was contracted for at the agreed upon price. Good cleanup after. I had used them before to do the other half of the roof about 2 years ago and recommended them to a neighbor who was also very pleased with their work.

The tenant in my rental house called and said there was a water leak near the fireplace Chimney. I called D&G and asked for an estimate. Guy came out and gave me an estimate the same day I called. He said a small area of the roof around the chimney needed to be replaced. The estimate was reasonable compared to other contractors I contacted. I authorized him to perform the work. He was there the next day. He removed about 200 SF of of roof tiles, found the leaking areas, repaired the area and then replaced all the concrete roof tiles. Afterward he and his crew cleaned up the entire area so that I could not even tell they were there. The work was completed in a very professional manner and I would recommend D&G Roofing in the future.

Our home was in escrow and the buyers hired an inspector to inspect the house. One slipped tile and one cracked tile were identified by the inspector. I called the company who installed the roof to see if they would fix the two tiles. I had many roof tiles left over from the installation. At first they told me it would be no charge. The man they sent out told me different and sent an email saying it would cost me$500. I thought it was outrageous do called a local roofer, Dand G. The owner was awesome. He came right out on the way home from a large job with two experienced crew members. The inspected the entire roof and replaced 20 tiles. They even cut some down to size. They had great attitudes and did all the work for $225. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

The person who came to give me an estimate was very friendly. However, he didn't follow-through with his written estimate. He came on the Thursday and said he would e-mail me the written estiamate the following Monday. I waited and had to call to remind him on Tuesday. He said he was busy with a job and would e-mail it to that night or the next day. I wait for another 5 days, nothing happened! It has been 12 days since his visit, and I still have not gotten his written estimate. I person sent me the written estimate the night my first review was submitted. Unbelieveable, the written estimate was twice as high as the verbal estimate. The verbal estimate was about $890. The written one he sent me was $1,700. plus. I guess, the person was mad at me reporting him. For this reason, I would rate this company a D and would never consider to do any business with this company. Note: no service was performed. I entered a work date just because the system would not allow me to save without a work date.

I really like this company. He called to schedule the appointment and he was on time. He wrote everything down in the estimate. He came when he said he would and finished when he said. I haven't had any problems and it rained right after that so I was able to check for leaks. They had the best price and I seemed to have a better rapport with them.

Have you ever tried to find a roofer to fix a water leak on a Friday, the day after Christmas? It isn't very easy. It rained on Christmas while we were entertaining family and water came into two second story rooms and then into the garage below. After reviewing Angie's list for Roofers in our immediate area on the next day, we were able to make some calls and soon got a return call from Guy at D and G Roofing Co. He heard our story and description of the roof area and suggested what was the probable cause and what would be needed to rectify the problem. He thought that the best course of action would be to have Doug come out for a free estimate, but that would have to wait until the next week. I had previously contacted a handyman-type person who was willing to come out for $400 to fix the leak on Saturday, but elected to wait, based on Guy's suggestion and apparent knowledgeable assessment, until my whole roof could be inspected since the forecast was for no rain over the weekend. We got a call from Doug on Monday who arranged to come by on Tuesday morning. He was right on time and inspected the roof and figured out where the leak was most likely since there weren't any missing or broken tiles in the area. Our insurance company had sent a roofer to inspect whether wind damage had caused the leak and he misdiagnosed the location of the leak as a lower roof problem instead of an upper roof problem. Doug also identified a number of broken tiles and areas that needed to be resecured with adhesive in addition to the shingle molding that needed to be replaced. He called us back with the price on the next morning (New Year's Eve) after we called since we were told that there was a chance that we could get the repair done on Friday. We agreed to the price and they agreed to repair the roof on Friday, Jan. 2nd. Company workers (no subcontractors) came early on Friday, a misty day, and started painting the new molding as soon as they got there. Doug came by to answer any questions while the two (and later 3) workers accomplished the removal and reinstallation of cement tiles. The lead worker let me know that it looked clear that they had identified an area where the underlayment was bad and was the probable source of our leak. They finished the job, including the installation of the molding which matched the house color since they were willing to paint a second coat using paint that we had provided. They repaired the other tiles on the roof and cleaned up the area very well and were gone around noon. We've just had a day of rain and we don't see any water leaks, so we're very satisfied with our experience with both Doug and Guy and their workers. I think we paid a good price (although we do not have much to compare with) and they invoiced us for payment. They treated us very well during a busy holiday season.
Description of Work: Removed 200 sq. ft. of cement tiles and the metal valley above a roof leak area, installed two layers of # 30 underlayment and then reinstalled the valley and the tiles. Inspected both roofs for broken and cracked tiles and replaced 6-7 tiles. Secured numerous loose and chipped tiles with adhesive. Replaced 15 feet of 1" x 4" shingle molding with new molding, painted to match the white house color.

First, The estimate was done in a timely manner and Guy (yes, it's his name, not slang) was personable and professional. He pointed out the issues and aesthetics that he would address. Vents and placements, roofing materials, etc. He advised that we should go to his suppliers material yard and see different grades, styles and colors of material. It was a very educational ordeal. The supplier gave us addresses of homes done with various colors and types of material we were interested in so we could actually see it in use rather than just a few pieces on a board. The Demo was like watching ants go to work. A team of 7. They were up there at 7:00 AM. It was so cool to watch. My stepson was in from Florida and we just stood outside watching for hours. They were extremely tidy and careful. They had demoed the roof and laid the plywood all in one day. These guys, for that matter all the workers, really worked hard! Day two, three, four and five went very well. Two brothers that have worked together for years did the shingles and metal work. I point out the fact that the two were so connected because to us, it implied a synergy and dynamic that allows them to work well together. A high pitched roof with several angles can be tricky. We were very comfortable with them and their work. Each day and at days end workers would clean the area. Other than looking at the roof and materials, you would not have known they were there or that work was being done. Extremely conscientious. In the end we were/are very happy with the quality and the process. There was no hounding for payment. Matter of fact I had to call a few days after they finished to say, "don't you want to get paid?" I would definitely call them again.
Description of Work: We have a 1500+ square foot, 1923 home with original shake roof covered with one layer of composition and in some places two layers, plus a flat roof addition. They replaced with a 40 year Grand Sequoia shingle. They laid roofing grade plywood, felt paper and shingles. We also had copper valleys installed in front as well as copper flashing around the chimney. We have a steep pitched roof line (Tudor-style home). They did a really nice job.

The estimator came at the appointed time to make the estimate. It was emailed to me the next day. The workman was prompt, polite, and professional. He actually came to the house the day before to see the site before showing up the next day with the materials. Therefore, he came prepared with the correct materials (took a sample of my rock to make sure he got the right color) and got the job done in a timely fashion. When the roof needs to be replaced in a few years, this company will get the job! This company knows its stuff!

In some aspects I was a little disappointed and some areas I think they did a good job. What drove me crazy was the first day they worked like beavers the second and third day they left at 9:30 with out any explanation the third day I called to have them come out and complete the work on the forth day Saturday they came and completed the repairs. As a whole they did a good job.

They were very honest. When the supplier dropped off the materials they realized that he brought thirty year shingles out. They told him to re-load them on the truck and bring out the forty years. Seriously, I would have never known the difference if they put the cheaper ones on. They also got it done and cleaned up in a few days. I love our new roof as we had bad leaks prior and were putting buckets all over the house when it rained.
