La Jolla Lock and Safe

The locksmith showed up a bit early. After being shown the various locks to be re-keyed, he got right to work. My father had some old keys that the smith was able to use (at no charge to us) to make new keys. Since I hadn't spent time getting bids, I don't know whether the work was reasonably priced; however the smith did a the job neatly and efficiently, was totally non-intrusive, and was courteous and professional. I would use this company again with no reservations.

Great experience. But be sure that you're calling the correct locksmith!

Very badly. Every service call required that I miss work, which is difficult for me. On the first visit the technician verified that the lock was broken and told me that they would need to special-order a new one. I asked how long it would take, and he said probably a week or two. That began a series of miscommunications, culminating in a phone call after about a month in which the woman who seemed to be in charge of the office informed me that she had never heard of me and certainly the order hadn't been placed. That was followed after a couple of days by a phone call from the technician saying that the lockset was sitting on the shelf in the office and had been there the whole time. We made an appointment for him to install the lockset, he showed up close to on-time, and did the work--except that the lockset grabbed our key (some worse than others) so the door would end up unlocked with a key sticking out of the door on the outside. The technician returned and said, yes, the lock was grabbing the key. He tried to remedy the problem, and made some progress, but it still happens. I like the looks of the Baldwin lockset, and the first one we had was wonderful and lasted something like 15 years until a tiny part in the interior of the lock broke. I still like the looks of the replacement, and my husband and I have learned to live with its shortcomings, but the service from this company was terrible. I say and quot;caveat emptorand quot; to anyone who is considering hiring them.

He came when he said he was coming. The pricing was fair.He was nice and did his work. In fact, one other time he told us we didn't need what Home Depot told us we needed and saved us a couple hundred dollars on a bunch of locks that we could change over our old ones and not have to buy the new ones. He was friendly.

Overall, it was a good experience. The person who came was professional and took care of the work quickly. One new key came with the job and we bought 3 more. He suggested purchasing the keys from a locksmith since local hardware stores do not always do a good job making keys. We've had that experience in the past and since we didn't want to repeat it, we went ahead and bought the keys from them. Without keys, the job would've been $95. The only disappointment was that he showed up almost an hour late. I was given a 2 hour window. When that window passed, I called the business to find out what was up. They said he was "on his way" but it still took more than 45 minutes for what should've been a 10 min drive.

They were very helpful. They came over and looked at a door that I wasn't sure about. They tried squirting oil on it to see if that worked, but I ended up having them replace the lock. The locksmith was very professional and arrived on time. I have nothing to compare the price to, but I felt that I probably could have replaced the lock myself.

They were prompt. They actually came early which was great! The door was sticking and he even told us how to fix that.

They did a good job. My husband was happy!

Came promptly the day after I called. Polite and professional. Had several deadbolts with different finishes to chose from. I had also been having problems with the front door latch - he took it apart and diagnosed the problem. The knob mechanism will probably need replacement if I want to fix the problem (if the lubrication he did doesn't improve the situation). He suggested that they may have a knob at the shop that I could buy (rather than buy the whole assembly at a store).

Three visits to my home were required: the first to estimate the cost and how many new locks were needed; the second for installation; the third to fix a latch that wasn't closing properly later. They were very nice, cheerful, knowledgeable, and professional. The work was done very quickly. I was happy with the experience.

TELL THEM YOU WISH TO BUY YOUR OWN LOCKS ETC. THEY WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED. PROBABLY SAVE YOU QUITE A BIT.

THEY WERE ABLE TO COME RIGHT AWAY. POLITE, PROFESSIONAL, AND VERY HELPFUL.

THEY ARE FABULOUS. THEY ANSWER PHONES JUST AS PROFESSIONALLY AS THEY DO THEIR WORK. THE ARE FAST AND EFFICIENT. I WOULDN'T CONSIDER USING ANYONE ELSE.
