The experience was terrible. I wrote an email to GE corporate about the experience. I have never had any issues before with my GE appliances, but that was not the case with any repair service. He didn't appear to know what he was doing.
Description of Work: I needed the regulator on my range fixed. He read the manual and told me that the oven didn't need to be fixed and then left.

We have a large built in refrigerator that the freezer compartment quit freezing. I had this problem before and used another vendor that took probably 20 visits over a 2-3 month period before the leak was finally taken care of. By that time, I had had several instances of having food defrost in the freezer. This time, I went to the manufacturers website and looked to see who they recommended in my area. I got on Angie's List and saw the rating and was a little nervous since I prefer to do business with people rated only with A's. They sent out a technician the same day, but was told that since this was a closed system unit, that I needed the specialist, Ahmad to come out. I gotta say, Ahmad knows his stuff. He needed to order a new compressor, at a cost of $2400. But a new refrigerator is over $8000, so this seemed a reasonable solution. We ran into several different problems along the way, but eventually got the repairs done. Rated lower on punctuality only because of one mis-communication where we were told that Ahmad would be at our house on Saturday morning to conduct repairs, and it actually occurred on Sunday. Yes, he came Sunday morning and worked 6 hours. Rated lower on responsiveness as they ordered a part for the door and got the part ordered wrong so we are still waiting for that to be repaired but we are in contact with them. I would definitely recommend them for repairs to large built in refrigerators because Ahmad.
Description of Work: Replaced the compressor and had to replace several lines previously damaged through other repair.

I called D&j Appliances to come and give me an estimate to repair both my washer and dryer. They came quickly (within two days) and gave us a estimate. The serviceman was very nice and knowledgeable. I was told the parts needed to be ordered and would take about 5-7 days. I waited 6 days and called to check if the parts had come and was told that no they had not come in yet. I called again on the 8th day (which was a Friday) and was told that the dryer part had been there for a few days but they were waiting for the washer part to arrive before coming out to do the work. They felt for sure the part would be there by Monday and they tenitively booked me on Tuesday for the repair guy to come and do the repairs. Monday I called and was told the part still wasn't there. It was now 11 days later, I had a very large pile of dirty clothes and one unhappy mama. I had called the Maytag a few month previous to inquire about ordering a boot for the washer and was told there was an appliance dealer 13 miles from me who sold the part. I called D&J Appliance and asked them where they were purchasing the parts from, thinking it must have been across the country only to find it was the same appliance dealer that was 13 miles away. ( 18 miles from their business). I told D&J to cancel the washer boot and I would drive to the appliance dealer and buy the part myself and I wanted them to come and repair the dryer and install the boot. Luckily, I had the repair appointment for the next day (Tuesday). I asked if they could get an early morning appointment and was told no because of the way they plan their route for the day. I was told they would be here between 3-5 pm. He arrived after 5 pm and finished after 6 pm. I was his last appointment of the day. Three things made me very unhappy with this company's service. #1 I can understand them not wanting to make two trips to do two repairs, but since the dryer part came in and it was already 7 days and no sign of the washer part you would think they might offer to come and do the repair on the dryer. I could still use the washer but not the dryer and so would have appreciated getting it repaired sooner. #2 I would have appreciated them changing their route to accomodate me as they were 5 days later getting the job done then quoted.....really it could have been longer if I had not gone to pick up the washer part. #3 I paid $81.50 for the washer boot and they had quoted me $114.00 for the same part. The serviceman that came to do the quote and repairs was very nice and did a good job and gave me some good information., but as far as the company's service I was not at all happy and definitely would not refer them to anyone.
Description of Work: The boot (rubber gasket) in the front load Maytag Neptune washing machine had a crack and was leaking water onto the floor. This boot needed to be replaced. We also had a Maytag dryer that wasn't heating and the ignitor needed to be replaced.

Company was one of two the manufacturer recommended, other company did not have good review. They came the day after calling. Repairman called to let me know that his estimate would go up $12.00, thought that was nice although not expected. The part arrived within a week and was repaired. Serviceman was on time,pleasant and professional.
Description of Work: Wine Cooler stopped working. They identified a bad thermostat, ordered a new one and within a week had the replacement installed.
