Description of Work: An entire office had to move to Las Vegas....in the heat! |And, the custom furniture had to be disassembled piece by piece and reassembled in Vegas. Punctual and always pleasant.

I'll try to keep this short...Roy will sweet talk you and get you so wrapped up in his "magic" that you will just stop asking questions, because if you do--you "start packing his truck for him". He's packed celebrities and you will feel like one by the end of his first visit. Here is the moving pitch we got: **No Mud in the home **Pack it all in 2 days **Mark all boxes with the room they go into--we will move them there **You will be sleeping in your beds the first night **No damages **Experienced Movers **Been doing this for 20 years. What we got? **Roy Micro Managed of the movers which resulted in SLOW Moving **Beds not setup for first night **Damaged Furniture **Movers expected FREE LUNCH (and we paid for it) **Missing tools and equipment to get Washer and Dryer installed **Mud tracked into the new home **Overtime charges out of line with understood quote and experience with other moves **Bill of $2100.00 for first day **Boxes in wrong rooms **Furniture they refused to move upstairs **20% of old home not moved at the end of this experience **I had to rent another truck to finish the job myself **Bill for $1200.00 for 2nd day...(with extreme management and oversight)

THESE CLIENTS WERE FINE WITH EVERYTHING IN THE BEGINNING. THE WIFE RUNS THIS SHOW AND THE HUSBAND WAS VERY WEAK (IE) WHEN HIS WIFE WAS NOT PRESENT, HE PRESENTED HIMSELF DIFFERENT, THIS CAUSED A LOT OF MISCOMMUNICATION ON THE MOVE. BOTTOM LINE, THESE CLIENTS WERE LOOKING FOR A QUALITY JOB AND WERE TRYING TO BRING UP ANY ISSUE(S) TO GET THE JOB DONE FOR LESS AND OR FREE! THEY WERE NOT FAIR AND THEY TRIED TO PLAY EACH OTHER AGAINST ME TO CONTINUE TO REDUCE THE OVERALL BILL. I VISITED THEIR HOME TWICE PRIOR TO THE MOVE AND BROUGHT THEM THE SUPPLIES PRIOR TO THE MOVE AS WELL, FOR NO CHARGE (2 HOURS OF LABOR/DRIVE TIME). THE DAY BEFORE THE MOVE WHEN I CAME TO TAKE A FINAL LOOK THE CLIENT AND I WALKED THE HOUSE AND POINTED OUT WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE TO BE READY. WOW! THIS IS WERE THE PROBLEM STARTED. THEY WERE NOT READY AND MY MOVING TEAM AND I HAD TO COME IN AND CONTINUE SOME PACKING. THEN THE CLIENTS STARTED THE "LIP SERVICE". AS A PROFESSIONAL, I TRIED TO LET THE COMMENTS GO AND CONTINUE TO PROVIDE THE QUALITY SERVICE I ALWAYS DO. THEN CAME THE ISSUE OF THE HUSBAND SAYING JUST PUT EVERYTHING IN THE GARAGE AND WE WILL MOVE IT TOMORROW IN THE HOUSE. WELL, THEN THE WIFE ARRIVED WITH THREE GIRLS (ALL UNDER 8 YRS)AND STARTED WITH MORE NEGATIVE "LIP SERVICE". I HAD TO ASK HER TO TALK WITH THE HUSBAND. WE DID WHAT HE ASKED US TO DO! THE BEDS WERE DONE FOR THE CHILDREN ROOMS, HOWEVER, THE ADULTS ROOM WAS NOT DONE BECAUSE THEY HAD NO CEILING LIGHTS AND THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY LAMPS. IT GETS DARK AND VERY BLACK IN THE AREA THEY MOVED TO. WE COULD NOT SEE IN THE ADULTS ROOM AND FOR SAFETY, I MADE THE "CALL" THAT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SET UP THEIR BED, BUT YOU HAVE THE MATTRESS FOR TONIGHT. IN 35 YEARS OF MOVING, I HAVE NEVER HAD A CLIENT(S) THAT HAVE BEEN SO DISRESPECTFUL, UNFAIR, AND RUDE & THOUGHT THAT WAS THE WAY TO GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. ANY OTHER MOVERS READING THIS, IF CALLED ON BY THESE FOLKS BE AWARE, THEY ARE YOUNG AND HAVE SOME MAJOR ISSUES!!! FOR OTHERS READING THIS, PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE MY BUSINESS BY THIS ONE (1) CUSTOMER REPLY. BEING CONCERNED IS FAIR; ASKING QUESTIONS IS FAIR. I WILL PROVIDE QUALITY SERVICE AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. THESE PEOPLE WERE FOR WHATEVER REASON(S) HAD A MONEY PROBLEM AT THE END AND LOOKING FOR A WAY NOT TO PAY!! I CAN HONESTLY SAY AS A BUSINESS PERSON I TRIED EVERYTHING IN MY POWERS TO HELP THIS MOVE GO AS SMOOTH AS POSSIBLE. THE HUSBAND AND WIFE COULD NOT AGREE ON WHAT THEY WANTED OR THEY PLAYED THE GAME LIKE THAT VERY WELL! I DO NOT CARE WHO MOVED THEM, YOU WERE GOING TO HAVE ISSUES. I BELIEVE THEY HAD THIS PLAN AND THIS IS HOW THEY GET THINGS DONE! IN THE FUTURE AS THEY GROW UP (MENTALLY) I DO HOPE THEY REALIZE THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO HANDLE ANY BUSINESS. LAST THINGS: CALL ME AND OR ANY OF MY PRIOR CLIENTS AND YOU WILL SEE THAT WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT ME AND MY TEAM IS NOT TRUE AND IS NOT IN OUR CHARACTER. They were punctual, fast and were kind enough to even rearrange the furniture when I found I didn't like it as it was. Roy's pricing was fair and matched his estimate exactly ($440). He and Freddy were a pleasure to work with, so much so, in fact, that my fianc e hired them for his move into our new house. Again, the pricing was fair & they worked quickly. My fianc es cost was the required 3- hour minimum since the two homes were within a block of each other.
Description of Work: Moved heavy furniture only from a 1 BR, 2nd story condo to a house, 25 miles away.

The move went extremely well. Roy and his crew were on time; quick, yet careful with our belongings; and friendly, but professional. They loaded up their truck in a few hours and were able to unload everything at the new house and move a refrigerator from inside the new house to the garage, as the kitchen was going to be remodeled. Total move time was less than 6 hours with no mishaps, even though getting the refrigerator out to the garage was a hassle as the refrigerator doors needed to be removed in order to fit through the doors. But there was no damage to any of our belongings and I really appreciated the ease of the move.
Description of Work: Moved furniture and boxes from a 3 bedroom house and back apartment to a 4 bedroom house.

The bottom line: Roy is professional, prompt, detail oriented, respectful, and communicates well and is easy to do business with. My experience with The Moving Consolidators was perfect. Over the phone I told Roy my situation. I asked him to move the equivalent of a one bedroom condo from Orange County to the Pasadena area. He asked detailed questions and provided me a quote. On the date of the move he and his staff arrived exactly on time, surveyed the items to be moved, and carefully and methodically packed my items (including a piano) into his moving truck with care. Nothing was damaged in the move. I plan to use Roy again as I anticipate moving in 2009.
Description of Work: Over the phone, Roy (the owner of The Moving Consolidators) and I discussed my move, the type of furniture, boxes, household items, plants, piano, etc. to be moved. Between my initial call and the moving date, Roy either answered or promptly returned my calls when I had questions. On the moving date he and his staff arrived on time, were dressed well, and promptly started to package and move my items. Roy and his staff demonstrated great care in packaging and moving my items, and most importantly Roy and his staff communicated well with each other and worked well together. Roy gave me reasonable expectations during my initial call and in subsequent communications, and clearly delivered (and then some) when it came to the moving date and his work product. Clearly, his experience and professionalism were self evident.

They did not break anything and they did a great job. They did a superb job and I was very impressed. They were on time and moved everything as quickly as they could. I was pleased overall with the service.
Description of Work: They moved us about 4 miles. They moved stuff out of storage as well as our whole three bedroom house. It took them two days. There was a lot of heavy furniture and boxes.

Roy Fontenette Jr. was recommended to me by a manager of my condo who had observed his work in the past. Roy came to my home to discuss the move and called me soon after with a very fair, reasonable estimate. My entire experience was excellent from beginning to end. Roy's crew worked hard, not wasting time/money, with a serving attitude, similar to service you would expect from an upscale hotel. They were efficient, accommodating, professional, and trustworthy. Roy did not try to gouge me by requiring me to box odd shaped items on moving day to increase his profit, a common practice of many low cost movers. I have never had a better moving experience. It was uncomplicated and stress free. My neighbor commented about how nice it was to see workers that really enjoyed their jobs. Maybe it is because Roy respects his workers. I can't speak highly enough about Roy's Moving Consolidators, LLC. I actually enjoyed writing Roy a check with a nice tip for him and his crew.
Description of Work: The first day Roy, the owner, and his crew moved my antiques (2 armoires) and belongings out of my cottage in a secluded area of the Hollywood Hills (146 steps down a narrow trail from the street). The next day he moved our things into our condo and on-site storage unit. His crew boxed kitchen and closet items and wrapped antiques upon my request at the last minute..

All good stories begin with good communication. Roy came to appraise the size of the move and explain the charges. He followed up with confirmation calls and emails. Anyone who has moved many times, as we have, knows all too well how frustrating and maddening dealing with movers can be. You won't be disappointed with the performance of Roy and his crew. They were Punctual, Professional, Pleasant, Polite an Accomodating and just nice guys to be around for a couple of days. Everything was packed and handled with the best of care. I did not find these guys on Angie's List. I happened to meet them a year prior when returning a rental truck. I am happy to say that my instincts were right on the money. They also came highly recommended. Roy and his gang will quickly rise to the top of Angie's List and rightly so. They are the kind of professionals that will continue to make Angie's List the success that it is. You may be able to find some movers as good, but you won't find any better!
Description of Work: Moved from storage to new home on first day and from 2 story apartment to new home on the second day. Required moving some into the house and some into the garage in the alley behind. Both instances included some large heavy pieces. Total time required was approximately 16 hours.

I have moved before, so I have a basis for comparison, and this was a very pleasant experience! Roy came to the house to give me an estimate, which proved to be very accurate. His pricing was reasonable, he packed every piece carefully and there was not a scratch on anything. He was prompt, didn't waste any time, was certainly trustworthy, and is just a nice person to deal with. I would recommend him to my best friend and would certainly employ him myself if I have to move again.
Description of Work: Moved my household from Glendora to San Dimas. Loaded at one location and took furniture to my new home and to a storage unit. Delivered a refrigerator to a third address.
