They often go weeks without picking up our trash, which is what we pay them to do. As other reviews have pointed out, their customer service is useless as they do not have direct communication with the dispatch or drivers. When we have talked to managers, they are not that much better. Costumer service reps and managers refuse to provide any direct contact information so we cannot follow up with them and they can avoid any personal responsibility for failures to follow through on requests we have made or work orders they have submitted, which has happened frequently. Our recycling coordinator, Selvin Chavez, whose direct contact information we do have, has failed to respond to multiple emails and phone calls, and we were told by one of their customer service reps that their recycling service uses a completely different system than their trash service, and there is no communication between the two. It has taken them over two month to switch our current trash bin for a split trash/recycling bin, with multiple mistakes made on their end. This issue still hasn't been resolved. We would never recommend this organization and the only reason we have their service is because we have to. Unfortunately, the city gave them an exclusive contract for services in our area that they clearly do not have the capacity to provide, so we are stuck with them.

The city has contracted with Athens for almost 10 years. We had not had a problem with our weekly trash pick up until the last 2 weeks. The first time our trash was not picked up, I contacted Athens and according to their records the driver said he could not enter the property because our dogs were out. We have video surveillance that shows that this was not the case. Athens did send someone to take care of it. The following week we have the same issue and again I contact Athens and they gave the same reason. Interesting how we can have the same dogs over the past 5 years and not have an issue until the past 2 weeks with this particular driver. Again we have video that shows the dogs were not out. Almost one week later not only have we have not heard back from neither the 2 supervisors I spoke to at length ( each call took almost 30 minutes each time over 3 days) nor the "manager" regarding the issue but our trash has yet to be picked up. Absolutely incompetant!!!

They had a special community trash drop off program a few months ago that was very nice, we could just bring a whole truck load. They had several points in each area of the city, and we were really happy with that, we got rid of a lot of trash that day. I think they are just very friendly people. We have had really good service from them. When we needed new cans, they came very quickly, and we have always received very good customer service from them.
