Our experience with James Lee and his workers follows the pattern of most others who have reported here. They were thorough and conscientious. James is a very good salesman for his company. His workers are polite and diligent. James came back at the end of the job to double check the work. The paint job looks great. Upon request, they came back the next day after the paint was dry to reinstall some blinds. Our only minor quibble is that they posted a sign on our lawn without asking us first.

Owner James Lee bases his business on professionalism, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. His crew works swiftly with minimal disruption to the lives of the homeowners. Excellent daily clean-up. The house was not a difficult job since there was only a day of prep work, which is usually the most time-consuming. The entire job (for a crew of 3) was finished in 4-5 days. James has obviously built his reputation is in pleasing his customers. His crew is very professional and will go out of its way to accommodate you. In sum, the overall experience was a pleasant one and his prices are quite good for a licensed & bonded painter.

James Lee came to the house to look at what needed to be done. He presented his licenses and many letters of recommendation. When the painters came, they were fast and professional. There was a bit of a language barrier with the head painter, which made it a little difficult to explain what we wanted, but for the most part it went very smoothly. Be sure to specify what trim and doors you want painted- I thought I was getting everything, but trim, windows and doors are an additional cost.

We were very happy with the whole experience. They did a few extra things at a reasonable charge or no charge.

Mr. Lee came out the same day that I called him to give us a quote. He presented us with copies of his license, addresses and photos of previous work and letters of recommendations. He was pleasant, thorough and professional. He told us up front that his quote would not be the lowest, but that they would do good work!

I was truly impressed with the quality, professionalism and price of House Painting Inc. Their estimate was lower than any other bids we received, and the two painters which did the jobs were excellent. They were especially skilled at sealing some cracks in the ceilings and walls and they look flawless now. Of special note were two holes we had in the ceiling due to some roof pipes we removed. They did a really amazing job repairing the plaster in the ceiling and the previous holes are completely invisible. Outstanding from start to finish!

James was very prompt in coming to give an estimate, and his painters were hard working. We had a couple of miscommunications about what we agreed on to get painted, but they were resolved without an issue. Overall, a rather painless ordeal.

Mr. Lee was able to come up the same day we called to give us an estimate. He also helped us settle on paint colors. The interior crew came first, did all the prep (priming and repairs) and then painted walls, trim, and ceilings. Then the exterior crew came and got to work, prepping the stucco and woodwork and then painting. All together it took approximately six days.

They were just outstanding and the painting looks great. They were very friendly and efficient. They were also very fast and effective but the man who came had very poor English. Due to which we had a lot of trouble communicating with him and understanding him. My wife had to draw a picture of the house, the way she wanted it, which saved us. She put the colors on it after which he understood and did a great job. Their price was great as well.

I got a quote very quickly, the same day I contacted owner James Lee. I delayed accepting the quote a few weeks due to work traveling. We set a probable start date for about two weeks out. I called James a couple of days before that start date to veryfy and was told they got behind because of weather and he would call me. It was 3 weeks before I got the call he wanted to start the next morning. I had about given up on him. Luckily it fit my unpredictable schedule so it happened. The crew, usually 2, did a fine job. They discussed with me how it was to be done and made appropriate suggestions as to color and preparations. They started promptly at 8:15 to 8:30 every morning and cleaned up every evening by 5 pm. They were finished in 4 days, the first 4 very hot days of LA summer this year. I am very satisfied with the result. It looks great.

It went great! They were able to start right away. It was not just one person to do the job as sometimes happens. There were 3 professional and very kind painters. They double checked with me over every detail, had some great ideas, fixed holes in the wall and did a wonderful job! The crew was really nice. They were polite and very considerate. I have a house full of animals and they were really great with keeping doors shut and knocking. The price was several hundred dollars cheaper than anyone else that I had estimate the work and exceeded all my expectations. The estimate was right on with no extra charges. Plus they were done in 2 days!!!! They came right at 8:30am worked the first day until almost 6pm and were done the next day by 5pm! I have had a lot of remodeling done and this, by far, was the very best experience I have had. Again the nicest crew ever!

I was very pleased with the work. James came out to give me an estimate within one day and we were able to settle on a date three weeks in the future that fit into my schedule. The crew was professional, prompt and very easy to work with. They began on a Monday morning and were finished by Friday at noon. Great work! I love Angie's list...I read every review before making a major service decision and I haven't been wrong yet.

Mr. Lee came to our home almost immediately to give us an estimate. He provided references, photos of his company's previous work, and license documents. He was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We chose to get a second estimate from another highly rated company on Angie's List. Mr. Lee's quote was approx. $1000 less, so we went with him. The crew (3 men) arrived promptly every day. The man in charge of the on-site work was friendly and accommodating. He made sure to check in with me each day regarding the progress of the job. Overall finished work was/is excellent. It feels like a new house. The painters were careful and precise and cleaned up the mess every day. My husband and I are very happy!

They were excellent! James Lee came over the next day for the estimate. The workers started following day. They were professional, skilled at what they do, and were efficient. It was a two day job, they were actually done by 1:00 on the second day. I will be using them again in the near future for other painting work that I will need done.

James Lee was punctual to our estimate appointment and provided a quote onsite. His crew was on time, neat, organized, and thorough.

Mr. Lee is the owner of the company. They were quick and did a good job. They paid attention to details and delivered what they said they would. They did not leave any mess behind.

I have used House Painting, Inc. before and was very happy with the painting services they provided. This time I had a 1924, two story, four unit apartment building to paint. The building is very old, and needed a lot of prep work, particularly to the old wooden windows. Mr. James Lee responded quickly. We set up an appointment. His three crew team showed up right on time. They were polite, knowledgable and helpful. They spent a tremendous amount of effort preparing the windows and old stucco building for painting. Their work was top notch. They finished exactly when they said they would. The building now looks amazying. I am extremely happy with with the results and would not hesitate to recommend their services.

It went very well. After I first called Mr. Lee came out and arrived promptly at the time agreed upon. He provided me with letters of recommendation, copies of his insurance etc. His estimate was higher than that of the last painter I had used and called for an estimate on the trim, but I was very impressed with his thoroughness in evaluating the work and the suggestions he made so I decided to go with him. His workers showed up on time; were clean and efficient; did an outstanding job (no complaints at all on the quality of the work); were polite and were cautious about not letting our indoor cats escape. I was very pleased and would use them again.

The entire experience with House Painting was a very good one. I would recommend them highly. The crew that came to the house were always on time, they went above and beyond when it came to helping me finalize the actual color for the house and they were organized and neat. We are very pleased with the result.

The 3 bids, all "A" rated in Angies list, varied according to the use of ladders versus scaffolding; scaffolding seemed the more expensive route. James Lee's bid used only ladders. The three painters, a father and two sons, were extremely comfortable with each other, consequently, the team worked quickly, efficiently and skillfully... and with very pleasant dispositions. And did they move fast!. I am a good painter, but slower and less confident so far above the street . We could not have asked for a nicer bunch. The unseen edges, tops of wood framed trim, etc., were completely done.

James came to my house for an estimate. He showed me a book that contained extensive letters of commendation from customers throughout the years. He explained to me before work commenced that the previous owner of my house had done a great deal of patching and that to make the house look pristine would require either new siding or an amount of sanding that would be impractical and excessively costly. I understood that we would have to focus on the trouble spots, and that there would still be some bonding material beneath the paint. I accepted the bid and his two-person crew started work the next day. During the sanding process, we realized that in certain, heavily damaged areas the wood would have a textured look to it, as opposed to being perfectly smooth. I happen to like texture, and so I had no problem with that. The guys were very courteous, hard-working and thoughtful. The crew always tidied up at day's end. When the guys weren't running the necessary machinery, they were very quiet; what a relief not to have continual conversation or music playing throughout the day! I am very satisfied with the experience from start to finish, and I think the house looks great.

James was very prompt in getting me an estimate and the work was started and completed on time.

Mr. Lee was very professional in his manner and presentation of options for the repairs and painting. He provided references and examples, advice, paint charts, and a reasonable estimate so that we could quickly evaluate his bid (which came in quite a bit lower than a second company's bid). His crew was polite and worked carefully. They covered adjacent hedges and a car that could not be moved. They removed the peeling paint, filled in cracks and patched the stucco to completely smooth out the old cracks and gouges. They painted all exterior surfaces as promised, including some items we initially forgot to discuss--the slightly rusty awnings and metal security doors. The exterior has had a great facelift!

We discovered House Painting Inc on Angie's List, and the owner, James, came out and gave us an estimate for painting the interior and exterior of our new house. His estimate was well below another estimate we got, and we really liked James' professionalism and his pride in his company's work. The job was not just painting, it also required a lot of patching of cracks on the interior and stucco work on the exterior. Both jobs were completed in just over a week. The guys (about five of them overall) worked six days a week and were very professional and nice people. Also, the end result was fabulous. Our house was completely transformed. It's really a wonderful place to be now! We are so happy with the work that was done, I would recommend House Painting Inc to anyone. Thanks James!

I called James Lee after reading the revies on Angie's List. He was very prompt in returning my call and scheduling an appointment for an estimate. He showed me a book of previous work as well as his current license. He provided an estimate same day whereas other companies were slow to do this. All of his staff arrived to start the job when they said they would. They allowed me to test colors and were very patient and professional. They were friendly and respectful of my home and family. I am completely satisfied with the job they did. Its like living in a new home. Their prices were completely reasonable and there were no hidden costs. They stuck to the bid provided. They also followed up with me in case there were any touch ups that I wanted. I am so pleased and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.
