I was given a quote by another company to replace the motor in my heater that went out on Christmas day. I wanted to get a second quote because the first one was generic for the type of work that I needed but not the actual parts and labor and I was told that it would take a week or so to get the part in. When I called Jim I was trying to weather a nasty cold and had been without heat for 5 days during one of the coldest weeks of the past several years. He was very helpful in trying to locate the exact part that I needed and quickly. He called the "warehouse" to get the part shipped overnight. Due to the holidays there was a shipping glitch but Jim followed up immediately when the part didn't arrive as expected. He checked in with me several times during the day and made an appointment to install the minute he had it in his hands. His rates were extremely reasonable and far less than the quote I had received previously. I would call on La Mesa Heating and Air in a heartbeat in the future. Jim's personalized service and genuine empathy for my situation was evident.

Jim came in and accessed the old unit that was "stuck" up in the attic. He gave us an estimate to replace the unit with a name brand, reliable unit, straighten out the duct work, and bring the whole system up to code requirements. Jim was extremely knowledgeable about the heating system explaining that the existing unit was under recall and the company was giving free replacements. However someone had previously removed the identification plate required for replacement and we guessed that person took the replacement, left a photograph of the plate, and made off with the replacement. Jim came on the scheduled day with his son, did all the work as outlined in his estimate, tested the unit, and left the site as clean and neat as when he got there.
