The A-Team was one of four remodeling companies that we interviewed and from whom we obtained a quote for the remodeling of our three bathrooms. They were about 30% more expensive than our second choice provider we qualified after extensive internet searches and actual site visits of their recent jobs. The price difference proved to be totally worth it in terms of job satisfaction both during the construction and in the end result - the quality of service and caring of the owner Jeff and his two employees Angel and Hector was evident through out the process. Promptness was consistent, everyone showed up at 7:30 AM or earlier every working day, fully equipped and ready to work, which they did steadily until 3:30 PM each day, with only a lunch break in between. The owner came every day, with a few exceptions and after giving us prior notice, and discussed with us the work done yesterday and the expectation for the day. At these daily 7:30 AM meetings we were able to address every concern we had, whether it was regarding the previous day's work, or a change or addition we wanted, or some defect or quality issue we had observed. Every issue we raised was dealt with, no excuses given. In fact, Angel and Hector had personal quality standards so high that I seldom had any complaints. Communication with Jeff was consistently good, whether by text, in person, or on the phone. Every text message was answered usually within a few minutes. If you are a stickler for quality workmanship, promises met, and on-time delivery of promised results, Jeff Raleigh and the A-Team will make you very happy.

Jeff came and gave me a reasonable estimate. He ordered the door and had it delivered to my home. Two days later he was there to install it. He did a wonderful, quick, neat job. He was very punctual and very friendly. I highly recommend Jeff and his team.

Jeff and his crew are amazing! My husband and I got quotes from 4 other contractors but Jeff had us sold. This project really became my baby so I had a lot of questions, concerns and ideas. Jeff in the initial consult was so easy to talk to and never made me feel like a dummy. We had previously renovated our flooring throughout the house but doing a bathroom was a very big job. I had a lot to learn myself and Jeff helped me understand and gave great suggestions. I really enjoyed working with him because I liked bouncing ideas off each other and it really was fun to be part of the design process. He brought us samples and also went with us to pick out tile, quartz, and all the fixtures. He helped us stay under our budget, was extremely easy to get ahold of, his crew is so nice, everyone showed up when expected and they were really nice to my kids too. That's important! His tile guys, Angel and Hector, were so professional and made sure every tile was exact. I could ask them a million questions and they never were annoyed and always kept me in the loop of what they were working on. We're so happy with our bathroom and we get so many compliments. We wanted a spa feel and we absolutely got that. Jeff really helped us not only achieve what we wanted but helped us learn and evolve our own taste. Some of our ideas might not have achieved what we were hoping for but Jeff helped get us there. We even had them paint our bedroom in coordinating colors because we were under budget and we're seriously obsessed with the colors Jeff helped us pick. We cannot recommend Jeff and his crew enough. In another year we will absolutely be using A-Team to do our kitchen and I can't wait to brainstorm with Jeff again!
Description of Work: Remodel of our master bathroom including new soaker tub, tile accent wall, tiling shower, frameless glass, new sinks, new quartz countertop, new faucets and plumbing, custom mirrors, new light fixtures and pocket lights, new fan, new cabinet pulls, paint, and flooring. Also painted master bedroom.

Jeff Raleigh and his team were wonderful. I had previously had another bedroom and bathroom remodeled and used their services. I was moving and needed to fix up the 2nd bedroom and bathroom to sell. Jeff knew I was in a hurry to get my condo and the market and started the day I moved out. He is very responsive to emails and calls. He is easy to work with and he and his team do a wonderful job. I had many compliments from my neighbors on the work they had done.

My wife and I recently worked with Jeff at A-Team Residential Remodeling and let me start by saying that Jeff is great to work with and everything turned out great! When we first decided to remodel our bathrooms, we were hesitant to proceed with the project as we had heard so many horror stories about working with contractors. This was not the case with Jeff! We could sense Jeff was our guy after his initial visit to our home. We discussed the project and explained the work we wanted done. We had lots of questions and needed lots of advice and Jeff provided recommendations where needed and answered all of our questions. He was very responsive and we could tell within minutes after he left that we found the right person. A couple days later, Jeff submitted a quote and my wife and I decided to move forward with our project. Jeff quickly provided an estimated start date and outlined the work to be done and the expected timeline of the project. The first day work began, we met with Jeff and he introduced us to his team. Everyone who worked on our home was very professional and did a great job. His crew is awesome! Jeff was onsite with his team every day and made sure things progressed smoothly. The project was completed on time and my wife and I are very happy with the results. One of the things that really stood out to me during this entire process was Jeff?s communication with me on a daily basis. Each day, Jeff would provide an update of the work performed and asked me if I had any questions. I always felt comfortable speaking to Jeff and he never seemed bothered by my constant questions. Again, my wife and I are very happy with the work Jeff and his team performed. Everything looks great and we really love our new walk-in shower! An added bonus is that we stayed on budget! I strongly recommend Jeff/A-Team and know that we will use him again for any future work that we need done. Thank you Jeff and your entire team!!
Description of Work: Work included converting our master bath to a walk-in shower, new counters, sinks and cabinets in both our bathrooms, installing tile flooring, painting our bathrooms and bedroom, installing new baseboards throughout our home, new kitchen counters, and many other small tasks.

Jeff is the best and I heartily recommend him and A Team. He is honest, works hard, meets deadlines, doesn't try to play games on costs and produces very high quality work. He tells you if he goofs up (which he rarely does) and fixes it. If there is something truly beyond the original scope, he let's you know and let's you know how adding it affects schedule and cost. I had this work done in Southern California while living in England. Jeff worked with me remotely, sent LOTS of pictures and made sure I knew what was going on. Doing a local job with him would be a breeze. I'm very happy to give a direct reference if you want and Jeff has my contact details. There are no reservations or caveats in my positive review.

I really don't have enough good things to say about Jeff and his team. I've had them come out to our house for two different jobs, but to say that that's all Jeff has done for us is an understatement. The number of times he's said "I'll just fix this (unrelated thing) while I'm here" is incredible, and has solidified that we'll be hiring A-Team for any work that we can. We first hired them when our kitchen cabinets fell off of the wall thanks to a horrible job by whoever flipped our house. Thankfully no one was hurt. Most cabinet places in Angie's List are custom cabinet makers, so it took me awhile to find someone and eventually I found Jeff who was more than willing to come out ASAP to be there the same time as our insurance agent. His pricing was perfectly in line with our insurance check so we hired him to hang new cabinets. I can't even say that that's all he did, because he was so attentive to detail that he and his team fixed a bunch of other things while they were there, like replacing and painting molding in the one kitchen doorway. He was always happy to do those small jobs to help everything look better, and he never charged us more than just a small amount of labor and for materials, so I know he wasn't just magically finding things wrong in our house to jack up his bill. We were so impressed that we've basically started a "A-Team Fix It" list around the house and have already hired him for two more jobs, one of which he just did recently by replacing three old windows in our house with new ones. The biggest selling point for us is how Jeff not only makes time in his schedule but also communicates extremely well. I wish I could tell you how many places I've called for other projects, sometimes even large ones (like when we got our roof replaced, or AC put in) that never called me back or were slow to work with us. Jeff has been known to reply to my messages within 10 minutes of me sending them. Who does that anymore? It was one of the biggest things that made me feel confident in his company and that they care about working with us, not just treating us like a big checkbook. I wish other CA contractors would feel the same way, but since they don't then I'm happy to give my money to A-Team. One last little "here's why they're awesome" fact. We have a 1 year old child that takes naps during the day. During the cabinet rehanging process, my wife realized that the members of A-Team that were out to work on it suddenly got very quiet when she took our child into her room to put her down for a nap. When she eventually came back out after our kid was asleep my wife noticed that the guys were working much quieter than they had been. I talked to Jeff about it later and he said that the guys had kids themselves and clearly understood what had happened - that my wife was putting our child down for a nap - and adjusted their volume to help out. I know this won't always be something they can do, but in our case they were able to and they did, and that cemented to me how awesome they were. If you read this far in my comment, just hire them for your job already. You won't regret it. We certainly haven't, and I've got more work already lined up for them!

We are speechless! It went perfect! Talk about punctual, perfectionist and clean! They came in the day we were expecting, taped up the areas they would be coming and going, and always vacuumed and cleaned up before they left. It took a month to do the project, and was finished when we were told. His employees can be trusted, I left them at home every day as my husband and I had to work. We never felt they were in the way and did a magnificent job on the bathroom. It truly was a dream come true!
Description of Work: Jeff and his AMAZING team remodeled our master bathroom. It was a big job as we needed to move a wall, the entry door and add a shower and a tub, whereas, there was only room for a shower.

I am in the construction business myself, and have over 30 years of experience with Contractors. Like most people, I am as wary of them as I am of Lawyers and Govt people. Jeff met all of his commitments and kept me informed every day of the progress of his work. He and his crew performed every task in a very professional manner and I am impressed with the finished product. Jeff added a few extra touches that were not in our agreement, creating a first class job. The tile work is so much better than I expected it to be. It is rare for any work in construction to be framed and finished to within 1/8". As a glass man, I am all too familiar with trying to make up for the sins of bad framing and tile work. I can now add the glass shower enclosure to this new unit with confidence that it will fit well, and there will be very limited caulking to hide imperfections. I will hold on to Jeff's number for as long as I own my home. He's very busy because of his reputation, but trust me, he is worth the wait.

I was very happy with the work that Jeff, Angel and Hector did . . . Jeff was very responsive from my initial contact with him and he provided a ton of design advice which I really appreciated. Jeff and his crew were always on time, the area was cleaned up at the end of the day and they did their best to minimize interruption during the job. There were a couple of minor issues that came up and they were addressed satisfactorily and in a timely manner. Jeff went out of his way to review the details of the job, keep me informed of progress and let me know when any issues came up. I have to say that I really, really love my new bathroom and look forward to working with A-Team Residential in the future.
Description of Work: Jeff and his team remodeled a small master bathroom for me. The work they did included the following: • Demo: removal of the shower stall, toilet, vanity, counter top, light box, tile and closet doors • Shower: moved the shower drain to center of shower pan, raised the shower head and installed a new one-handle diverter; repaired the subfloor in shower pan, installed a new shower curb and did 2 x 12 backing for hot mop of shower pan; installed new 4 x 12 white subway tile on shower walls and shower pan floor tiles • Lighting: installed an LED light in shower and over toilet, install new LED lights over vanity area • Floors: Installed hardie sub floor in bathroom, vanity area and closet and all new floor tile (which looks awesome)! • Vanity: Assembled and install new vanity cabinets, spacers and trim; installed sub top on new cabinets and oversaw countertop install • Plumb new sink, faucet, drain and trap and reinstall toilet with new wax ring • Oversaw installation of new glass shower doors • Fancy stuff: New insulation, aqua bar water membrane and new densheild wall board

Jeff was great to work with from day one. He does everything he can to meet the customers' needs. He met with us multiple times to help pick out everything (tiles, vanity, etc.) for the reno and helped us save a lot of money on things that we didn't have to spend extra money on. I have been involved in house reno's before so I scheduled the demo of the old bathroom to be done while me and my family were away on vacation because the old bathroom had a lot of tile. When we returned from the vacation, I was shocked that there was no trace of any dust in the house. He had put up a zip door at the bathroom entry and had the path from entry of the house to the bathroom covered. He and his crew always went the extra distance to make sure the house was as clean as possible through out the process. I have two little kids and that was extremely important and appreciated. He showed up every day and gave me updates, which was much appreciated as well. We are extremely happy with our bathroom and recommend Jeff and his team to anyone looking to do a reno. He and his team is top notch.

Jeff and his crew were amazing. He is not only punctual and professional, but also congenial. His crew was the same. The fact that he employs his own crew and doesn't just sub everything out was a comforting feeling. We were having a very busy time in our lives and Jeff managed to make the experience as painless as possible. He kept to schedule, was respectful of our time, kept the workspace as contained as possible, consulted with us to make sure we got the best deals, gave us suggestions for the project and finished with a project on budget and better than we had expected or planned initially. One bathroom had to be completely gutted and planned out. Jeff's team took it down to the studs, moved a door out, added a fan, did drywall, tile work, installed the shower, painted and installed all the fixtures. The other bathroom had one door to a hallway. We added a second door to the main area, changed the flooring and moved some electric. I have recommended Jeff to my friends and look forward to working with him on future projects at our house.

This is a review of Jeff / A-Team with respect to their customer service / follow up to a request for estimates, as we have ultimately decided to wait to have work performed on our home. Jeff was very responsive when I reached out. He scheduled a time to come and look at what we want done and provide estimates. He arrived on time and really listened to the vision we had for our home. Best, he provided advice on how we could save money by doing work slightly different than envisioned but that would produce the same end product. I'm disappointed we had to put our remodel plans on hold but I'm happy we got our estimates from Jeff as I feel he was really honest with us about cost. Highly recommend.

Jeff Raleigh, owner responded to our request very quickly. He gave us a reasonable estimate for all the labor and discussed the material we would have to buy, much through him at his cost, no markup. His team always arrived on time, did great work, and kept all the work area and house involved very neat and clean. The only delays in the project were the result of contractors manufacturing the vanities and the counter tops. All of the others he subcontracted with were all as punctual and responsive as the A-Team personnel. Jeff spent much time discussing possible designs, materials and final presentation such as the color of the tiles used, the vanity materials, the color of the paints, etc. Jeff went with us on the weekends to pick out the tiles for the floors and tub and shower. We are very happy with the workmanship and performance of A-Team and highly recommend them to anyone considering remodeling.

I contacted Jeff at the end of January 2015 based on all the great reviews on Angie?s list. He was very polite and personable over the phone. One of the first things he mentioned was that he wouldn?t be able to start work until March. I said that I understood and that other contractors were also busy through the next couple of months so we?d work with what we could. We coordinated an initial meeting via text message. He was very responsive and was eager to meet about the kitchen work that I needed done. He arrived on time and was very pleasant while taking measurements of the kitchen. I told him what our rough budget was and he said it would be tough to meet but he would work with me and give me options once he sat down to write up a quote. He said that he would have the quote to me in exactly a week. So a week goes by and no quote. I texted him 9 days after our first meeting to see if a quote was on its way and he texted back that he had emailed it to me. I confirmed via text message that I didn?t receive the quote in email. He then called me and said that he booked other jobs since we last met and that he wouldn?t be available to start work until April and asked if we could wait that long. I said probably not, but still was hoping to see a quote. He said he would send me one. I contacted him the following day reminding him about the quote. He finally texted me saying that since he?s not going to do the job, he?s not going to spend any more time on it and gave me a rough line item estimate via text message. We were actually waiting for his quote (last one) to compare with other contractors. I wish he was up front with me in his lack of interest to do the work so that we could have gone with another contractor sooner. This is a complaint on his lack of respect for mine and my family?s time. We will have to live out of suitcases longer due to this setback. Update Feb 25, 2015: The response to this review is unprofessional. Bottom line: He committed to providing a formal quote, was dishonest about emailing one, and never fully followed through on his commitment. But, we ended up going with a reputable, licensed contractor that completed the work by Feb 20 at 30% less! I contacted another contractor (via Angie?s List and around the same time as my initial meeting with Jeff). This other contractor was up front with me, said he really didn?t have time to do the work and recommended going directly to one of his sub-contractors? we went with his reco? and there you have it? a true professional? and a completed job. However, there was a two week schedule delay due to the time we were waiting on Jeff?s quote because we could have signed with them a week earlier and missed open slots. I highly recommend seeking quotes and service from others if considering going with this contractor.
Description of Work: Agreed to quote service, however no quote was provided.

I saw this one coming, let's start from the beginning. I met with you on a Sunday(went out of my way) to see the scope of work. I said I would get you an estimate within a week, it went 8 days. Most people take 2 weeks to get estimates. I booked other work in the week that you were waiting for the estimate, that means your job (that was never in contract) will get pushed back even further. I told you I wouldn't be able to fit in your time schedule, I was always up front about being very busy and you may have to wait till an opening happens. So why would I waste any more time after you said no I can't wait till April and your not going to use me? Now your complaining. I'm not the reason your in suitcases still. Good luck finding a good contractor to start in a week. That's funny it all my fault. I love how people now a days have to blame everyone but themselves. Jeff

What a great team! Jeff and his team arrived when they said they would, were very respectful of my home, cleaned up nicely at the end of each day. Each morning Jeff let me know what was planned for the day and kept me informed of progress and any decisions that had to be made. They offered ideas that I might not have thought of. They handled the permit and inspections and everything was done on time. I will definitely use them when it's time to redesign and remodel my kitchen.

I come from a household of non-fussy dudes. My dad didn't raise my brother and I to be snobs, and our living standards have always been influenced by his bachelor-minded propensity for function over form. It works up to a point, but as you get older, things change and if you're raised well enough, there comes a time where you need to start thinking about elevating your standards for the better, as I did a year ago, when my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and life around his household started requiring us to really consider the standard of living we want our father to have over the next several years. So, we took a good look around his condo, and identified some things are in dire need of adjustment to help benefit his well being in addition to protecting my long term sanity as a care taker for however long this journey lasts. He's lived here for almost 24 years, and never bothered with anything beyond a few coats of paint in eccentric color choices. This in mind, the obvious place to start making some meaningful changes was the bathroom, which in addition to looking quite tired, was also becoming a liability for an elderly gentleman whose equilibrium has been affected by his medical condition. It quickly became imperative to get this project started so I can get my dad a functional restroom he could navigate in comfortably, and I did not feel like trying to shop 4 or 5 contractors just to abate my own personal neuroses about who I felt would best get the job done. Reviews and word of mouth are a pretty good indicator as to what to expect from a company, so I did my proper due diligence through Angie's List, liked the idea of a no non-sense, honest company, checked out Jeff's web site and sent him a message explaining the situation. He called me back within a half hour, we set up a date to have him come check out the facilities. When he got here, I felt that we were both generally on the same page as to what needed to be done in the restroom within 5 minutes, and I appreciated that he made several suggestions off the bat on how to reduce the cost on materials and gave his input on some current design trends that might date the look of our new restroom in a few years. He grabbed some photos, got an estimate out to me within a few days, and I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Within a couple weeks, Jeff and I had signed a contract, worked out tile selection and set a start date (which turned out to be a month sooner than originally negotiated due to some unexpected juggling in his team's schedule that worked in my favor). He started January 5, and work lasted approx. two weeks. Jeff was onsite every day to check on the status of the project, kept me apprised on any hiccups that may have come about as a result of the design limitations in our space and any crummy work done by subcontractors brought on for building-wide maintenance projects sponsored by our HOA in past years. He was also very complimentary on my choice in materials and colors, and kept me reassured throughout the whole process. The crew cleaned up after themselves every day, was extremely courteous and punctual and demonstrated wonderful respect and tact with my dad, who sometimes likes to Supervise. I told Jeff early on that taking a dump is serious business in our house of dudes, and as the project went along, I did end up ponying up for some more premium appointments in the room that ended up driving up the original projected cost of the entire project. But the end result is that we now have very awesome looking restroom built for my dad that looks very modern, very appealing, and provides him with the maneuverability and accessibility that he needs at this time in his life. And most of all, it's constructed with an aesthetic and at a standard that he and any decent father would be deserving of a hundred times over. I'm very much looking forward to having Jeff back in a few months to start working on the kitchen, in addition to other rooms in the house to help round out this monster that was born in the Throne Room. I appreciate all your hard work, Jeff! Talk soon.

We love Jeff's work! Very happy with the work he did in May and August that we decided to do more. Bathroom and family room work took 2 weeks for completion. No issues or problems with anything, pretty pain free. Lots of drop cloths and plastic to keep everything clean. Very tidy and neat. His entire crew work very well together and they have years ++ of experience. Jeff was wonderful for helping with ideas and lots of pictures of completed jobs to help make my decision making easier. There are just so many choices out there in bathroom design!!
Description of Work: 3rd phase repeat customer. Gutted guest bathroom: replaced bathroom vanity, lighting, sink, faucet, toilet, bath tub with porcelain tile, shampoo niche, new plumbing, shower doors, tile baseboard, new paint, bathroom exhaust fan. Did 6 recessed lights in family room, redid fireplace mantle, and new ceiling fan - retextured and painted too.

We are a 2nd Phase happy repeat customer!! Jeff and his wonderful crew came back to redo our Master bathroom shower after replacing 2 vanities in my house in May(review online too). We had an unexpected problem when he went to pull the old tile off, we had mold and our 2nd story beam that holds up the bathroom area had rotted. Jeff's crew was able to clean/rid of the mold and replace the 2nd story beam of my house. They were fast and responsive and maintained high quality. Jeff's team is highly skilled in all aspects of house building and he made this repair as pain free as possible.
Description of Work: Replaced Master Bathroom shower with porcelain tile, 2 shampoo niches, bench seat, new glass doors, tile flooring, tile baseboards, installed cabinet, and replaced toilet, new lighting, and paint. Additional work to fix a rotted beam that supported the master bathroom on 2nd story.

Jeff Raleigh and his team at A-Team Remodeling did a fantastic job. Jeff was very patient with me and helping me pick out everything from drawer handles, to paint and tile. I had never done anything like this and was very nervous to pick something I wouldn't like once it was done. He showed me multiple pictures of completed projects and allowed me time to make a decision without pressuring me. He called and texted me throughout the project to keep me updated and answered any questions I had. They were prompt and always cleaned up when they left for the day. They completed the project on time and it looks beautiful! Jeff even came back twice when I couldn't find the right light fixture and wanted to change it. He also went the extra mile to take my window screen to be repaired and brought it back after the job was already completed. I will definitely use Jeff and his team again when I fix the other bathroom and bedroom.
Description of Work: Remodel of Master bedroom and bathroom. Gutted the bathroom, installed new plumbing and moved drain over to the other side in the tub/shower so I wouldn't have to lean over the toilet to turn on the water. Modified the walls to allow for a 36" vanity, removed popcorn celings, installed ceiling fan, installed recessed lighting throughout bathroom and bedroom. Installed new baseboards and painted.

Jeff gave me an estimate and pretty much stayed true, there was a slight increase in the initial bid but because I increased scope of the job. This is a kitchen of a house built in 1924, with the kitchen separated from the breakfast nook and the mud room by walls. The walls were removed, structural assessment completed, some electrical rewiring and additions due to removal of walls. Jeff started on time and finished as promised, kitchen is now beautiful without walls obstructing and breaking up space. I will hire again for a job of this nature without hesitation. Thanks Jeff!

It has taken me a long time to submit this scathing review because I didn't want to do something I might regret later. It's now almost a year and a half later and I wouldn't change a word. After interviewing several contractors I am very disappointed in my decision to go with Jeff Raleigh of the A Team. After all of the wonderful reviews I read about Jeff I thought I had found a talented and honest contractor. I called him about an estimate the end of Jan. 2013 for a small addition and deck enclosure. He came over promptly and I liked him very much, but he wouldn't give me an estimate of any kind. He said the first thing I needed to do was have an architect draw up a set of plans and he suggested his "architect" that he had worked with for the past several years. So I met with his "architect," David Barron. I thought working with someone Jeff had confidence in would ensure a smoother process. The problems started after viewing the preliminary drawings. After several more meetings, because of his lack of construction knowledge plus poor design and listening skills, I began to question whether David Barron was an architect at all. So I asked where he went to school and it turns out he didn't. He wasn't an architect after all and we had already paid him his $3000 fee. We were supposed to receive a completed set of drawings for this fee but as it turned out we never did. To make matters worse he informed me that Jeff had handed our project over to him and he was very excited because it was the first time Jeff put him completely in charge of a project. Well, I wasn't too thrilled about it and just stood there dumbstruck . I think he must have noticed the shocked look on my face because he quickly assured me that Jeff would still be overseeing the project. I don't know what that meant because there was no further communication between Jeff and I. It was frustrating not being able to talk with Jeff, after all, it was Jeff and his reputation that we had contacted through Angie's list not this guy who was proving to be more and more untrustworthy and incompetent as time passed. During our meetings he spent a good portion of the time talking about how busy he was on other projects. He rescheduled appointments multiple times and sometimes 2 or 3 weeks would go by without hearing from him at all. I tried to keep believing everything would work out OK because I still believed Jeff was a trustworthy guy and he was overseeing the project....right? But by the end of June the project was no closer to starting, my husband had had it and during what turned out to be our last meeting, he questioned David about some extra charges he had threatened me with in an earlier phone conversation. It was obvious by the tension in the air and his quick exit that David was not at all happy with my husbands questions. The next day Jeff called me with a basic, over the phone, estimate that was about double our budget. This after being reassured by David, time after time over the previous five months, that they could work with our budget and Jeff was excited about doing our project. This was the first and only estimate we ever got. Knowing a little bit about pricing I quickly realized this, over the phone, est. was way out of line. I know David Barron wasn't at all happy when he left our last meeting but I don't know what he told Jeff. Whatever it was it obviously lead to Jeff's phone call the next day. Of course, that was the end of the project. I don't think Jeff ever really knew anything about our project beyond our initial meeting. He did stop by in June and knew nothing about several things I pointed out. He made a comment about this project going on too long and I wondered, at the time, who he thought was responsible for that. Jeff told me things in the beginning he didn't follow thru on and I believe it was because he put our project into the hands of an incapable fraud and we never had any direct communication with each other. In the end we found out David Barron has several violations against him, including; diversion of funds, willful or fraudulent act and license suspension. Jeff Raleigh passed us off to this guy and it cost us over $4500 to end up with nothing. It would have cost us another $3500 if we had gone with the soils testing guy David Barron took 3 weeks to find. (I found one for $700 in 1 day! ) I was so excited in the beginning. Maybe things would have turned out differently if we had chosen our own "real" architect and were able to work directly with Jeff. We've put off the much needed remodel to our house because I'm afraid to stick my neck out there again. I feel like we were suckered into a waste of six months time and $4500. I still think Jeff is probably a good contractor and I'm sorry I wasn't able to work with him. But why would he be working with a guy like David Barron and why did he tell me David Barron was an architect? Why did he put David Barron in charge of our project? Ultimately, Jeff made these decisions and that makes him responsible. It was a very costly and upsetting experience. Jeff's response to this review is yet another disappointment. It appears that he is not always the decent guy he claims to be. Certainly not in this case. In this case the decent thing to do would have been to contact me after reading this review and attempt to find out why I gave him this scathing review. Especially if he doesn't understand why he's getting a bad review. I was not a difficult client. I was always willing to change my plans to accommodate David. I always paid for whatever was required immediately. David knew our budget within the first few meetings, if Jeff didn't know it it's because David didn't tell him. The bathroom was always part of the project. It was the #1 reason for the project. The only change I made was to make the addition 1 foot wider. All the other changes were to fix mistakes David made in the drawings. I didn't pull the plug after the city said they wanted soil samples, I paid for a soils report and it was submitted and accepted by the city. And on and on and on... Jeff can accuse me of whatever he likes but I stand by my review. And for the record, I looked David Barron up on the CA Contractors Lic. Board web site. That's where I got my information.

When we first met I said I would not give estimates based on your drawings on a piece of graph paper. I explained the process of what you would need to go through in order to start your project. I referred you to David and told you he was a draftsman not an architect. I told you to go hire a draftsman or a architect but an architect will cost you twice as much or more. I explained why I will not give an estimate till I see plans that are stamped and approved by the city. I explained that as well. When I see a real set of plans, I know the client is serious about moving forward with the addition and not fishing for numbers and wasting my time. Days of time are spent helping someone put together a real estimate. What you had in your mind for your addition and deck and roof would never fit into your budget. I never said we could meet your numbers because I never knew them. Your plans changed 3 to 4 times and at the end you even added a bathroom. I'm not even sure why I'm getting the bad review. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Dave and you should have followed through with him and you would have received your city approved plans. You were the one who pulled the plug after the city said they wanted soil samples, you said you didn't want to spend anymore money. I have no knowledge of his bad reputation you discovered and if I did I wouldn't have referred you to him. I know that Dave said he never heard from you again after I gave you the numbers over the phone. You doubled your estimate with all the changes you made. You could have contacted him or me and informed me of how disappointed you were but didn't. A year and a half goes by and now you say something???? This is the first I'm hearing of it. I have worked with Dave for over 4 years and never have had a problem with how he handled his business. Dave has had 2 citations from the Contractors board in over 20 years and fraud was never one of them. If you do not comply (correct) with the citation, the California State License Board will suspend your license till you do comply. He is a current licensed, bonded and insured contractor and is very knowledgeable in the construction field. He has always been since the first day we have worked together. I have never had a problem with a client I have worked for because I do what I say , I'm honest, I do the best job and ALWAYS have their best interest in mind. ANYONE READING THIS PLEASE SEE MY OTHER (64) REAL REVIEWS, I never worked for this client and there is good reasons why I chose not to. I have the right to choose who I will work for, just like you have the right to choose who works for you in your home. I have worked EXTREMELY hard at building my business and reputation 1 client at a time. There has never been a job that I or my team didn't give 100%. I know this because of the successful return business I have received since starting A-TEAM and feel very blessed and grateful for every client sent to me. Jeff Raleigh A-Team Residential Remodeling

Our house is close to 100 years old and we wanted a complete remodel of our main floor bathroom. This entailed removing a built in cast iron claw foot tub, tile and lath and plaster walls. I had multiple contractors provide bids for the work and was most impressed with Jeff. When determining which bid to go with we not only considered the cost but the style and design suggestions that each contractor presented. Jeff was open and honest regarding what he could do and what we might encounter considering the age of our home. He assisted in the selection of the new fixtures and provided suggestions along the way for each decision that needed to be made. The A Team crew did their best to contain the dust and dirt as much as possible and cleaned up the work area at the end of each day. They were always very professional and did awesome work. They were considerate of our living conditions during the job. Jeff was on site each day and kept us informed of the progress and any issues. The toilet and vanity were repositioned to make the room more functional. The new tub included custom glass doors. The job was completed on time and we were very pleased with the end result. I love my new bathroom! We have contracted with the A Team to do our upstairs bathroom which is currently a work in progress and they are again doing an awesome job. I would highly recommend the A Team!
